A reflexive, traveling radio production. Each show is spontaneous as a backroom deal, a different guest a different location every week. Two hours of trading records with friends, programming without a prepared playlist. Actually, it goes like this: Jesse Kaminsky travels around Providence and the world with a portable radio show, visits a different person every week and makes spontaneous musical exchanges. We agree to call it radio.

Just spraying it forward.

Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:35pm Doug Schulkind:

This is funny: I just got an email from WFMU's Becky Lewis telling me my show's archive has been posted! And yet, here I am on der air! If any of you go back to listen to the archive to the first hour of the show before the show is over, STAY ON THE PATH AND DO NOT STEP ON A BUTTERFLY!!!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:37pm Jesse K:

Maybe I'll just play my first set from the archive again at 740...
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:38pm Doug Schulkind:

It was worth repeating.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:38pm Holly in NC:

I really like the Rangda/Dead C split from earlier this year also (Ba Da Ben, are you here?)

I HATE the US house of representatives. (just passed that unconstitutional 20 week abortion ban) motherfuckers

I once went to a segregated restaurant in Bangkok. Black Thai only.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:44pm Holly in NC:

Oh, Doug, if you get me started on North Carolina shenanigans, I will stroke out. Seriously. I'm hoping to take the 2 girls I care for Monday evenings to one of the Moral Monday protests, but need to find a week where the littlest won't have to get up for school next am.
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 7:46pm hyde:

you guys are seriously crimping my plan to listen to the Folkways Classic Old Time Fiddle CD I got from the library tonight, cause I just can't shut off this stream.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:47pm Holly in NC:

Great cat, @hyde!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:48pm northguineahills:

Boooo, Doug. ok, you get guffaw.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:50pm Doug Schulkind:

My Tuesday show next week will be ALL bugs. Of course, all the tracks Jesse plays are now off limits. (Bastard.)
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 7:51pm hyde:

@Holly thanks! she's only got one eye, but she's a sweet little thing.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:54pm northguineahills:

Didn't Steve Shelley have a band called Mosquito in the 90s?
  Tue. 6/18/13 7:56pm Marmalade Kitty:

Bugs, bugs, everywhere!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:57pm Jesse K:

Formula 1 Mozzies!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 7:58pm Doug Schulkind:

Jesse,
I will do a shorter set coming up so you end up doing the final set of the show. It is YOUR show, after all.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:02pm Jesse K:

Sorry Doug, if I had known...
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:02pm Matt from Springfield:

There's a bug in this programming!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:04pm Doug Schulkind:

It's nah problèmé, jesse. The bug songs will multiply in time for next week. I have a mariachi mosquito song to drop, so I've got no complaints.
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:05pm Matt from Springfield:

Appropos transition from bugs, as Cajuns are just like the French, but with more bugs, hot sauce, gators 'n guns!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:05pm Jesse K:

I just cleared the low hanging fruit for you
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:06pm Jesse K:

do you want to switch up some set timings?
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:07pm Doug Schulkind:

How about:
I'll go to 8:15. You to 8:30. Me to 8:45 and you finish up?
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:07pm Jesse K:

sounds like a plan!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:08pm Doug Schulkind:

Seems only right you finish the show. Also, it will freak Becky Lewis out if she hears my voice finishing your show.
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:11pm Uncle Michael:

Is Jesse the K the fifth beetle?
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:12pm hyde:

I haven't seen teamwork like this since the Wild Samoans retired
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:16pm Uncle Michael:

Yay, Kenzo.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:17pm Doug Schulkind:

Jesse the K is the fifth cousin of Murray the K.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:18pm Jesse K:

I am the Fifth Column
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:19pm Doug Schulkind:

That's what all the ladies say, Jesse.
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:22pm Uncle Michael:

Nothing gets through the five hole.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:23pm Doug Schulkind:

Like a well-oiled Machin.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:33pm Doug Schulkind:

Jesse,
I think I may have deleted your Antonio Machin entry. I feel terrible about it.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:35pm Jesse K:

hahaha, now I added it twice all over the place. whoops
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:36pm Jesse K:

comedy of errors
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:37pm Doug Schulkind:

I'll let you delete it. Otherwise, I might erase the whole show.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:39pm Jesse K:

ok, I corrected my stuff I think. I'll let you edit until I'm back on otherwise we'll do it all again
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:50pm half inch washer:

My weird brothers: Whenever yinz cut over to the other, the stream drops for a few seconds and then studders terrribly - until I close and restart the flash player again, and then it's perfect again until next transition. STILL fun...but wanted to give you the info - I'll bet it's not just me.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:54pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks for the info, h.i.w. Have you heard the normal transition between our shows at 7pm and if so, does it do what you are describing then?
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:55pm northguineahills:

Thanks Jesse & Doug! See all of you Give the Drummerites next time!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:56pm Doug Schulkind:

Anyone else have technical observations to report? We promise not to hold them against you.
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:57pm Uncle Michael:

No issues here. Not using the popup...
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 8:57pm Jesse K:

thanks for the feedback h.i.washer. Not sure if anything can be done for that. Thanks ngh! thanks Doug for facilitating this whole ting!
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:58pm hyde:

good show(s). thanks!
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:59pm Uncle Michael:

Fun stuff, guys...thank you!
Avatar    Tue. 6/18/13 8:59pm half inch washer:

I don't think I've heard the same thing before, no, BUT - if I did i may have chalked it off. This I noticed b/c it's consistent. Yeah, I only tuned in an hour ago - if earlier, I could hit the 128k stream inWinamp and see what happens to compare. ANyway, it's not something that would make ME not listen. Hell the first time I thought it was a weird track!
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 9:00pm Doug Schulkind:

Good clean fun, Jesse. Thanks!

@h.i.w.
I'm guessing that the flash player is not constructed to handle this kind of switchamiggery.
Avatar Tue. 6/18/13 9:02pm Jesse K:

thanks everyone, have a great week there!
