Jeffrey, do you organize your CDs alphabetically, or another way?

Good morning Doca!
What is the mood like in you area?
Hello Hark, TDK, e12, Rectitude ... forgot anyone?
Avatar 8:16am
doca:

@Guido: mood? Because of the World Cup? eheh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am
Guido from Cologne:

i didn't want to say "soccer" or something.
Avatar 8:21am
doca:

haha well, people keep protesting, the police keeps beating everyone, but everybody is slowly getting into the World Cup, which I think is good, as the Cup is only a small part of Brazil's problems and it is a privilege to have such good football for a month in Brazil. As for myself, I'm looking forward to the Uruguay match and the one between Italy and England.

Just to end the report, in Porto Alegre is raining since yesterday and it adds to the good vibes of waking up early in the Saturday morning and listen to Jeff's show.
Avatar 8:22am
TDK60:

You may know (or not) that many Brazilians, of all people, have been protesting *against* the World Cup's extravagant costs, they want more funds put to transportation, health care, etc.
Avatar 8:23am

Avatar 8:26am
doca:

Yeah, I know, @TDK, and last year I even went to one or two manifestations. But in the last months a campaign grew which was centered around the slog #nãovaitercopa (#There won't be World Cup), which although came from the political left, opened a whole range of right-wing middle-class political statements that don't even shy away from proposing to overthrow the federal government just because of the WC costs, as if the states didn't have any charge in it. So, it's a very complex situation (and as I'm in the end of semester of my classes, I took the attitude to let it all slip by until the end of Cup).
Avatar 8:26am
doca:

slog = slogan
Avatar 8:28am
doca:

As I've said, health, education and public transportation are problems that will stand with or without the World Cup.

Sorry for bothering you guys with all this eheh

I do dig the personal view in the first case.
Thank you for the extentive information.
Avatar 8:31am

Thanks, Guido! And how's everything up there? My ex-girlfriend is going to Berlin to spend a month there learning Deutsch, must say it makes me kinda jealous eheh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am

When is Germany's first game in the WC?
  8:34am

doca: monday

Ah one of my favourite songs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am
Guido from Cologne:

Berlin in Summer is a good choice!
Lot's of outdoor live there.
(Winter would have been a bad choice, very cold.)

Don't ask me anything about WC exept for FIFA-Corruption.
Avatar 8:36am
doca:

@Guido: haha you're not into soccer?
@kressesse: thanks! Only too bad I'll be in class. Yesterday I already couldn't see Spain x Netherlands
  8:38am
kressesse:

Spain x Netherlands was such a fantastic game. And I hope Germany will be out of the cup soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am
Guido from Cologne:

I'd love to see an African team win!
Avatar 8:40am
doca:

@kressesse: Germany is the team I'm 'rationally' supporting, I think it's the best team in the whole tournament.
@Guido: me too! But I must say the African teams seem to always lose for some stupid reason
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am
Guido from Cologne:

what is the curren top African team?
is there one?

Jackson C. Frank! Cool!
  8:43am
kressesse:

doca: Really? I think Germany is not in the best condition to play up to it's real height. But I generally don't like the spike in nationalism and patriotism that occurs while Germany plays international football. I would enjoy the WorldCup much more without the party-patriotism.
Avatar 8:44am
doca:

I think is Ivory Coast, isn't it?
  8:44am
kressesse:

Maybe Ghana?
Avatar 8:44am
doca:

@kressesse: Yeah, I know what you mean, it's the same in Brazil (and that's why I try to support other teams during the Cup, and not Brazil).
Avatar 8:45am
doca:

Yeah, Ghana is the best team, I guess.

Anyway, the WC always makes someone have mixed feelings about a lot of things.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
Guido from Cologne:

Stupid Germans shall get off their seats and play football themselves. When I see the overweight guys in the pubs discussing as they were professinal trainers ... ridiculous ... of course it is part of the whole show biz.
  8:47am
kressesse:

Indeed, doca. There is even more domestic violence during the WC. I don't think the proposition that international sporting events are at all beneficial to international understanding. But still I enjoy it so much!
Avatar 8:48am
TDK60:

Don't get me wrong. I love football, played it in high school and again recently with a bunch of punks, just for fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51am
Guido from Cologne:

@TDK60
You do the right thing!
Soccer to the streets!
  8:51am
doca:

Boy, I miss playing football. I was never good at it, but it's always fun when you're past that time when during class you would be that last one to be picked up to complete the team eheh sports were such a drag during school.
Avatar 8:52am
TDK60:

Though I do think too much goes into the World Cup and professional sports in general. More funds need to go to...folk music! Hee. Speaking of which, great show Jeffrey.
  8:54am
kressesse:

Yeah, fantastic music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55am
Guido from Cologne:

@TDK60
I'm with you!

Anyway: For a change our well beloved Jeffrey has a living playlist chat today!
  8:56am
doca:

Haha blame it on the World Cup, Guido!

Thanks, Jeff, it's always a pleasure to hear your show
