@pss: When Marat is pointing fingers, well, that's all the evidence one needs really.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:19pm Uncle Michael:

I'm stunned by the presence of that pop star, Mose Allison on a D:O playlist. Keep throwing those curves.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:19pm Jeff Golick:

And we all know what happened to Marat: en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:20pm Jeff Golick:

Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:28pm Jeff Golick:

Indeed, @pss, as that doesn't ring any bells over here.

Here's where I nicked that slamming John Stevens record (pronounced reh-CHORD, like the British say): inconstantsol.blogspot.com... Links still work!

Phlogiston = dark matter and/or dark energy.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:48pm Jeff Golick:

@pss: Thanks. Should probably do more science before I talk about science.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:49pm Jeff Golick:

I think I was confusing phlogiston and "the ether"
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:50pm Jeff Golick:

@Gary: start here www.youtube.com... -- and we'll see you in a few hours.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 12:50pm Gary:

That very brief bot-conversation about who was killing it more, "man." Tears were streaming down my face I was laffing so hard. What WAS that?!?

@glenn! Welcome, and please send any leftovers c/o D:O Radio.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:33pm Jeff Golick:

@pss: Don't know that one! His name keeps popping up in interesting places, though. Including recent work under his own name.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:35pm glenn:

well, they were already leftovers, so.......
  Mon. 8/26/13 1:37pm Josh Weinstein:

I almost played Your Molecular Structure last night on All Soul, No Borders. I had the LP in my bag and everything.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:38pm Jeff Golick:

@Josh W: Great minds, etc etc. Same inspiration (Lavoisier)?
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:42pm pacific standard simon:

It sounds like a fine lunch, Glenn, but I needs some pigs in that blanket, you dig?
  Mon. 8/26/13 1:43pm Josh Weinstein:

No, I'll have to read up on Lavoisier. I have just always meant to buy that record and at $3 I couldn't pass it up.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:47pm Jeff Golick:

Totally understandable, Josh.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:49pm pacific standard simon:

Felt inspired to look up Moto Grosso Feio because of the rhythm section -- veeery interesting.
  Mon. 8/26/13 1:50pm Josh Weinstein:

I also gave you "inspiration credit" on the ASNB Facebook post...I played Meditation Among Us (which I've been carrying in my show bag for 2 months) & Montezuma (which I haven't.) So, thanks!
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:51pm pacific standard simon:

Damn, that's all the time I can steal from my job -- off to work!
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:51pm Jeff Golick:

@pss: Yeah, Chick on marimba. Thanks for stopping by; great to have you.

Catch you later,
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:53pm Jeff Golick:

@Josh: Hey, thanks! So good of you to note inspiration sources. We are constantly inspired by all we read and hear around us, and too seldom make the necessary call-outs.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 1:56pm listener james from westwood:

my high school math teacher came down to the chemistry class in an idle moment to give the chem teacher shit, in the middle of a lesson no less, about the committee of public safety being in the right on the lavoisier decap count. the chem teacher then returned fire by expounding on the uselessness of calculus. very odd. ironically, i later impressed the math teacher by knowing tom lehrer's whole "elements" song, but prob b/c lehrer was a math prof more than any sort of periodic-table affinity my teacher might've had.
  Mon. 8/26/13 1:57pm Josh Weinstein:

You're welcome and well put, Jeff. Maybe with a little payola we can make Moto Grosso Feio a hit!
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:07pm Jeff Golick:

Say WHAT now, Listener James. So your math teacher was a fan of both Tom Lehrer and the Reign of Terror?
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:30pm northguineahills:

uhmm, what's going on? I like it!
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:35pm Jeff Golick:

@ngh: More here: inconstantsol.blogspot.com...
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:44pm northguineahills:

I hate getting good links at work, then I have to send them to myself so I can look them up later at home.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:45pm listener james from westwood:

i think my math teacher was more a fan of getting under the chem teacher's skin. which was actually quite easy. he used to return lab books by flinging them at us from the front of the room. if he missed, he yelled at us for risking damage to the glass cabinets along the back wall. (did i mention this was a parochial school yet, or would that be redundant?)
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:50pm Jeff Golick:

@ngh: it's our unique burden.
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:50pm Jeff Golick:

@ljfw: so Reign of Terror it is!
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:52pm duke:

Haven't been able to comment but enjoyed the show
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:53pm listener james from westwood:

ngh: have you ever used instapaper to save links for later? or does seeing the emails at home remind you to check them (as they would me)?
Avatar Mon. 8/26/13 2:53pm northguineahills:

Thanks Jeffs!
