It's Watergate all over again!
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 9:16am Sem Chumbo:

Beautiful, Cutler. I love this, from Wikipedia:
"Cutler was a noted eccentric, dressing in a distinctive style including plus-fours and hats adorned with many badges, travelling mainly by bicycle and often communicating by means of sticky labels printed with "Cutlerisms", one of which, "never knowingly understood" came to be applied by supporters and detractors alike."
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 9:22am dale:

beautiful set.

Big Star Radio City came out in 1974. This could go on a long time.
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 9:34am Chris M.:

Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 9:37am Whooda:

Thanks Chris M. Didn't notice its a 1974 FREAKOUT today. Cheers.

I remember the spacey chick in high school "Tracer" Tracy was beside herself showing everyone her Diamond Dogs album in the hall in 1974. Had I know Rebel Rebel and the rest of the kickass tuneage was on there, I would have been pretty phyched too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:08am fred:

Why the focus on 1974? Is our esteemed host turning 40 this week?
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:12am Chris M.:

@fred i've been going back through the decades over various shows. check out the archive page and you'll see: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:17am fred:

I'm obviously a newbie to your show, so I didn't know that. I'm rarely at home at this time, and previous slots didn't agree with my schedule either. I hope I'll get to catch more in the future
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:17am Mike Sin:

I quite enjoy these year-themed shows.

@Whooda: you just have to believe hard enough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:27am Mike Sin:

That's what I love about WFMU -- it's all about freeform and context... not necessarily excluding "classic rock" or popular bands, per se.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:29am Eyepatch Fox:

Yaaaaaaaaawn. Morning, folks! :D
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:32am Whooda:

Black Water is my all-time fav Doobies tune. Remembering this period when nasty rumors that gasoline would top $0.50 a gallon mark and the sheer terror stories it could go as high as $1 per gallon. hehe.
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:36am DanH:

Morning Chris. Can we get any James Brown here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:36am fred:

As much as I love Neil's music, Pono looks like a total rip-off scheme. It's sad to see him get there
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:39am Eyepatch Fox:

What ever happened to that live action version of The Last Unicorn there were rumors about happening? (With Christopher Lee playing the same part, I believe)
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:41am mariano:

Is The Unicorn the last time the word gay was used in its original sense and unironically?
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:42am Chris M.:

@DanH sorry but i'm not familiar enough with James Brown's 1974 releases
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:44am DanH:

@Chris, Big Payback and Funky President are the only ones I know that came out in 1974.
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:45am Chris M.:

@DanH oh, i guess i am familiar with them then but i won't get to them this week
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:47am DanH:

@Chris, that's cool, no worries.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 4/27/14 10:48am fred:

Totally unrelated: I heard there's a petition out there to release Delia Derbyshire's work for the BBC. I guess I should figure it out and sign it... but first there's some ironing that stubbornly refuses to do itself. I'll be back...
Avatar Sun. 4/27/14 10:49am thunderish' Jay:

never cared to much of listening the sound of defeat om here for good things and listening to WFMU today its not what i need .. hope and change .. perhaps putting winning slogans into actions could help .. just guessing
