A reflexive, traveling radio production. Each show is spontaneous as a backroom deal, a different guest a different location every week. Two hours of trading records with friends, programming without a prepared playlist. Actually, it goes like this: Jesse Kaminsky travels around Providence and the world with a portable radio show, visits a different person every week and makes spontaneous musical exchanges. We agree to call it radio.

Howdy, Jesse, and everyone!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:02pm Doug Schulkind:

Studio P to Studio P. If we cross streams, Jesse, it's Studio Pee.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:03pm Jesse K:

hey James, thanks Doug! I got your email about having to do all fool themed songs tonight so I'll see what I can do
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:05pm Gary:

What film was that from?
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:05pm Doug Schulkind:

You FOOL! I said play only songs about kittens!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:06pm Doug Schulkind:

I guess foolish kittens would be okay.
  Tue. 4/8/14 7:07pm ?:

kaminsky,
i been listening for a while now and i'd like to buy you a drink
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:08pm Andrew Waterloo:

good evening
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:08pm Jesse K:

Hi Gary! It was from the film April Fool, 1964 on EMI.
I could use a drink but I've only been on 8 minutes.
Howdy Andrew!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:11pm Doug Schulkind:

I have 13 hours and 58 minutes of Fool songs on my hard drive. (I realize that size doesn't matter.)
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:11pm Doug Schulkind:

Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:13pm Gary:

What's this French rap?
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:13pm Doug Schulkind:

@Gary
Keep an eye on your in box for "April Fool."
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:13pm Jesse K:

to be fair, I'm not sure if I can actually stick to a theme long enough to get through the 2 hours of all fool themed songs but had to start at least.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:14pm Jesse K:

Gary, this is produced by former KK cohost Oz McGuire, based in the Bay Area
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:14pm Gary:

It's a fool's task, Jesse. Doug, thank you!
  Tue. 4/8/14 7:14pm ?:

death from above 1979 or face death.
i dont care, its spring, its mating season
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:15pm Gary:

Oh, so that was the Afrolicious, okay.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:18pm Gary:

Boredoms!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:23pm Gary:

I'm an idiot. I was futzing around in my itunes while listening and didn't realize that I had hit a song hard enough with my cursor and was hearing my own music instead of the stream
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:25pm Holly in NC:

Did someone say kittens? {ears perk}

Scanning ny computer, I could probably pull out at least an hour of "Leave My Kitten Alone" variations, alone.

No, @Gary, you're not an idiot - but maybe a fool. In the good, secretly running kingdoms sort of way ;-)
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:27pm Jesse K:

haha, Gary, I was looking hard to see if I had a song by the boredoms that was about fools
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:28pm Doug Schulkind:

@Holly
Keep an ear out for a taste of Savannah, in an in-box near you...
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:29pm Gary:

I think it started around the time you were playing Afrolicious. I think I missed the Afrolicious and was hearing some French rap instead. I'm now listening to the pop up so I don't do that again.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:31pm Jesse K:

yeah, there wasn't really french rapping in the afrolicious track. I do love that you were getting excited about your itunes though
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:35pm Holly in NC:

@Doug - will do!

And @Jesse & @Gary - I forgot I was in Soundcloud & just played new Acid Mothers Temple (excellent) & Funkadelic's 'Maggot Brain', both of which seemed like something Jesse might play so it didn't even register that no, sounds not matching the playlist ;-)
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:36pm Jesse K:

there should be some sort of mechanism for like a choose your own adventure type of open source radio show...we got to work on this
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:37pm Gary:

This Friction song is awesome
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:39pm Jesse K:

whoops, Friction is 1980 not 1970
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:47pm Doug Schulkind:

Too bad La Lupe didn't cover Fool on the Hill. That would be brilliant.
Avatar    Tue. 4/8/14 7:51pm Uncle Michael:

Radio RPG.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:51pm Gary:

God I love La Lupe.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:53pm Gary:

Yes I can hear you in the background
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:54pm Doug Schulkind:

And La Lupe loved God. She became a Jehovah's witness and renounced her entire performing/recording career.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:54pm Jesse K:

you can hear so much more "room noise" with this new mic that I'm going to renounce my recording career
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:55pm Gary:

Whaaaa? That's ... I don't know how to process that.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:55pm Gary:

Doug did not play this, no
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:57pm Jesse K:

sorry guys, it's Jandek time
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:58pm northguineahills:

Been busy, dug the Pierre Henry/Sax and love this Jandek.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 7:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Freeform means never having to say you're sorry. Even for Jandek. Especially for Jandek.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:00pm Jesse K:

sorry for saying sorry guys
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:02pm Jesse K:

hey NGH!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:05pm Gary:

I had never heard of Jandek before. Now downloading a buncha stuff of his ...
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:07pm Jesse K:

the lead singer of this band is actually almost half mosquito
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:07pm northguineahills:

Every freaking job application requires a novel. I've been in hyperdrive all day and mainly of the comments board.
Avatar    Tue. 4/8/14 8:09pm listener james from westwood:

Gary, you might be a while downloading that Jandek. His is a deep bench!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:10pm Jesse K:

can you just find some script that will cull all your fmu comments into one long statement and submit that with a resume?
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:51pm Jesse K:

we're back live!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:54pm northguineahills:

Thanks Jesse! Good fun!
Avatar    Tue. 4/8/14 8:55pm Jeff:

Are we back? I think we're back.
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:55pm northguineahills:

Loved the screwed and chopped mix, thanks!
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:55pm Jesse K:

thanks NGH, good luck on your applications there
Avatar Tue. 4/8/14 8:59pm Jesse K:

we're back and we're gone, just like that. thanks folks!
Avatar    Tue. 4/8/14 9:04pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
