Hello Irene.

Sean, did you 'enjoy' Mr Baker?
Mon. 6/10/13 12:13pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

@Brian, great, great film, the director getting smacked on the nose got a few people tittering
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:14pm specksnyder:

Afternoon, all! Great picture.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:18pm ChrisB.:

Gnarly photo, Irene.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:22pm Irene Trudel:

Hi Everybody! Gnarly indeed! A photo I took on a mile-high mountain outside of Seattle in 2006.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:35pm the glowing one:

Hi Irene, hi fellow listeners, hi NSA!
Mon. 6/10/13 12:48pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Irene, got to go, softball training, have to work on my batting. Talking of which and this is a loose thread but I am starting to lose the will to live with our Metsies. Have a great week everyone.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:53pm Irene Trudel:

Oh, Sean, that's being a true Mets fan! Enjoy your softball practice.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 12:58pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Good Dreary Afternoon everyone. But we have Irene to brighten things up. Wow.. Good Humble Pie!
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:00pm KevinfromBayRidge:

@ Sean. I presume softball is played on cricket fields over there?
  Mon. 6/10/13 1:01pm don:

Frampton really came alive on the early Pie tracks.
  Mon. 6/10/13 1:09pm Eric:

Renaissance! That voice!
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:10pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Thanks Irene for assuring a place for Renaissance on the FMU spectrum.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:11pm Mike East:

I've got Renaissance - Prologue at home.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:12pm βrian:

Wow, I haven't heard Renaissance in at least 20 years, but I immediately recognized that voice.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:13pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Go Annie!
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:16pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Saw them at Carnegie Hall doing the whole Scheherazade thing with full orch. in the mid-late 70s. Quite a shew!
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:21pm Irene Trudel:

Luckily I got to see Renaissance back in the early 70's at Fairleigh Dickenson U., and at the reunion show a couple of summers ago. Sadly Michael Dunford passed a couple of years ago, although I see a new guitarist will carry on in his place.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:23pm Van in DC:

Oh wow, I had a few Renaissance albums way back when...totally forgot about them! Thanks for playing them Irene
  Mon. 6/10/13 1:26pm Maria D:

Irene - Try "Strength of Strings" on No Other a couple more times. That song really gets me.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:38pm dale:

renaissance was first concert i ever saw, 1975 or 76. i think annie had an 8 octave range.

irene, do you have any of the keith relf / illusion iteration? jane relf's voice is awful, tho, but songs like 'kings and queens' is really good...
Avatar Mon. 6/10/13 1:42pm andymorphic:

this bowie really sounds like scott walker
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:44pm dale:

i was going to say that and thennnnnn - segue! they both covered brel's port of amsterdam, too.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:44pm Irene Trudel:

@dale, I do have that first album. Maybe I'll bring it next week. There are some nice things on that album too.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:46pm ChrisB.:

Annie Haslam was/is married to Roy Wood?
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:50pm dale:

i hate to admit i bought 'annie in wonderland' when it came out and have only listened to it one time . i believe i was underwhelmed
  Mon. 6/10/13 1:56pm don:

1st Rennaisance album has some gems; Jim McCarty and John Hawken in middle of brief tour performing songs from that album.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 1:57pm Irene Trudel:

@Chris B, yes that was true but I think they may have broken up. Annie has lived in Pennsylvania for a number of years, by the way.
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 2:08pm KevinfromBayRidge:

And of course, he's long gone. That marriage was one of rock/folk/progs odder juxtapositions
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 2:25pm Van in DC:

I can TOTALLY hear the Vivaldi in this! ;)
Avatar    Mon. 6/10/13 2:29pm Van in DC:
