As a reminder, these collages sound much better with headphones. Good headphones. I have bad headphones today. I am sadder.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:09pm listener james from westwood:

absolutely true on the headphone count.

Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:11pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I want to walk the streets of the earth and hand out better headphones.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:13pm Bliss:

You'd have to give up a lot of other projects to do that.
It would require substantial sacrifices.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:25pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Do you have memories, that you sometimes forget?
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:27pm Rich in Washington:

I have found that with headphones, like wine, once you spend more to get the best you can, you cannot go back.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:27pm Bliss:

Do memories stay there, wherever there is, or do they completely leave and then return?
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:28pm Rich in Washington:

I just put my headphones on. You are right, Kenzo.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:28pm Bliss:

@ Rich in Washington
and your headphone of choice is?
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:29pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

My headphones, which I've used since 1988, surround my memories.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:30pm Rich in Washington:

@Bliss: right now, it's Sony MDR-V6
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:31pm Bliss:

@ Rich in Washington
Mine are from the MDR series as well.
Probably---2000AD.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:32pm Rich in Washington:

At home, it's an old pair of AKG K-240s, the ones you see in every rock documentary that's shot in the 70s - 80s. With the funky holes in the strap, like they don't make them anymore.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There is the theory that all memories are permanent somewhere inside the brain (or is it Mind?); consider 'memory trips' on psychedelic drugs...
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:32pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

MDR-V6 here too!
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:32pm listener james from westwood:

@rich: same brand of cans over here!
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:33pm Bliss:

MDR-7506
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:33pm Rich in Washington:

They sound lovely, don't they?
Not too much bass. Not too much anything. Also durable and easy to repair.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

You are made out of live things.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:34pm Rich in Washington:

@Bliss: MDR-7506 are great too, just out of my price-range.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...do we poo-poo Bose headphones? I know their EQ bias is not favored for mixing...I rarely use headphones these days - & resent not having sonic dominance over my space (having to where cans).
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:36pm Rich in Washington:

I need to see Russian Ark again.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:36pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Headphones leave an echo of your headshape
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:38pm Rich in Washington:

My ears are headphone shaped.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:38pm Bliss:

@ Rich in Washington
Maybe you are thinking of the 7509s, which are $700.
Mine sell today for around $100.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:38pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

The trailer for Russian Ark offends me. Cut after cut after cut...
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:39pm Rich in Washington:

My space has been headphone placed.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

@Bliss: I am even cheaper than that. I bought mine at B&H for less than 50 bucks. I go to their 'used' dept. and when they show up, I buy 'em.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:41pm Rich in Washington:

Yes, probably thinking about those 700 dollar headphones. Are any headphones worth 700 dollars?
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...seems to me Sonys short out quickly (...maybe my experience is only w/ cheap ones). Would it be so hard to reinforce the cord near the plug & into the earcup ? I only have Bose because they came into the thriftstore I work @, & the older ladies who sort the donations threw them into the dumpster!; presumably because of a bias against electronics (can be a liability in second-hand stores) - & maybe because didn't realize they are noise-canceling & need a battery...
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:43pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

MDR-7506, though a supposed successor to the V6, sound quite different. I like the V6!
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:44pm Bliss:

@ R.R.News
I have had my Sonys for about 13 years.
I did reinforce the plug years ago, but not the connection into the earbud.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:44pm Doug Schulkind:

I could imagine purchasing a few dollar headphones, but not 700 of them.
Avatar Wed. 10/9/13 2:44pm Bliss:

@Kenzo
Yeah, well, we can't all have the V6s. :)
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Used online, everything is $70ish
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:46pm Rich in Washington:

Sony seems to make really cheap consumer stuff and then pretty good, durable pro and 'prosumer' items. I got turned onto the V-6s via the radio station I DJ at. They use them almost exclusively. They can be rebuilt and are nearly DJ proof.
  Wed. 10/9/13 2:47pm possibilitywaves:

This is a wonderful, swirly mix, Kenzo.
Avatar    Wed. 10/9/13 2:48pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I think this playlist is going to wind up being complete. But my fingers are tired. Next time I will dictate into my V6's.

yes!! thank you, the nature of how vital and expressive each show becomes is always fascinating. : ) having a mind that is still developing as we all do can be similar to keeping very large exotic pet whose edges can't be seen, both graciously so and at times with some complication. : ) there are acts of helpful gathering and teaching, releasing, encouraging and mystifying in each one!
