Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:07am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I thot 'When You're Strange' was a decent little documentary.
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:07am Julie:

I haven't actually seen that, it's in my queue but just haven't been in the mood.
  Thu. 1/16/14 4:08am mourning breath:

warm groovy vinyl distorto every spin different even with old worn doors
  Thu. 1/16/14 4:09am Longtime Listener:

I use to like the doors. But the classic rock station played them so often I am burned out listening to them
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:10am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- it goes real quick - but on the 2nd pass I thot that made sense, as that is what happened to all those late 60s people - a speeding train too hard to jump off in just a few years...& you got Johnny Depp, as any kewl doc must have by law now...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:13am Julie:

I wonder if Depp could've played him, was never real happy with Val
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:17am Julie:

I've got something quite different after this Genesis, hope you guys like it :)
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:19am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yerknow - I go back & forth on the Ollie Stone...I think people are entitled to their impressions - but the problem is only one guy in Hollywood gets the big budget & makes the DocuDramma - & that's what the masses see...That's part of why I like the 'Strange' doc so much; I mean - Morrison was already a charismatic actor & filmmaker himself: that's the problem w/ Actors doing our RawkShamans - it's already been done by them, in a way - so just give me a really good documentary, but that doesn't make big money, Drammas do...
- & speaking of Strange - I hope Depp plays Dr. Strange - he's be perfect for that...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:20am Julie:

It's a deal for him, isn't it?
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:23am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- the word now is Depp is too busy w/ more Pirates & Alice - but c'mon - Depp ~ Dr. Strange - gets my vote !...
  Thu. 1/16/14 4:31am mourning breath:

court of the crimson king
  Thu. 1/16/14 4:36am Meghan:

Wow, massive DCD conversation earlier!
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:41am Julie:

Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:43am beavoux:

Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:45am Julie:

Oh most certainly tiger
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:46am Julie:

I say with absolutely no authority
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:47am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- well - 1986 was Year of Fire Tiger - so...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:48am beavoux:

Odessa steps?
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:49am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I mean - @ best he's marrying a stranger - right?...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:51am Julie:

Some people like that kind of thing
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:52am Julie:

Wonder if that's how Fripp met Toyah, found her behind some door
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:57am beavoux:

I believe
They were in your studio with Sunday all over the world around 89.
  Thu. 1/16/14 4:58am Meghan:

Well you did your plan.... Long prog cuts...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:58am Julie:

Yes they sure were, with Dave Mandl. I digitized their interview we need to get it on the blog
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:59am Julie:

Meghan you missed the long gothy cuts :)
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 4:59am beavoux:

Rick Wright:
underrated songwriter, especially evident in Floyd's early post-Syd-period.
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:11am Julie:

Yeah isn't Saucerful mostly him?
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:11am Julie:

Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:14am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- I like that the tune makes Marxism personal...
- & Thx for Renaissance - as a Yardbirds fan I've wanted to hear more (for one reason)...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:16am Guido (Cologne):

Not Quantity-wise but possibly quality-wise.
And he wrote the better songs from pre-Saucer-Singles, like "paintbox" (interesting song about life in show-biz).
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:17am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- indeed! - Waters cast such a long shadow...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:17am Guido (Cologne):

"Prologue" is post-Relf line-up
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Thx Guido !
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:20am Julie:

oh yeah paintbox is a good one. Does he have solo stuff I should check out?
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:23am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- has been remarked that post-Syd Floyd was paradoxically huge, but the individuals did not become iconic like in other huge bands...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:25am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...until later anyway ('Oh Waters!' - 'Oh Gilmour!')...
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:29am Guido (Cologne):

@Julie ...

Just asking myself, never find NYPC (aka New Young Pony Club) and Ana Calvi on your playlists, though they would fit so well in the colouring of your shows.

Am I wrong? Random? WFMU-incompatibility with Domino Records?
No complaint, just asking.
  Thu. 1/16/14 5:29am ?:

Wrights Wet Dream was good. OOP not on CD.
Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:30am Julie:

Avatar    Thu. 1/16/14 5:48am Julie:
