Too Much Information is the sober hangover after the digital party has run out of memes, apps and schemes. Host Benjamen Walker finds out that, in a world where everyone overshares the truth 140 characters at a time, telling tales might be the most honest thing to do.

Options August 19, 2013: When Romances End: Andrea Silenzi Guest Hosts

Tonight on the show, hear what happens when guest host Andrea Silenzi sits down the nice young man she's been dating to discuss how their breakup should go down. That's because tonight's show is all about how romances end... cause I just have a lot going on right now, and I don't think this is going to work out. We can still be friends, right? Plus, Grandma Phyllis will probably make you cry, and Seven Second Delay producer Laura Griffin helps tell the story behind our entry in KCRW's 24-Hour Radio Race. (You can 'like' it down below!)

This the last in a series of of fill-in programs, but please stay in touch! I tweet about my radio projects @andreasilenzi.

Next week Benjamen will return, and speak with Alissa Quart, author of "Republic of Outsiders" about the power of amateurs, dreamers and rebels.

What song do you want to go out to?
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:12pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Something from my jogging playlist, like "Move On Up" by Curtis Mayfield.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:13pm Danne D:

Hi Andrea :) Hi Everyone :)

First song I thought of was the "1812 Overture" - but then again there was a show on the making of Caddyshack this past weekend which probably influenced that choice.
Avatar Mon. 8/19/13 6:18pm Fredericks:

What if doing a break-up show causes a break-up?
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:19pm Ike:

A girl broke up w/me over the phone not too long ago, and I thought that was cowardly. But I sort of understood it too. At least that's better than text or IM or e-mail.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:22pm Cecile:

don't overthink it.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:24pm Danne D:

Hi Andrea and Danne and everyone!

Here's my Handy Heuristic for figuring out if you should be working on keeling a relationship going or trying to figure out how to escape:

Picture yourself still with this person ten or more years later.

Are you filled with a sinking, suffocating nameless horror, or does it feel pretty okay?

There. You've got your answer.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:31pm Danne D:

Heya M_f_S

I really ain't got much for today's topic I don't think - I'm not good at endings.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:32pm Matt from Springfield:

@Danne I'm not good at endings either. Sometimes I think

I always wonder what women are looking for when they ask for a guy who has good hygiene and grammar on a dating profile.
Avatar Mon. 8/19/13 6:50pm the glowing one:

An accountant probably.

What did you guys think?
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:53pm Greg from Bloomfield:

That story was a bait-and-switch on the level of "From Dusk til Dawn."
Avatar Mon. 8/19/13 6:53pm the glowing one:

At least she didn't catch the cold from that guy.
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:53pm Danne D:

Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:54pm Danne D:

Crap this is based on a true story? :(
Avatar    Mon. 8/19/13 6:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Incidentally, the balcony cigarette date death WAS real in NYC recently. In case you haven't heard..

Oh, was Andrea supposed to be the woman?? I thought the character inconsistencies with Andrea was a put on for the thing. But really haunting, submit it now while the story's still fresh!
Avatar Mon. 8/19/13 6:55pm the glowing one:

Oh, thank you Hank!!! Now I'm hearing it, too. Thank you for pointing it out! Thank you!
Avatar Mon. 8/19/13 6:56pm Jeezy:

I came up in late, Andrea, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Creative, thought-provoking and quite compelling.
