RIP. Loving these sounds! Thanks Kurt
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 3:53pm northguineahills:

My apologies, I have low tolerance for most late 80s-mid 90s 'avant-guarde', w/ apparently notable exceptions.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 3:54pm northguineahills:

downtownishess....

Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:06pm Caryn:

So Czech has the word "matka" as well? Here, it means "trip".
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:06pm Seanbelly:

Hi Kurt, tel Keili hello.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:07pm Caryn:

In parenting news, I'm loving this (scroll down to the product description): www.ebay.com.au...
  Fri. 9/20/13 4:08pm adam_nspy:

  Fri. 9/20/13 4:11pm prokop:

Wau, another czech song!
  Fri. 9/20/13 4:12pm prokop:

Caryn: yes, Matka means Mother
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:20pm northguineahills:

where's that lighter?
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:22pm Mike East:

just shoved a massive seitan burrito in my face, covered in too much of the green hot sauce and now I feel even worse than I did before i ate it. Is the day almost over?
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:25pm northguineahills:

Mike, you're supposed to open your mouth first!
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:25pm Sean D. Daily:

Well, I will commit hamster murder! It's not as awesome as wolf murder, but I also don't have to travel to the Northwest Territories to do it.
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:27pm Mike East:

@ngh - no time! I'm busy gettin' yelled at by clients who don't ask for what they need when I ask them what they need.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:27pm Caryn:

Oh Mike, the seitan alone would make me feel bad. Add the sauce to that? Ugh.
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:32pm Mike East:

Hey Meast, that album is named after me.

Yeah, Caryn, I dunno what I was thinking. Too much BS today at work to put much thought into lunch...which shows how bad it is, cuz that's usually ALL I think about.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:32pm northguineahills:

Ahh, Kid Spatula, thought it sounded like u-ziq.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:35pm Caryn:

@Mike: hey, sometimes (well, in my case, often), food is just about getting something edible in your mouth. And seitan is still better than, say, surimi.

On a related note, just finished dinner (rice and a creamy chicken sauce). Meh, but as stated above, at least it was food.
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:37pm Mike East:

yeah, that was really the only thought with the burrito...usually I'd prefer something a bit more elegant, but a burrito you just shove in yer face, as I said. The seitan was because I've been pescatarian for the past two weeks...but that ends on Sunday.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:39pm Caryn:

@Mike: oh my, are you going to go nuts on Sunday (or Monday, depending on whether you are still following the pescatarian diet on Sunday) with your eats?
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:43pm Mike East:

nah, everything in moderation, you know.
Although, I've also not had a drink for that same period and with the day I'm having, I think I'm going to end up breaking the fast tonight...need beersies in the worst way
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:45pm Caryn:

@Mike: that seems to be a common theme this weekend. A coworker spent most of the day cursing at the crap he had to deal with with clients and pledged to spend the weekend going on what I might describe as a bender.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 4:49pm Caryn:

Soo, favourite superhero, anyone?
  Fri. 9/20/13 4:51pm scentymint endstinks:

Yogi Bear was my favorite super hero. He was smarter than your average bear!
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:54pm Mike East:

my stock answer is usually wolverine.
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 4:57pm common:

this is better slower, kurt. Happy beersies all!!!
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 5:03pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Common, I KNOW! i forgot to turn it down. my studio's been all fulla people all day!
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:03pm northguineahills:

Arthur? (from the Tick).
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 5:03pm Chris from DC:

And to you, Common.
Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 5:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Confound it! Every time I think I think I've come up with a new invention, I find a thousand examples of it on Google. I thought that "beerburger" would surely be something new.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:09pm northguineahills:

There's already a ramen burger.
  Fri. 9/20/13 5:10pm Marmalade Kitty:

Great set, Kurt!
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:11pm Caryn:

Hmm, my fave traditional superhero would probably be someone from the X-Men. Or Northstar. But most of my actual faves are characters that are not necessarily "superheroes", like The Phantom Stranger, Deadpool, Sandman or Heimdall.
Fri. 9/20/13 5:13pm green mountain man mark:

Going to harvest sunflower heads this evening. They are giant. 12 feet tall. Let me know if anyone wants some seeds. These grow huge.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:13pm Caryn:

Aw heck, I'll go with The Phantom Stranger. Even when he was a mouse, he had my attention.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:17pm fleep:

The Tick.
  Fri. 9/20/13 5:20pm Dean:

Thank you for playing a ska set. Few and far between on fmu.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:21pm northguineahills:

A different take then the TMBG's song of the same name.
Fri. 9/20/13 5:22pm green mountain man mark:

Just send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I will send you a few seeds to plant for next year. I would love to share these with fellow listeners.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:30pm northguineahills:

I couldn't plant my Mexican sunflowers this year b/c the landlord objected to my 4'x2'x2' planters I had on my fire escape.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:33pm northguineahills:

Ok, have a great weekend Minotaurians! Thanks a baker's dozen, Kurt!
  Fri. 9/20/13 5:33pm Marmalade Kitty:

They sound like whoppers, gmmm!I grew an 8 footer few years back!
Fri. 9/20/13 5:38pm green mountain man mark:

I think if you look me up in the WFMU friendship society my contact info is there. If anyone wants some seeds. We have been replanting these seeds each year for about five years.
  Fri. 9/20/13 5:38pm Marmalade Kitty:

Sorry to hear that ngh, how else are the sunflowers to escspe?? Did you ask him that!?
Fri. 9/20/13 5:40pm Nick Names (London) Bro:

Avatar    Fri. 9/20/13 5:57pm Mike East:

yeah - I caught the relatives on Nick's show on the way into the city this week and it made my day. Great stuff. You too, Gottschalk. Everybody, great job.
Avatar Fri. 9/20/13 5:59pm Caryn:
