I'm stuck around on you.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:10pm Ted Barron:

Well, all right! Big Joe.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:10pm Matt F:

Hey Ted! Lincoln & Henri still making phone calls? You gotta record those!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:12pm Ted Barron:

I try not to encourage that type of behavior. They could do worse, I know, but...
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:17pm Matt F:

That's why you have to record it without them knowing.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:20pm Ted Barron:

I'll think about it. BTW, You're playing some of my favorite records today, I appreciate that.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:20pm Matt F:

Stick around for a Manzarek anti-tribute later in the show.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:21pm Ted Barron:

Cool. I'd like to hear "Out of The Question" by the Seeds.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:22pm Matt F:

Got some Seeds pulled but the liberry doesn't have that one. Might have to go with one of the hits...
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:23pm Ted Barron:

All reet.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:24pm Dominick:

Looking forward to the anti-tribute. Meanwhile, thanks for the Monk!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:25pm Stanley:

This solo is the business.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:25pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello deah!! Wow, two GTDS's in a row! Just hope THE MAN doesn't crush Pop-up in the future (for as long as I'm on this gig, anyway. Diggin the Monk.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:25pm Matt F:

You bet! I love this album and this track in particular.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:26pm Parq:

Great seg out of Amos, by the way
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:29pm Mailman Tom:

Yes, I can listen to your show live now instead of archived. Yay!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:30pm duke:

Amos was always singing about whiskey.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:31pm Stanley:

Joseph!!!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:31pm Matt F:

Not true! He has one song about vodka.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:32pm Uncle Michael:

Milburn & the Drysdales

I don't know...IT JUST CAME OUT.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:32pm Parq:

Joseph Spence and Steeleye Span on the GDS stream the same day -- who says folk is dead?
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:35pm Matt F:

Someone once asked me why no one names their kids "Amos" anymore, and I replied that it was probably for the same reason that no one will name their kids "Pemis"
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:35pm Ted Barron:

I think that's Dewey Terry on guitar, no?
  Thu. 5/23/13 2:36pm Lore:

Hambone Willie always brightens my day --- thanks Matt.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:38pm Matt F:

Ted, could be but I'm not certain. Hey Adam!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:47pm pacific standard simon:

Link Wray's idea of "relaxed" beats most people's idea of "intense".
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:48pm Stanley:

Free-form radio, yeah!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:49pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:49pm Matt F:

I heard this song in the C-Town the other day and it sounded great to me. I recommend not listening to commercial radio for years, some of these songs start to sound good again!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:50pm Uncle Michael:

I'm with you, Matt.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:50pm Artie:

Paul 'Hair Puppy" Rodgers weighs in!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:51pm Ted Barron:

This record always sounds good. It's the seed that planted AC/DC, and Simon Kirke's drumming is years ahead of it's time.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:52pm Matt F:

Yeah, I hear a lot of Angus in Paul Kossoff.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:57pm pacific standard simon:

That's hilarious, Uncle Michael.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 2:57pm Uncle Michael:

When ska musicians cover Baby Elephant Walk, they never change the name. Ever notice that?
  Thu. 5/23/13 2:59pm Kristin:

Right, now that I don't work at a job where I have to listen to classic schmaltz any more I have rediscovered my love for "Margaritaville."
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:01pm Uncle Michael:

I'm afraid my flip flop is permanently blown out.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:01pm dvx:

Nice medley during the announcements - what is it called?
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:02pm Brian in UK:

Sky was out on the perimeter.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:03pm Matt F:

dvx: The Skatalites "Baby Elephant Walk" followed by Carlos Malcolm's "Bonanza Ska".
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:03pm trish:

The Kinks > The Seeds > The Doors ?
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:07pm Kristin:

Yeah, and The Doors > The Stooges.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:08pm Brian in UK:

Jim Morrison & the Three Stooges. Harsh?
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:09pm Matt F:

Not at all! They were a stand-up comedy act after all.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:09pm Uncle Michael:

GODDAMIT. I was gonna play this tomorrow.
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:10pm wild Neil:

Hello all! This rocks!!!!! Like Frank Zappa jamming with King Crimson in 1969...
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:10pm Uncle Michael:

I love this, Matt.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:10pm Matt F:

Play it anyway! It's a hit!
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:10pm trish:

Jim Morrison doing that Curly on the floor shoulder walk.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:11pm Matt F:

You misspelled "sucks"!
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:11pm Brian in UK:

If it was stand up he would have been indicted in Miami!
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:13pm wild Neil:

Curly on the floor like Homer does in ..,.was it the Illiad? Or the simplteonssss
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:15pm Parq:

"Hell no, I don't see any problem with you guys going on without him. Are you kidding? The kids *love* you! Geddoudahere, ya knuckleheads!"
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:16pm Dominick:

Eeeew-downtown?
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:17pm Kristin:

Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:20pm Brian in UK:

Sublime Frequencies would never let that one go. Love it.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:39pm Parq:

Kristen, if that show had never happened, just think what it could have meant to the men's shirt industry.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:43pm Parq:

Had "This Is Soca" on a cassette that I picked up at a street fair on Third Avenue. In the 90s, I played it approximately 829,000 times.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:48pm dvx:

Thanks, Matt! Great show!
  Thu. 5/23/13 3:49pm Kristin:

Parq, sorry, you'll have to connect the dots for me.

  Thu. 5/23/13 3:57pm Kristin:

So the Igster would have worn shirts more often. I see.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:59pm Parq:

Sigh. Too hip for the room, as usual. And of course, when I say "hip", I mean "bizarrely obscure". Great show, Matt, and this last set is blowing the roof off it.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:59pm Stanley:

Terrific show, Matt.
Hasta la vista
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 3:59pm Matt F:

Speaking of Iggy, have you guys seen this promo yet? www.youtube.com...
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 4:02pm Uncle Michael:

Damn...I'm too late.
Avatar Thu. 5/23/13 4:04pm Matt F:

Thanks all, see you in the future.
