it's a relatively unknown (for good reason) donovan song.
  7:10pm
P-9Ø:

@glenn: what's the Donovan song exactly?
Avatar 7:15pm
glenn:

p-90 -www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
Gary:

Holy crap, I thought you were joking, Glenn.
  7:18pm
P-9Ø:

@glenn: I had forgotten all about that! Good ol' Donovan
  7:19pm
P-9Ø:

Holy crap!: hahaha

Wow, that was an unexpected Donovan tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm

When I Google Nacho Patrol, I get Legowelt on the right hand side. Are they one in the same / related?
Avatar 7:28pm
glenn:

on reflection, it's actually better than i remembered.
Avatar 7:32pm
Jesse K:

yeah, it's another name of Danny Wolfers/legowelt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
Gary:

Aha! I'm looking at the Wiki entry now. He's got many names, I see. This Chinto Rulo action is awesome, btw
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm

Well, I guess I can take the Donovan tune out of my show queue!

@Pufnstuf Dude: OMG! I knew she looked familiar!

@Gary: what do you get when you Google Nachem Patrol?
--just wonderin', I'll submerge again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm

I showed my GF the chicken wings, Glenn, and said: "We're making these this weekend." @P-90: first Google return is Doom Patrol

  7:54pm
P-9Ø:

You'll notice if you find the "Nachem Patrol" site, on the right hand side it says "Legogelt", which is a kind of Lego gift certificate you can't redeem until you've been Bar Mitvah'd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
Uncle Michael:

I plan to make a Cross pen and pencil set out of Lego.

Am I the only one having the stream jump in and out? sometimes into the GTDS programming, and sometimes into the abyss?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm
Gary:

Nope, I've had it happening the whole sho, NGH
  8:04pm
P-9Ø:

@ngh: try closing the stream and reopening it from the FMU homepage
  8:05pm
P-9Ø:

@ngh: Just remember: never ever cross the streams
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm
northguineahills:

ok, I'll try the pop-up. Nothing else has been consistent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
Gary:

I just tried what P-90, or rather 9Ø, said, maybe that will work.
  8:07pm
P-9Ø:

I've found in general the Pop-Up is most reliable, for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
northguineahills:

arggghh, same result...
  8:10pm
P-9Ø:

Uhh.. kenzo or some technical demigod out there? Yoo-hoo! Is there like a horn you blow when you're in trouble, or like a Bat Signal?
Avatar 8:10pm
Jesse K:

rats rats rats! I was having internet connectivity issues before the show started but thought they were ironed out. problem might be on my end...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
Gary:

Yeah, dang, still happening to me, too :( ... maybe I'll try pop up, or rather pØp up, now, too
Avatar 8:13pm
Jesse K:

I'll try something...could be a disaster but could fix the problem
  8:14pm
P-9Ø:

@Jesse: I'm getting it now. Closing the player and restarting works---for a while. There should be a "Help" button on here, like an intercom to the engine room to let them know when things get fluttery
Avatar 8:15pm
Jesse K:

you'll know if it's a disaster because I'll drop off totally but tell me if the hiccups are still there...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
northguineahills:

Same thing is happening on Mac's regular WFMU stream. All of WFMU pages are slower then xmas.
Avatar 8:15pm
fleep:

Bracing for impact.
  8:16pm
P-9Ø:

Jesse: are you a control guy?
Avatar 8:16pm
Jesse K:

ok, maybe it isn't me then...so hard to tell from this end.
Avatar 8:18pm
Jesse K:

A control guy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Uncle Michael:

kaos?
  8:22pm
P-9Ø:

Like are you one of the techs that manages the internet stuff?
FYI: it will actually stop stuttering for a couple mins. even if I just click the play button on Pop-Up on and off. Then back to oscillating
Avatar 8:23pm
Jesse K:

evidently I'm an out of control guy...should be back up now.
I'm not a tech, I broadcast remotely from Providence RI so I'm not even at the physical station.
  8:24pm
The Chief:

Careful gentlemen. Maintain cover even when panicking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm

Facebook is down, but most other pages are working.
  8:28pm
P-9Ø:

Rhode Island? What's the temp in Rhode Island? is it snowing?
Do you have a remote DJ hotline to HQ in Jersey City?

ngh: I'm seeing WFMU Facebook page OK. I'll look at Scharpling's page if I have to, I usually avoid it, those fucking FOT weirdos
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Uncle Michael:

Scharpling is history.
Avatar 8:30pm
fleep:

The 128k stream via RealPlayer works fine, no stutter so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
northguineahills:

WFMU's pages are fine, the other streams, including the main one is choppy.
  8:30pm
P-9Ø:

Is that GIF messing with the signal? I still don't trust those Reds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
Gary:

Totally loving this ... and not just b/c he keeps saying "ohhh yeah"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
Uncle Michael:

Yes. This is groovy.
Avatar 8:34pm
Jesse K:

found it!
Avatar 8:35pm
Jesse K:

well, not the exact one I was looking for but a belkis unluses cover version
  8:35pm
P-9Ø:

@Puf: You're right, his page is gone, now there's just one of those "topic pages" with picture of Zach Gakifianakis etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm
Gary:

Jesus God this rocks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38pm
Uncle Michael:

I guess they had to let him go. It just wasn't working out.
  8:40pm
P-9Ø:

@Jesse: Yes, that belly dance disco thing was great
Pop-Up stable for 6-7 mins. now, some control guy must have done something
@FMU tech team: Thanks!
Avatar 8:40pm
Jesse K:

@P-9Ø, it's 18 degrees here and windy. Though I'm inside right now so it's in the low 60's
@Gary, it's a side for side cover of the Arif Sag single with his awesome version of Osman Pehlivan, though with Belkis singing on both, =one really good record
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
Gary:

I admit to being easily bowled over by the Turks, but still. Oh, and what was the song before her? It's not in the playlist. (The "ohh yeah" song)
  8:44pm
P-9Ø:

@Puf, no i'm not living under a rock, I know Best Show took a powder, I think you could ask shepherds in Khyber and they'd say they'd heard about it. Or at least anyone who reads The New York Times, Wall St Journal, etc.
--I just thought maybe his FMU FB page might have lingered.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm
Uncle Michael:

Tom took a powder but I'm puffin' stuff.
  8:47pm
P-9Ø:

That was the most widely-reported demise of a cult radio show on a college/former college/independent radio station in history
  8:49pm
P-9Ø:

Maybe flipside's in English
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm
northguineahills:

I have to admit, I've never listened to Tom Sharpling....
Avatar 8:49pm
Jesse K:

everyone's required to admit that
  8:53pm
P-9Ø:

The announcement that Best Show was ending reached an audience ten thousand times the size of his actual audience
  8:53pm
P-9Ø:

"listenership"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm

Going out with a bang, Jesse!
