Sean, Nice to hear you on IBJ yesterday.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:19pm Irene Trudel:

Hi Everybody! Yeah, kind of obvious I know but I couldn't resist after the Record Fair. Nice seeing you too, Kevin!
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:20pm Guido (Cologne):

Beautiful start.
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 12:21pm tim from champaign:

I was really into Renaissance as a young teenager. The AOR station where I grew up regularly played Renaissance. I haven't listened to them in about 25 years. Now I realize where I got my like of prog from.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:28pm Irene Trudel:

@Tim, so was I. Pretty much have most of Renaissance's albums. I saw them play at Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison, NJ back in the late 70's, and not again until about 2010, when they played a really great NYC show outdoors in the summer of 2010. They certainly were a big influence on me.
     Mon. 11/25/13 12:28pm 12539:

It's not fair that you have this Wieselman before the rest of us!
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 12:32pm tim from champaign:

I had no idea they reformed, Irene. I had most of their records too. Even their later "new wave" record. Camera Obscura? I don't have them anymore but I still see them for cheap in the used bins. Might have to pick them up again.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:33pm kat330:

Hello, Irene and all assembled now and to come! Been some really nice ivory-tinkling thus far!
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:33pm Irene Trudel:

Isn't it lovely, @12539? Just got Doug's new album last week ant it's really great-- no surprise there.

Hi, Irene.

  Mon. 11/25/13 12:44pm blee:

Good morning Irene and fellow listeners. The Charles Lloyd Quartet was most enjoyable.

Great set to start us off, Irene
  Mon. 11/25/13 12:47pm van:

"too many records"? Impossible. :)
Mon. 11/25/13 12:48pm Listening Out There:

Funny you mention Tennessee Beach. We were there a few months ago. Gorgeous spot.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 12:52pm KP:

Yes, Irene.Thanks. i just now smuggled the records and such into our place.
  Mon. 11/25/13 12:57pm van:

pretty solid flute playing!
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 1:01pm tim from champaign:

This Hollins & Star is great. Makes me wish it was 4 pm on a Saturday and a couple beers in.
  Mon. 11/25/13 1:02pm van:

Wow. Haven't heard Stivell in soooo long. I had his Renaissance of the Celtic Harp LP so long ago...
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 1:11pm Mike East:

had my first record fair experience on Saturday. So much fun. Great to see so many FMUheads.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 1:13pm Irene Trudel:

@Mike East, a newbie! Glad you enjoyed it.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 1:18pm Mike East:

<--- this one came too! we broke our record fair cherries together! Hopefully will be a daddy/daughter tradition
  Mon. 11/25/13 1:31pm van:

sti-VELL is how I always heard it...
  Mon. 11/25/13 1:51pm peter:

Great show Irene. always a treat listening to your shows.
The fair was overwhelming for me. Saturday was mad packed.
Tennessee Valley, up in Marin. wow, I hadn't thought of that place in ages. Truly one of the great nature places to visit in the bay area. it's like one hill over from Muir Beach, on the trail that follows the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
  Mon. 11/25/13 1:51pm van:

Sandy!
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 1:54pm Irene Trudel:

Thanks peter! Fun to share my finds with listeners. The fair's always a bit overwhelming but I love running into people while I'm searchin' the stacks. I'm definitely gonna have to find Tennessee Valley next time I'm out in San Francisco.
  Mon. 11/25/13 2:06pm peter:

it's the second Sausalito exit, coming from the bridge. There are several trails. the ones that go up to the mountains can be other worldly, depending on the weather. I once experienced clouds rolling over us, in bright sunlight. The marsh you pass can get so loud with the wild life... I'm curious if Doug Wieselman has a piece with that on it.
peace
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:11pm Irene Trudel:

I've not heard the rest of the album yest, but possibly he's incorporated some of those sounds into it. I'll have to ask.
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:12pm tim from champaign:

We're having my folks over for dinner on Thursday. Here's what's on the menu: brined Turkey, mac & cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, garlic brussel sprouts with toasted almonds, citrus kale salad, homemade dinner rolls and apple pie. Not looking forward to my mom but really looking forward to cooking.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:19pm Mike East:

no stuffing, tim?
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:26pm tim from champaign:

Nope, not this year, Mike.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:27pm Mike East:

that's what I'm in charge of this year. And I'm gonna make some herb potatoes.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:27pm Mike East:

...never done stuffing before...a little nervous, very excited.
  Mon. 11/25/13 2:29pm van:

Sandwich of sliced turkey breast lunch meat on wheat for me. Might go all out and add a slice of cheese.
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:30pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, I find the idea of making stuffing to be daunting for some reason. Herb potatoes sound deeelicious.
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:31pm Mike East:

oh they are...the key is to par boil the potatoes before roasting
Avatar    Mon. 11/25/13 2:31pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Right, I'm off to the kitchen to make a sandwich, you guys are making me hungry!
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:31pm tim from champaign:

Whoa, slow done, van! That slice of cheese might send you down the slippery slope.
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:45pm tim from champaign:

Glad you like the brussl sprouts dish, Irene. I've made made garlic brussel sprouts before. I thought it might be fun to try some freshly pan toasted almonds on it this time around.
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:46pm slugluv1313:

Happy Almost-Thanksgiving, Irene and everyone! ooooo Garlic Brussel Sprouts with Toasted Almonds, sounds YUMMY!!! thank-you, tim from champaign!
Avatar Mon. 11/25/13 2:50pm v k:
