Hello, all. Still having camera "issues," so no pics of today's cassettes. You'll just have to use your imagination (or discogs).
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/29/14 11:53am Uncle Michael:

I'm imagining strips of scotch tape over the holes at the back edge of the shells.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 11:55am Tony Coulter:

Just the reverse: Imagine a floor littered with little black tabs I removed with a pencil, so that I wouldn't accidentally tape over the things. (Heya, Uncle M!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/29/14 11:59am Uncle Michael:

Hey Tony!

I can scarcely remember the last time I peeled a little black tab off the sole of a bare foot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 4/29/14 12:02pm DCE:

hey guys!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 4/29/14 12:02pm Ike:

Greetings!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

Hola, DCE!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

... and Ike!!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:03pm Rich in Washington:

Yikes!
I was on the wrong channel. Hola, senor Tony! Hola GTDR listeners!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:03pm still b/p:

That's a lyric right there, UM -- punky snarl or country croon -- your call.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:04pm northguineahills:

prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmm-PLOP!

Looks like I'm here!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, Rich, still b/p, and NGH!!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:08pm Tony Coulter:

Here's a discogs shot of the cassette on now: www.discogs.com...
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:14pm Tony Coulter:

Oops! Sorry -- was grabbing coffee .... missed the track transition.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/29/14 12:23pm Uncle Michael:

back in a bit
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:23pm Tony Coulter:

Double oops -- this is still Die Form's "Blades." Better drink my coffee.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:32pm Tony Coulter:

Cheezis -- the listed track times are *totally* off on this cassette.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:32pm Tony Coulter:

See you, Uncle M....
  Tue. 4/29/14 12:40pm Swami Loopynanda:

Very Good Listening. Harsh Reality put out a nice German cassette culture VA album in the late 1980's: Music For A Divided Germany. HA also put out several other VA cassette comps in the 1980's from single countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Spain, Australia, etc.)
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:42pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Swami! Glad you're enjoying the tape. Weirdly, all artists on this "Germany" tape are *French*! Maybe it's supposed to be their vision of Germany -- or perhaps it's just perversity.
  Tue. 4/29/14 12:44pm Swami Loopynanda:

Das Synthetische Mischgewebe is on the Harsh Reality comps from France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and maybe even more. I'm surprised not to see them here...
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:56pm Tony Coulter:

I've really never across an album where the track times are more off. Two-minute tracks are listed as 6 minutes, and vice versa. More mind games! Damned "German" frogs!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 12:58pm Tony Coulter:

"come across"....
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:01pm Tony Coulter:

This tape seems to have cleared the house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 4/29/14 1:06pm Andrew Waterloo:

I'm just speachless
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:06pm Tony Coulter:

Hey Andrew!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:07pm Tony Coulter:

There was a brief uncredited track in there, just to add to the fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/29/14 1:08pm Like a bad penny...:

Hello.
  Tue. 4/29/14 1:10pm Swami Loopynanda:

I loved it. Thanks for playing it, TC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Tue. 4/29/14 1:12pm DCE:

anal furgler, huh?
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:15pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Like a bad penny -- showing up, are you?
  Tue. 4/29/14 1:18pm Swami Loopynanda:

Rudi Tüscher of Nisus Anal Furgler was the mastermind of the Calypso Now label, which put out some very thought provoking cassettes back in the 1980's. Switzerland, of course, is the home of Dadaism, the forebearer of so much fun over the years.
  Tue. 4/29/14 1:21pm nardo:

very much digging this collection. thanks tony!
  Tue. 4/29/14 1:21pm Dean:

And aptly this DT tune sounds just a wee bit like Cabaret Voltaire.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:21pm Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, Nardo and Dean!!

  Tue. 4/29/14 1:47pm Dean:

Is the vocalist chanting, "Elton John" or "Gentle Giant"?
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 1:48pm Tony Coulter:

She saying "Jungle Jive"! (Hola, Dean!)
  Tue. 4/29/14 1:49pm Dean:

Howdy. Yeah, just kidding.

Pieti + Mani, nice.

"Candle in the Glass House," with Nigel Olsson on pipes and tabor
Avatar    Tue. 4/29/14 2:20pm Jeremy N:

I'm hooloopy for the early eighties belgian stuff that so often appears on these oxidized gems of yours, and this one is really hitting the spot!
Avatar    Tue. 4/29/14 2:23pm Jeremy N:

So much gauzy mystery to this music, part of me wants more info on the whole scene and part of me wants to resist the urge to try to find out more.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 2:25pm Tony Coulter:

You may be relieved to know, then, that info on this stuff isn't easy to come by!
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 2:26pm Tony Coulter:

It's mostly buried in zines that are even harder to find than the cassettes.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 2:27pm Tony Coulter:

So the mystery will be safe....
Avatar    Tue. 4/29/14 2:30pm Jeremy N:

The revolution will not be archived!
  Tue. 4/29/14 2:32pm doca:

Hi all. Tony Coulter, I love your show, especially Tape Hiss, but most of all I love your avatar here in WFMUland.
Avatar Tue. 4/29/14 2:33pm Tony Coulter:
