For a while back there, Fabio was playing that version about every 4th time.

I think I may have one of those Milpath giveaway records. Doctors get all sorts of stuff like that, or used to.

Love this Fahey double 7", a fave of mine.
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 4:25pm tim from champaign:

I'm glad I gave Colin Stetson a chance. I had seen his name associated with Arcade Fire and Bon Iver which caused me to immediately dismiss him initially. WFMU helped set me straight.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 4:26pm Carmichael:

All right, all right. We're all here, and this is where we are. Hi Fabio and other abject failures.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 4:28pm Cheri Pi:

TfC-that was my entire process about Colin Stetson too! And I gave him the chance and we all lived happily ever after.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 4:29pm Cheri Pi:

I even won a Stetson 10" from the station last year.
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 4:31pm tim from champaign:

Speaking of honking saxamaphones, I'm seeing the William Parker Quartet featuring Hamid Drake on drums this evening. I'm stoked. I just might have a couple beersies afterward.

Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 4:44pm tim from champaign:

@Andrew - cool. Tonight the quartet will have Rob Brown (alto sax) and Lewis Barnes (trumpet). I'm not familiar with those guys but I'm sure it will be great.
  Thu. 10/24/13 4:47pm Dean:

@tim... Rob Brown is one of the finest reed players around. You're in for a treat. With Barnes, Parker, and Drake...wow!

Anywhere the furnace is on is 'lectrostatic shock territory. Our furnace is on, so the slippers are off when crossing the carpet.

Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:10pm kat330:

@Loren: Depends on your room temp. We keep a 65-degree home, so leaving until the next morning is fine here (with a MW reheat).
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:10pm Cecile:

24 hours is my limit, Loren.
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:11pm Loren:

let's say it has sat for four, in a relatively mild temp kitchen... possibly five days... there are a few cups, and I'mn ot sure which one has the freshest pour.

Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:11pm Loren:

I'm out of coffee... I feel like it is necessary...
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:12pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Caffeine is a stable molecule, I believe. It'll work. It may have hallucinatory spores by that point which of course, is a bonus.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:12pm Cecile:

Dump it out.
It starts to get moldy soon after that, you don't want to drink spores if you don't have to.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:12pm Cecile:

you would think it wouldn't get moldy, but it does. Sad personal experience.
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:13pm Mike East:

yeah, I've grown some pretty funky mold in coffee cups. If your gonna try it, I'd say boil it down for a while.
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:13pm Loren:

Spores!?
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:13pm kat330:

Loren, I used to work at a place where the owners would dare -- backed by money -- one another to drink from a coffee mug where mold was visible. They'd do that. None of them died (during my tenure IAE).
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:13pm david_:

yeah, it starts to taste like an old thermos.
  Thu. 10/24/13 5:13pm dorfus:

This sounds just great in traffic
  Thu. 10/24/13 5:14pm dorfus:

Thanks now I have to do is climb the Texas tower
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:14pm Loren:

Any value-added drinking the four day old coffee? Any at all? Like a cheap high?
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:15pm Cecile:

no, just sad taste buds.
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:15pm Chris from DC:

Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:16pm steve:

Loren i would think at this point your safest bet is a contact high by standing nearby as you boil it
Avatar    Thu. 10/24/13 5:17pm Cecile:

at least reheat it well like kat said
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:18pm chocolate monk:

Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:21pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

what about orange people?
Avatar Thu. 10/24/13 5:23pm Loren:

Feel good... teeth a bit furry... but that could be the Halloween cookies and smokes. Sounds like I should not drink four day old coffee.

Speaking of Anglo Saxin' charm, a few weeks ago I processed some old yearbooks for the large midwestern university I work for. While perusing the yearbooks I discovered that during the 1910s and 20s there was a certain campus fraternity that had 3 "k"s for it's initials.
