ulaan khol, yay! i'm pretty sure there is absolutely nothing steven r. smith could do that i would not love. the man could just sit quietly in a room next to a guitar for an hour, and i'd pay to hear it.

Thanks, DK! Did you hear the set Steve recorded fer my show back in the day? Halooooo, Cliff & Fleep!
  Sun. 3/23/14 8:42pm P-90:

Did you guys know that "hello" was not a common greeting in English until the telephone came into use? There was some debate over what one would say when answering the phone. Someone, maybe Edison but don't quote me, suggested "haloo!", which was a common call used by riverboat crews to greet other ships, especially to make their presence known in poor visibility conditions to avoid collisions. So "haloo!" became the accepted way to shout into a primitive telephone to let the party calling know one was on the line. The call of "haloo" became the word "hello" and is now the most common English greeting in any circumstance
Avatar Sun. 3/23/14 8:43pm dk:

! no, didn't hear that set. gonna hafta trawll the archives, clearly.

the ending/returning album is particularly awesome for the way you hear the same guy come at the same composition with the same instrumentation from two different directions and produce such radically different results.

also, great segue into fennesz.
