  Tue. 10/8/13 6:15pm What???:

? That is why the government control of healthcare?
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:19pm Danne D:

Hi Chris.
Hi All.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:21pm Mike East:

Hey Danne.

I gotta get me some health insurance.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:25pm Carmichael:

Yo Chris. Yo, all.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:31pm Danne D:

Caving to the crybabies earlier on things like the sequester has only emboldened them and brought us to this point.
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:32pm Andrew Waterloo:

The problem with gerrymandering is that knuckleheads feel more threatened by the more extreme knucklehead instead of the more moderate knucklehead.
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:38pm Madness:

Having seen K Sebeilus fail on the Daily Show makes me less optimistic. The Obama admin message is altogether failing. You just can't help people who refuse to be bothered getting involved enough to believe anything for more than 5 minutes. Even if it might help them live longer, healthier lives.
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:41pm Madness:

Has anyone here shopped the "Markets" and found the monthly premium for an individual that's less than your cell bill (lets say $100?)
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:43pm Carmichael:

If people choose not to have health insurance, that's their business. If they believe the rest of us will pay for their health care through their laziness, they would be wrong.
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:43pm dale:

d'oh, posting o wrong comment board. the govt spent MORE on telling people about the digital TV transition... advertising and two $50 vouchers per household....thank you mr. bush
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:44pm Danne D:

Thanks for fighting the good fight Amanda!
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:44pm dale:

amanda - most of us don't have money to spare. we just hate mainstream radio.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:45pm Danne D:

FMU and the MS Society are my two biggest charitable endeavours
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:45pm Carmichael:

The markets seem to average between $150 and $350, depending upon your state and appropriate tax credits. Naturally, politics drives this mandate: the conservative states are refusing to open their own markets, which drives up the cost for their citizens and, in some cases, results in denial of coverage.
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:47pm Madness:

I feel better hearing 2 sane people talk about this. Great show! Thank you both.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:47pm steve:

what is Amanda's new monthly rate?
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:48pm steve:

i agree this is one of the only rational discussions on the ACA i've heard on any media source in the past few months... thanks Chris T
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:49pm Danne D:

It's rational b/c they are talking about the ACA.
If they were talking about Obamacare it'd have gone off the rails by now.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:50pm Carmichael:

Here is some info on the exchange rates: kff.org...
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:50pm steve:

hahaha. good one Danne
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:51pm dale:

my foil hat is on
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:52pm sara:

Well I think about a year later people who haven't signed up if they aren't exempt from being too poor, will have to pay a $95 dollar penalty per year. And btw if so many people have no insurance and go to the emergency room all the time, it already makes everyones' expenses go up when the hospitals can't collect those bills.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:52pm Danne D:

Logic behind Republican governors not opting in:
They are afraid it will succeed and be popular.
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:53pm glenn:

health care, huh?
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:53pm Mike East:

you stay outta this, glenn.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:54pm Mike East:

;)
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:54pm glenn:

i'm gonna reach through the screen and punch the first person who says canadian health care is free.
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 6:54pm glenn:

ha!
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:55pm Carmichael:

The point I am feebly trying to make is that people without insurance will no longer be allowed medical care without pre-payment (payment on the spot). This is the cost-saving hallmark of the AFA.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:56pm Carmichael:

*ACA*
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:56pm Ken From Hyde Park:

What do the job creators have to say about this?
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:57pm Madness:

Amanda, did you not have some great shows on FMU? They were great.
Avatar    Tue. 10/8/13 6:58pm steve:

glenn - what if the person who says it is themselves Canadian?
  Tue. 10/8/13 6:59pm Madness:

we should annex Canada
Avatar Tue. 10/8/13 7:00pm glenn:

it's been tried. we won.
  Tue. 10/8/13 7:06pm sara:

If papa johns could be called a job creator or even a source of real pizza I don't know but the owner of that and also the person in charge of domino's pizza both claimed they would cut their employees hours to avoid having to provide insurance. Some care taking or leadership that is. I guess they are just trying to keep everything they do at the same crappy level.
