Never an Allen wrench around when you need one, always one when you don't
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:13pm fred:

Hello Kurt and listeners. This is a nice Story
  Fri. 2/7/14 3:15pm Santos L Halper:

Will it go round in circles?
  Fri. 2/7/14 3:16pm P-90:

Much shorter and WAY better than the Toyah Wilcox tale
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:18pm Kurt Gottschalk:

g'day, everyone! thanks for stopping by!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:19pm Caryn:

Hello all! My bird is partying it up!
  Fri. 2/7/14 3:19pm Santos L Halper:

A lovely and delicate Mark Knoop fleur.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:20pm common:

look at that bird party!
  Fri. 2/7/14 3:22pm P-90:

little guy reminds me of my "white line fever" days
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:28pm Caryn:

That's the red-capped manakin bird. Known for its snazzy dance moves. Case in point: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:36pm common:

wow, caryn! the manakin is a nutty bird! that was great.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:36pm Kurt Gottschalk:

i like the two red-capped manakins dancing in tandem four levels apart.
  Fri. 2/7/14 3:39pm Nisus:

knoop, great stuff, thank you. greetings from gothenburg, sweden
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:42pm Caryn:

@Kurt: that is delightful. When the manakin goes up to the female and basically moonwalks towards her while shaking his ass is pretty funny too. The manakin has great moves. Whenever it slides out of view and then suddenly slides back into view, I chortle. Reminds me of the Ministry of Silly Walks.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:44pm common:

caryn: that's what i was thinkin.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh ! - Caryn's got that 'James Brown' bird for a 'tar !
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:51pm Caryn:

@common: in the Ministry of Silly Walks, when they cut to the grainy sepia film of silly walks, there's one guy who takes long strides forward, stops, and then takes a bunch of tiny quick hops back out of frame. Basically, 0:42-45 of the manakin bird is 2:35-2:38 of: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:53pm fred:

@Kurt: that Cornelius track was a nice changeup of a segue
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:54pm Carmichael:

Hello Kurt and every single person I can think of. Dude is sawing away on the violin, eh??
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& Minnesota Gif is all purty this week; reminds me of various Psychedelic Lights I've owned: I always sold what I's accumulated every time I moved - so I gave up really...now I just watch things on a computer screen all the time...like - uh...this...'Sequenza VIII' is kewl...
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:54pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:54pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:59pm common:

@caryn: Thanks for that! I member. perfect!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 3:59pm fred:

@RRN63: I'm just back from a performance with action painting under black light, with live electronic music. It certainly felt like a jump into the past. But surprisingly good
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- I draw a pretty straight line from Action Painting to Townshend coming out of Art School & swinging windmills & worse...
- nope, violin.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:01pm Caryn:

This show: definitely preferable to watching the Olympic coverage.
  Fri. 2/7/14 4:02pm Mike Y:

THAT WAS fucking awesome Getting a hummer via violin music made my day
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:02pm Carmichael:

Dude's a lady. My bad, apparently not paying attention.

Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:11pm Sem Chumbo:

@chocolate monk: read that piece in the Guardian. Scottish monks wreaking Highland havoc. Auto de-fe an option?
  Fri. 2/7/14 4:11pm Mike Y:

scallions is a great restaurant in saratoga springs
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:12pm SueAdynamo:

I don't know what scallions are for. For if I run out of onions? Or I don't want to use half an onion since, and well, what do I do with the other half? Stink up my fridge while it dries out all week.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:13pm Sem Chumbo:

Kiurt: scallion talk, OK. What would be bad would LOGORRHEA: pathologically excessive and often incoherent talkativeness or wordiness that is characteristic especially of the manic phase of bipolar disorder
  Fri. 2/7/14 4:13pm ?:

We always ate scallions straight from the garden--the white part. I recently learned that other people only eat the green part. MIND. BLOWN.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 4:13pm rsj:

chinese garlic
  Fri. 2/7/14 4:14pm Mike Y:

Scallions are a onion with Identity issues
  Fri. 2/7/14 4:15pm Mike Y:

Suck the scallion from the root up better flavor and its a aphrodisiac

Yeah! Classic Rock Kurt!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:12pm fleep:

Segue fever!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:13pm northguineahills:

Yes, I actually clicky starred Nirvana, and early Nirvana is classic rock now that it's 2014.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:20pm Droll:

I think the only remaining qualification for "Classic Rock" is it was released originally on physical media.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:22pm Carmichael:

If it was first released on 8-track, it's *classic* classic rock!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:27pm Droll:

8-Tracks suck. I am, however, nostalgic for radio carts.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...sconions - meh - I'm a French-Cherokee garlic-eatin' fool.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:46pm northguineahills:

Rather different then the other Sleepytime Gorilla Museum I've heard.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...they naturally have more than one exhibit...
  Fri. 2/7/14 5:48pm P-90:

@Droll: Radio carts! I wonder if anyone out there collects carts and cart players, now that nobody uses them professionally any more
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Dave M. likes Alice I think.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:50pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:50pm northguineahills:

i.e. magnet?
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:54pm Droll:

. o O ( A show idea is born )
  Fri. 2/7/14 5:54pm P-90:

@"Classic Rock": I've noticed that a LOT of music lovers under age 30 say they like/love "classic rock", and they find the term itself humorous because older folks (i.e. their parents, teachers, etc.) do seem to know, even generally agree on, what it means, but no one can explain it exactly; it's an "I know it when I see it", case-by-case kind of identifier
  Fri. 2/7/14 5:55pm LovecraftDude888:

Hanson...classic rock? not
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:55pm northguineahills:

megadeth seems so quaint. now, terradeth! now we're talking!
  Fri. 2/7/14 5:56pm LovecraftDude888:

dunno if I can take another hour of Frangry....such abuse
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- as my older brother said - okay - but *my* Classic Rock includes MC5, Stooges, Blue Cheer...
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:57pm northguineahills:

danke Kurt! awesome. Everyone, have a great weekend!
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 5:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& I'm perhaps not listening to the same three Wh♂ songs you are...
  Fri. 2/7/14 5:57pm P-90:
