Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:06pm kat330:

I like the "fun size" of most anything.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:10pm listener james from westwood:

i can't be the only one who has bought candy for leftover potential as much as for kid appeal, if not more.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...here's a small handful of chords that mean an awful lot right now...
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:11pm kat330:

Cowboy Junkies....ahmagahd....

We're having two nights locally for trick or treating, so I'm hopeful we'll have no leftovers this year.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:18pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Is it ok?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:19pm Bliss:

i first watched "brazil" on a videotape my parents recorded from hbo, while i was home w/ the flu. the tape cut off 4 minutes from the end. maddening.

Our last movies at home: The Conjuring, Salem's Lot (uncut) and Fragile. Not a serious scare in any. :,

Kenzo, you still sound ill. Hope nothing more than allergies.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:31pm Bliss:

I love my computer. Computers are 100% responsible for how my life unfolded.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:44pm Bliss:

My uncle's 1975ish cassette deck had a square light source right behind the tape window of the cassette, so you could look into the deck and easily see where the tape was and how fast it was moving.
Of course, there was a counter as well.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:44pm kat330:

You still sound a bit stopped up. But if the doc gave you a thumbs-up, that's all that matters!
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:46pm Bliss:

His cassette deck had wood siding.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:46pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:48pm kat330:

@Bliss: Is that a serious Bliss or George Harrison?

I remember 78 RPM vinyl. The walls of WSLM were line with 'em.

I love the broadcasting of telephone ringing sounds: it has the two-fold effect of enabling me to feel popular and missing any calls that I might actually receive.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:53pm kat330:

Anyone else get the email going around that contained Russell Brand's tract about politics?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:54pm Bliss:

No.
I searched and found it on my own.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:55pm Timeshift Droll:

Why are your callers so confused by the delay? Are you fluxing the timeshifter live?

Are the listeners who are not one your list before on your list now? HOLY SHIT! You *DID* mention my name on your list at 1:18, even though I am timeshifting by nearly a week. You amaze me, sir.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 2:58pm kat330:

Ahh. And thus ends the anagram portion of our program.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 2:59pm Bliss:

Saw a link in an article, possibly.
No big lengthy search.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:00pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:01pm kat330:

I've a friend who serves as my own news compendium. Saves the fingers. And any inadvertent running into nudes.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:03pm kat330:

With a stuffy nose, I suppose "news" would be "nudes."
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:08pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:15pm listener james from westwood:

At the risk of continuing to talk to myself, anyone else wonder if James Taylor started the nat'l anthem with "America the Beautiful" on purpose?
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 3:27pm Bliss:

Not up on that.
Last I heard he was singing Handy Man.

Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:28pm kat330:

I didn't see it in real time, but I saw it replayed ad nauseum on the nudes, I mean news.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 3:29pm Bliss:

Not having TV must be better than I thought.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:32pm kat330:

Well, my radio to tv ratio is still far and away tilted to the former. I was radio-active in the womb, quite literally.
Avatar Wed. 10/30/13 3:33pm Bliss:

I see.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:33pm kat330:

I hear ya.
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:37pm kat330:

So nice to have a name that would be seen in constant crossword circulation, like Elam or Alda...
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:39pm cklequ:

@Kat: or Oona?
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:42pm kat330:

Oh, yes, that's a popular one. Can't think of a better character face than Jack Elam's. [Kenzo, your show forces a S.O.C. style of commenting from me.]
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:43pm kat330:

Hello to my Radio Flyer! And my Chatty Cathy!
  Wed. 10/30/13 3:48pm john:

Kenzo, do you do the collages for the Best Show, by chance?
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:49pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

john: Not that I know of!
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:49pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

But I do them at the same time as The Best Show (every other Tuesday night)
  Wed. 10/30/13 3:52pm john:

Last night's Lou Reed sound collage was just lovely..thought it was your handiwork. Oh, wait...here we go....
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

would've been funny if I'd done it last night as originally planned (today was gonna be yesterday...hard to explain...)
Avatar    Wed. 10/30/13 3:54pm kat330:

Yes, this section works especially well. Happy Hallowe'en and e'en's eve, too to y'all! Kiitos and kauniita unia, Kenzo!

I forgot to say "hello" to "my broker" and "my driver!"
Avatar    Sun. 11/3/13 12:07pm Droll:

I hope one of the new features cross references player-time with comment-time. I noticed I'm less interested in reading archived comments when I know nobody is there to respond if I joined in. If someone types on an archive, and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a comment? Maybe that's one of the new features? I finished listening to the show yesterday, but am posting all my comments together now. There are dependencies, but the exact timing is indeterminate.

Hey! How did I comment on a show I haven't heard yet? Thankfully nobody responded because I wasn't there. Especially good luck I didn't comment on the computer related samples. I wonder how many times Hollywood tried (and failed) to remake War Games? Seems overdue. Shall we play a game?

Timezones was my gateway Negativland song. This was a formative record for me, I tried to emulate this aesthetic in my Tullis & Clark stuff. To me, Timezones is timeless (no pun intended), it holds up so well.

It's an odd term, but a person who breaks things is a "broker", and hello (goodbye) to you too. Happy Standard Time!
Avatar    Mon. 11/4/13 11:16am Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Droll, I've been wanting to do that for a long, long time. And my concept for how to make it happen is quite exciting.
Hello to my idea guy and my housekeeper, and "thanks to my whole team!"

P.S. I'm pretty sure Hollywood is right now or has just recently made an actual remake of War Games. Your sad wish has come true. I think the whole cast just stays home and texts each other.

The Negativland record was a request from a listener, oh, two weeks ago? In a different timeslot than this one, no less.
