Listener comments!

Great Saturday morning music. You guys have been playing that Colleen record a lot--it's really cool.
  Sat. 8/10/13 6:29am Mark:

I have to say, this Kath Bloom seems like it's some kind of test--I'm not digging it.
  Sat. 8/10/13 7:04am Mark:

I respect your opinions re: Kath Bloom, and I like everything else you're playing so much, that I'll agree to disagree. These artists are all new to me, and it's really great to get turned on to new music, so thanks Jeffrey!
Avatar Sat. 8/10/13 7:09am T-Zero:

Kath Bloom is interesting in an avant garde Appalachian folk kind of way... It's easy to imagine folks sitting out on their porches pouring their hearts out in song

Chip Taylor still in the first division.

...had to try & catch up on sleep, but here @ last - haven't missed it all!...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 8/10/13 8:21am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I've heard of Anais Mitchell because she lives up here in NorthNewEngland (Vermont her case)...& I don't know much but I'm really intrigued!

- 'I have to feel safe' - that's a heavy expressed succinctly...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 8/10/13 8:46am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Ghost is a great song.
...'there is folk and country, for sure, but a jazz (vocal, at least) influence, too' - 1st thing that calls to mind is TimBuckley...
- In TibetanBuddhism you meditate specifically on your own death. I often think 'Civilization' is based on *hiding* the most fundamental & universal realities - how we get here (sex & birth) - & where we end up (death)....
Avatar Sat. 8/10/13 8:52am Jeffrey Davison:

Perhaps this has been this way for a long time, but nowadays we seem locked in a struggle between trying to go deeper and its opposite...running as far away from ourselves as we can.
Avatar Mon. 8/12/13 10:30am Van in DC:

Really enjoying catching up - thanks for all the lovely strings so far!
Avatar Mon. 8/12/13 11:07am Van in DC:

Holy cow. I've not heard Claire Hammill in a billion years - many thanks Jeffrey. I used to have "October".
Avatar Tue. 8/13/13 10:16am Van in DC:

"holy smokes" is right lol (about the first song on the album for Rachel)
