Tasty and unusual, Quartet pasta bulgarese..

Hi Bethany and aficionados!
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:05pm fleep:

Reading about Ernst Bacon on the Wiki as the next piece comes on: "Sometimes compared with Béla Bartók..." Howdy Bethany and classy listeners.

Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:32pm Bethany Ryker:

Actually, the $20 MVP ;)
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:33pm P-90:

20 bucks?! was that the total budget?
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:34pm Matt from Springfield:

Scriabin!
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:35pm P-90:

@Matt: Geshundheit
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:36pm Bethany Ryker:

That was the budget. Great lot, eh?
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:36pm Droll:

. o O ( Any butcher is fine, as long as it's not "vinyls" )

P-90, $20 will buy a bunch of classical albums! It's difficult to sell classical, most stores won't even take it. Prices and LP condition are typically VG or VG+.
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:37pm Bethany Ryker:

@fleep - I read that too, *after* thinking the two would match well aesthetically. The wiki abides!
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:39pm Matt from Springfield:

Evening, P-90!
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:40pm ranjit:

i like saying "scriabin"
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:41pm t_J:

and now the tour .. much better :)
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:43pm Matt from Springfield:

@ranjit: As do I! Listening to him, too.
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:44pm 12539:

Now all we need is some people who like *performing* Scriabin. Luckily, there's a Symphony on nearby vinyl.
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:46pm Matt from Springfield:

@12539: Approach maestroso on that, next time we see him :)
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:46pm Bethany Ryker:

I do recommend hunting down Kurt Gottschalk at the record fair and commissioning him to buy records for you. Best personal shopper ever.
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:47pm n a:

what color do you all think about listening to this one?
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:50pm Bethany Ryker:

yellow
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...beautiful performance these New Yoirkers w/ this Dimitri fellow...
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:51pm Matt from Springfield:

@n a: Sea green, unusually enough. Notwithstanding the title, this could work both as the birth of fire, or as an undersea voyage.
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:52pm fleep:

BBQ sauce
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:53pm Matt from Springfield:

@Bethany: Softer tones, a drama is present in the symphony; not quite roaring but strongly simmering in the arrangement..
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:55pm mike east:

I can totally see an undersea voyage in this. Something very adventurous about it
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:56pm P-90:

This show BADLY needs another hour
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:57pm Matt from Springfield:

Color projections! Certainly influences how we would hear a piece.

@Mike: Yes, agree!
@P-90: Night People fill-in!! A natural choice! Or, a 3 hour fill-in sometime this summer!
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:58pm 12539:

Time has flown.
Thanks, Bethany.
And thanks to Kurt as well!
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 8:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Many thanks Bethany for another amazing show! Scriabin is a rare treat, definitely could use more airplay!

Have a good night everyone!
  Mon. 7/14/14 8:59pm Faye:

I love this program!
Avatar Mon. 7/14/14 9:00pm Bethany Ryker:

Thoroughly enjoyable show to take me into 2am, and one I need to catch live more often.
