Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 11:59am DDDJJJ666:

As far as I can tell, April Fools Day is largely spent lying for fun, whereas April 2nd is largely spent lying for real.

Poor DEVO. They so wanted to leave Warner Bros. or die.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:07pm DDDJJJ666:

They are still touring, sans Bob.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:07pm Carmichael:

Pretty mellow Devo. I needs me some herky jerkin'.

We buy Muslimgauze by the yard here.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:10pm Rich in Washington:

They're a Bob shy of a DEVO, now.
Sadly, not playing Portland..
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:10pm Rich in Washington:

Mark Mothersbaugh looks like Booji Boy without wearing the mask, now.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:10pm DDDJJJ666:

We may have to make a pilgrimage to see the hardcore show.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:11pm DCE:

well hi there, Thom Jones. I don't believe I've had the pleasure.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:11pm duke:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:15pm Carmichael:

Who's this crusty ol' blues dude?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm DCE:

I'm hearing blues.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm DDDJJJ666:

No idea. This is not my show. The stream just suddenly changed. Maybe today's show is cancelled. Doug???
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm Gary:

You are not the only one, Mr. 666. I'm hearing blues guy, too
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm Rich in Washington:

I just thought you had a bunch of sweet old Blues picture discs you were dying to share.
  Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm MrFab:

Deffo a blues, not no NO Y Z
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm Rich in Washington:

I'm hearing Blue's Clues.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:16pm listener james from westwood:

Getting blues on the iTunes stream and the popup.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm DCE:

closed and re-opened the pop up player and it's gospel
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm duke:

We've got gospel now.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm DDDJJJ666:

This is WAY not my show. I so don't own this kind of stuff. Doug???
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm Carmichael:

Doug probably left for the Pirates game ....
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm Gary:

Yes, gospel now. 666, do you have Doug's number to text/call?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm Rich in Washington:

We should collectively try to summon Doug, using Voduon rituals.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:17pm duke:

It's just Doug's April Fools Day joke.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:18pm DCE:

donde esta KENZO?
  Tue. 4/1/14 12:18pm MrFab:

Jesus is fighting 666. Who will win?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:18pm Carmichael:

I'll send him a postcard.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:18pm DCE:

oh yeah, April Fools...forgot about that
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:18pm Rich in Washington:

HAH! DJ6² is a closet Blues freak!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:19pm Ike:

Jesus H. Christ, Jesus Christ must be into pulling April Fool's Day pranks on DJs.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:19pm DDDJJJ666:

Hmmm. Sorry everyone. Hopefully it will come back. I mean, respect 'n all, but I only like white people music STOLEN from the blues and gospel.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:20pm DDDJJJ666:

Well, there will be a Mixcloud of this up later today. Just look for DDDJJJ666 in Mixcloud.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:21pm DDDJJJ666:

Ooh Lord, April 1st is fun, but not THIS fun.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:22pm Rich in Washington:

Oh, man...
This is kinda painful. I can listen to the auto-stream all day in most cases, but I'm wondering when Herbie Mann is gonna show up...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:23pm DDDJJJ666:

This is starting to smell like waiting for Godot, where we are all making tolerating faces together.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:23pm Ike:

Sounds like you again!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:23pm Rich in Washington:

oh, hey, it's starting all over again....
  Tue. 4/1/14 12:23pm MrFab:

666 returns! Hail Satan!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:23pm DDDJJJ666:

Well, I guess we are re-jumping off from here?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:24pm Gary:

That was weird.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:24pm DDDJJJ666:

It still is.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:25pm Doug Schulkind:

It appears there is a problem with the show file for DDDJJJ666's program. It is only 11:38 long! Not sure how or why this happened, but the file is incomplete.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:25pm Rich in Washington:

APRIL FOOLS!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:25pm DDDJJJ666:

Weird. I checked what I sent to Tony last night and it was all there.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:25pm Gary:

Uh oh
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:26pm Doug Schulkind:

I tried restarting the program with the intention of forwarding the file to the appropriate spot, timing wise, but that's when I discovered that it was short. I am investigating.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:26pm Tony Coulter:

Doug, can I send YOU the MP3?
  Tue. 4/1/14 12:27pm MrFab:

Play that 11 minutes over and over. I can think of worse things than Devo, Muslimgauze and No Y Z on a loop.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:27pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I trusted you, internet.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:28pm Doug Schulkind:

I am downloading the file again from Tony's upload perch. If it is the correct length, I will insert it into the stream and then forward it to the correct timing. Yikes!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:28pm DDDJJJ666:

Sorry, Doug, can I send YOU the MP3?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:28pm Doug Schulkind:

It has three minutes more to download. Then I can check its length.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:29pm DDDJJJ666:

Hopefully what he sent wasn't corrupted in some way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:29pm Carmichael:

I can mail you some 45s, if that helps.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:30pm Rich in Washington:

I hope only the music and intentions of the artists therein is corrupted but not the audio file.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:30pm still b/p:

Lunch today is a plate of Coulter Cut.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:30pm DDDJJJ666:

This jazz is way too free.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:31pm Doug Schulkind:

31 more seconds!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:31pm DDDJJJ666:

There will be a Mixcloud of the whole thing one way or t'other.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:32pm DDDJJJ666:

That kind of download timeframe seems like it should be longer than 11 minutes.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:32pm Doug Schulkind:

OK, that time, the file downloaded with the correct length. Hang on...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:32pm Rich in Washington:

I didn't mean to diss GTDR stream by evoking Herbie Mann, Doug. It just seemed like the stuff playing was such a funny contrast to DJ6²'s stuff. I shouldn't have gone there.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:33pm DDDJJJ666:

The body of WFMU is rejecting the DDDJJJ666 transplant.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:34pm Doug Schulkind:

OK, now I am uploading the file to the GTDR server. It will take 19 minutes to upload.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Not sure why the file got corrupted during the first download. Apologies, Thom and everyone.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:35pm DDDJJJ666:

THE MATRIX IS REAL!!!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:35pm DDDJJJ666:

Well, I guess I'll go put on underwear.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:38pm DDDJJJ666:

www.mixcloud.com... is the link to my streams. The complete show will be up here later today. I SWEAR TO THE ADULT JESUS!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:39pm DDDJJJ666:

Thanks for McGuivering that shit, Doug.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:39pm Doug Schulkind:

14 minutes to paydirt. Once it uploads, I will drag it into the queue for the stream and then attempt to move the show to about the correct spot.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:40pm DDDJJJ666:

Coolio.
  Tue. 4/1/14 12:40pm snake:

wow....sure sounds like steve lacy...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:41pm DDDJJJ666:

It's Steve Cagny and Steve Lacy
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:42pm Doug Schulkind:

I need an abacus to figure this out. The original show length is about 3:06. So if I restart the show at about 12:52pm (ET), than there should be about 2:14 remaining for it to be at the correct spot.

Sweet Jeebus, wish me luck!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:42pm holland oats:

wait, that was on my SATs
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:42pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks to DJ Gary for alerting me. I was out walking the dog and got an emergency text from him!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:44pm DDDJJJ666:

The good news, Doug, is that wherever you restart the show, it will be right, cuz we'll take what we can get AND LIKE IT!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:44pm Rich in Washington:

Here's appreciation for the Emergency Give The Drummer Alert System...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:45pm DDDJJJ666:

www.mixcloud.com... will contain the whole show WITH the interruption as a bonus track (not)
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:45pm earrie:

No sirens necessary.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:47pm Doug Schulkind:

While we wait for the correct file to upload, any requests on the stream?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:47pm Uncle Michael:

Relay a numbers station?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:47pm Gary:

YES I WANNA HEAR ... um, shoot. What do I wanna hear?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:48pm Rich in Washington:

Caravan with a drum sola...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:48pm Doug Schulkind:

It has to be something or someone already on the stream's server. Otherwise, I'd have to upload it. {gulp}
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:48pm DDDJJJ666:

I second numbers station.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:49pm DDDJJJ666:

An old Tony show?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:49pm Rich in Washington:

A long, insane-sounding Thai/Isan song (can't remember what it was)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:49pm Uncle Michael:

They never get old.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:50pm DDDJJJ666:

Thanks, heroes, for hanging in there. At least this alternate programming is SFW.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:50pm Gary:

Lonnie Holley
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:50pm still b/p:

Banda 11 de Enero de Murillo - La Cachona
Kapere Jazz Band - Akinyi Nyagi Essy
Lee Selmoco - Chemin De Fer
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:52pm DDDJJJ666:

That sounds me-ish
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:52pm Gary:

Oooh, somethin's happenin
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:52pm DDDJJJ666:

No, not me yet.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:53pm Gary:

It's Lonnie!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:53pm earrie:

Ish-ish
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:53pm Doug Schulkind:

Still two more minutes of uploading left. Kapere Jazz Band next...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:55pm DDDJJJ666:

Thanks for playing DJ, Doug, so I can eat breakfast.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:56pm DDDJJJ666:

It's like a best of!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:56pm Jeff:

Well done, Doug...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:57pm Doug Schulkind:

OK, there is now two hours and 10 minutes left of the show! I need a shower.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:57pm DDDJJJ666:

Thanks for fixing the internets, Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:57pm Uncle Michael:

In another window I got rickrolled while Lonnie was singing and it absolutely worked.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:58pm Gary:

Yay!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:58pm DDDJJJ666:

Rickrolling never gets old. Just older.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:59pm Carmichael:

Now, can you update my Java, Doug?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 12:59pm Rich in Washington:

:D:O:U:G:!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 12:59pm Jeff:

We're being teased with the things we didn't get to hear. Just makes me want to hit the archive even harder.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:00pm DDDJJJ666:

The archive and/or www.mixcloud.com...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:01pm Doug Schulkind:

I only have decaf, Carmichael!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:01pm DDDJJJ666:

I also DJ on KXRY Portland, and last night's sister show of all colored vinyl will be in Mixcloud later today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:02pm Carmichael:

Then fill it to the rim, with Brim!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:03pm DDDJJJ666:

I'm totally rimming Brim right now.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:05pm DDDJJJ666:

Finally, team Tietchens to the rescue!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:07pm Doug Schulkind:

WFMU tech guru Jeff Moore is already ON IT to make sure the complete and correct show gets archived. Later. After it happens. Because archiving it before it's finished would really fuck with the time/space continuuuum.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:07pm DDDJJJ666:

Kimono Bauhaus.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:08pm DDDJJJ666:

Use your sonic screwdriver, Doug.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:09pm DDDJJJ666:

I could go hardcore on a Devo sandwich right now.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:11pm DDDJJJ666:

Pete Murphy sounds a bit like John Lydon with a cold.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:12pm DDDJJJ666:

And John Lydon sounds a bit like Bowie with a deer tick.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:13pm DDDJJJ666:

And Bowie sounds a bit like Sinatra with no mob connections.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:14pm Rich in Washington:

I watched that Pogues/Shane McGowan doc last night and I think I'm gonna watch it every time I get lax about flossing. (the Lydon reference made me think of it).
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:14pm DDDJJJ666:

And Sinatra sounds a bit like Caruso with different mob connections.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:15pm DDDJJJ666:

Yeah, Shane looks like he has a mouthful of dominos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:15pm Carmichael:

Rich, does your TV have an SAP translator that speaks MacGowan?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:15pm DDDJJJ666:

Maybe he took the Van Morrison song too literally.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:16pm Rich in Washington:

I heard a wealthier rockstar paid for him to get new choppers. Can't remember who but - wouldn't you, if you could?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:16pm Rich in Washington:

@Carmichael: Shane is much more intelligible than Mark E. Smith.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:17pm DDDJJJ666:

Fuck yeah! And a new liver.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:17pm Rich in Washington:

But I couldn't help feeling really sorry for anyone downwind of him doing that Ernie from Sesame Street laugh.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:17pm DDDJJJ666:

There's a bit of that coming up later that will prove that theorem.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:18pm Doug Schulkind:

OK, gots to run some errands. Thom, if the stream screws up, just email it a kick in the ass. Thanks for your patients, Doctor!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:18pm DDDJJJ666:

Ernie: also a notorious drunk.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:18pm Rich in Washington:

I can't listen to anything Irish like the Pogues at work right now - the visiting Irishman across the hall from me will think I'm being patronizing.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:19pm DDDJJJ666:

Tanx for rightin' 'em, boy-o.

Play some Virgin Prunes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:20pm Carmichael:

Ya baby, Gavin Friday!!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:20pm Rich in Washington:

Gavin Friday sounds like John Lydon with IRA ties.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:20pm DDDJJJ666:

I always wanted to go to his Blue Jaysus club.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:22pm DDDJJJ666:

Ever see the film Breakfast On Pluto, featuring Gavin as an IRA gun runner? No joke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:22pm Carmichael:

Watch the Irish music documentary "From a Whisper To a Scream". It'll answer all your questions about nearly anything. I think it's called Out of Ireland on Netflix.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:23pm Rich in Washington:

NO! That sounds cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:23pm Carmichael:

Then go watch The Commitments.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:23pm DDDJJJ666:

I am committed to never watching the Commitments.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:24pm northguineahills:

Rich, you should play some Jinx Lennon just to get a 'WTF' from your office mate.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:24pm Rich in Washington:

I need to see The Commitments again. I can't believe I have been completely unsuccessful at getting my wife to watch it with me. No one is murdered, there aren't subtitles, there's even singing in it.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:25pm DDDJJJ666:

Breakfast On Pluto also features Bryan Ferry in a short but key role.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:25pm Rich in Washington:

My wife is afraid of Commitments.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:25pm Rich in Washington:

I've heard rumors that Ferry's key is short.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:25pm DDDJJJ666:

Check under the hood, she might be a dude.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:27pm DDDJJJ666:

Ferry's trilling is thrilling, though (spake in an Irish accent)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:28pm Carmichael:

The best part of that documentary is Bono and Geldof calling each other "fucks". Sinead O'Connor is clearly daft, Delores O'Riordan is smug, and Gavin Friday is a laugh riot.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:29pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

whoa, favorite track from Pagan Day. Well done sir.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:29pm DDDJJJ666:

Well done on taste, sir!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:31pm Carmichael:

Uh oh, silence again ...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:31pm DDDJJJ666:

Don't all Irish people call each other fucks and cunts and then fight and it's all a laugh riot?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:31pm Carmichael:

Oh, INTENDED silence. Sorry, I panicked.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:31pm DDDJJJ666:

this is really cool. Isn't the Way International a real religious organization?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:34pm DDDJJJ666:

My people have 50 words for silence. I would tell you all of them, but it would take 4 minutes and 33 second.

I know! Even bad TG recordings sound great.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:49pm Rich in Washington:

Even though I don't like playing cassettes that much, I still want the 24 Hours suitcase set.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:50pm Rich in Washington:

I first heard TG on cassette and I still have it, despite owning the same album on CD and vinyl. The tape is precious for some fetishistic reason.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:53pm Rich in Washington:

oops. I vowed to never use the word vinyl again, due to its obnoxious over-use. Unless I'm talking about fetish wear.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:53pm earrie:

The whineflex
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:58pm Ike:

Digging the show, but maybe next time don't use anything with vocals as bed music? That Siouxsie track was really distracting while you were talking. Made my brain hurt. Or was that intentional? It's not so bad w/Duran Duran, but that's maybe because the vocals are less prominent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 1:59pm Carmichael:

Great, now I have THAT song stuck in my head.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 1:59pm Rich in Washington:

my favorite Irish thing is the pronunciation of the name for the letter H as 'HAYCHE'.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:00pm Rich in Washington:

Like, if he was a model train enthusiast, would he say HAYCHE NAUGHT to describe H/O scaled tracks?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:03pm still b/p:

Haychers gonna hayche.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

"Pardon me, Laddie? Have you got any Preparation Hayche?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 2:05pm Andrew Waterloo:

I believe 'h' is named for the Norman word for axe
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 2:08pm Carmichael:

Rich, try saying "where" or "which" with the 1st two letters inverted.

I love Arthur's funky 80s albums.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:22pm DDDJJJ666:

Rich, I have been eying a TG suitcase on Discogs for some time. $2,300.

Medicine's "Time Baby 5ive"?
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:24pm Rich in Washington:

I accidentally downloaded all those live cassette releases on Bittorrent. Maybe I'll just buy one of those king-sized cassette briefcases and stroke it while listening to all the live shows on a pair of uncomfortable 70s headphones with the lights out..
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:26pm Rich in Washington:

@paula pc: my favorite is his '82 album Requiem. With Earl Mankey and some assistance by Craig Leon. A really weird New Wave damaged concept album.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:28pm DCE:

hey, does anyone have any advice regarding liquid cleaner for vinyl (lps, of course)? I am looking at stuff on Amazon but I'm thinking it's just isopropyl alcohol mixed with distilled water...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:30pm glenn:

used motor oil mixed with sand has always worked well for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 4/1/14 2:31pm Jeff:

@DCE: maybe have a look here:

you serious??
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:32pm DCE:

oh fuck April Fools day!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:32pm DDDJJJ666:

That was that Craig Leon/Arthur Brown joint. It was eleased a couple years after this picture disc version under another title.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:33pm Rich in Washington:

@DCE: Yes, probably. I just do one part 90% isopropyl to three parts distilled water and add a drop of a surfactant agent like Kodak Photoflo or maybe even dishwashing soap. This is in a 16 ounce spray bottle. Works good for me.
  Tue. 4/1/14 2:33pm Dean:

@DCE: http://www.analogplanet.com/content/most-comprehensive-record-cleaning-article-ever-0 No joke, but "Do not use vodka."
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:33pm DCE:

thanks, Jeff, I was scoping all those products earlier--will def order the brushes and stuff, but I'm thinking that $80 for a piece of plastic and 4oz of fluid for that Spin Clean machine is just...no.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:34pm dDDJJJ666:

I just yell at my records until they are clean.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:34pm Rich in Washington:

I've gotten into the habit of cleaning all of my thrift store records when I bring 'em home. Lots of moldy, grimy or nicotine stained records...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:35pm DCE:

haha--thanks group!
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:35pm glenn:

try the thinned down white glue treatment. people swear by it, apparently.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:35pm DDDJJJ666:

I go to thrift stores and put mold, grime and nicotine on the good ones.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:36pm Rich in Washington:

I haven't tried it yet. The tikes on Reddit Vinyl are obsessed by it apparently.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:38pm DDDJJJ666:

At Crossroads Records we use a friend's tincture called Murray' sMagical Miracle Elixer that works to great effect. Even on African records. Which are often covered in Africa.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

I hit the Sonic Recollections dude up for a drop of Photoflo every six months or so... He's got a lifetime supply for everyone, apparently...
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:40pm DDDJJJ666:

I love this VIF, but it does bear some remarkable similarities to a Bauhaus B-side.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:40pm DDDJJJ666:

I think Jeff excretes it.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:41pm Rich in Washington:

@DDDJJJ666: I was just thinking the same thing! It sounds like it could be the flip to Bela Lugosi's Dead.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:42pm Rich in Washington:

Maybe. I've seen him squeeze it out of a bottle but I don't ask how he fills the bottle. Works either way.
Avatar Tue. 4/1/14 2:42pm glenn:

yeah, bauhaus. there's 15 minutes i'll never get back.
