Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:05pm Amanda:

Hey Lizardner Dave!!! You made it!
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 12:05pm Rich in Washington:

this kind of sounds like a Motown song, slowed down thusly.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 12:07pm listener james from westwood:

we welcome schmaltz on the fmu stream and boards. nachum would have it no other way.

Nutty Squirrels hitting the spot right now
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:30pm Skirkie:

Are websites still designed with Flash intros and HTML?
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:35pm Amanda:

Mine can be, is what I think I'm trying to say.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:37pm Lizardner Dave:

Dammit, Geocities is only available in Japan nowadays. What's wrong with people?
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 12:41pm listener james from westwood:

skirkie, if it's not flash intros, it's auto-playing, unstoppable music that gets my goat.
i still remember when some folks would get up in arms b/c a web page used frames. never understood why. not even sure if they're part of html anymore.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:43pm Doug Schulkind:

Part of the massive and wonderful Kenzo Playlist System upgrade is the elimination of frames on my personal playlist index page. (Using frames still represents the peak of my web-design capabilities.) ALL HAIL KENZO!
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:43pm Skirkie:

Transparent frames were the way to go.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:53pm Doug Schulkind:

My old dentist in Brooklyn was almost named Harry Moskovitz.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:56pm fleep:

Oh yes. Quite soulful.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 12:57pm listener james from westwood:

must duck into a conference call (why a duck?), but will subversively play the scenario in the background. :)
Wed. 5/15/13 12:57pm Dan in Seattle:

I do not like the name of this song one bit.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 12:59pm Amanda:

Don't worry Dan, it does not portend anything. (that I know of)
Wed. 5/15/13 1:01pm Dan in Seattle:

</anxious moment>
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:03pm Artie:

Step off, Butler.

Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:19pm Brian in UK:

Hello Amanda & listeners. Love the front page. Three chairs for Kenzo. You can see the full scope of FMU. There's more to life than DJs. Hush my mouth.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:20pm ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:21pm Amanda:

Hi there Brian UK! Agreed that it looks beauteous.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:21pm Amanda Nazario:

Hi ndbob!
  Wed. 5/15/13 1:27pm Anchovy Paste:

Love love love Laura Nyro.
  Wed. 5/15/13 1:32pm ?:

Wot no Dory Previn? Just kiddin'.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:33pm Dominick:

Mighty funky for Mr. Webb. Sounds like Steely Dan's 1st LP was influenced by this.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:41pm efd:

At least you were quite prepared for that eventuality. Thanks again for board-opping, it was hugely helpful!
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:42pm Uncle Michael:

Gah...damned work.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Carmichael:

Yikes, back again. I missed Laura Nyro, dang. My advice to everyone: don't ever become a manager. The pay raise is not worth the headaches. Not in a million years.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Uncle Michael:

I missed Time and Love. I shall defenestrate myself.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Brian in UK:

Luscious Jackson?
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Uncle Michael:

Wait...I work in a basement.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Uncle Michael:

Wait...will a loading dock suffice?
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:44pm Amanda:

@efd, I hope you three do it again, whether my schedule allows me to work the controls or not! I didn't want to throw a wrench in the system and be a king-mixer.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:45pm Uncle Michael:

At least you're clean.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:45pm Rich in Washington:

@Carmichael: I feel your pain. Recent promotion. Feels like a booby prize. No time to listen to radio like I used to.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:45pm Stanley:

Hi Amanda, bit late to the party but looking forward to a leisurely trip the archives later.
Brian good to see ya.
Echo your thoughts on the Amazing Kenzo.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:48pm Brian in UK:

Hello Stanley, Looking forward to discovering more UbuWeb. Lot of it is BBC related.
Just booked up to stayed near Keilder in about six weeks. Hope for better weather than last year.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:48pm northguineahills:

Wow, actually got here today, and since Penny Nichols.

One of my favorite drummers/percussionist whom I haven't seen release anything in eons is Susie Ibarra.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:49pm Brian in UK:

Amanda, just walked Spencer in the woods. The bluebells are in full bloom. Wonderful.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:49pm efd:

I don't want to let any cats out of any bags (sorry, cats) but I think it's safe to say there will be additional episodes with possibly another notable WFMU drummer taking part.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:51pm efd:

@NGH, Dave Mandl had a Susie Ibarra selection with him on Sunday, but I don't think he had time to fit it in.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:51pm Brian in UK:

Just play anything by Sly Dunbar and be done with it.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:51pm listener james from westwood:

@carmichael, my first fulltime job became a lot less fun when i began managing folks. not due to the folks, but bc it took me away from the editing, proofing, etc. they were doing that i so enjoyed. was a decent teacher of these functions, but nothing like doing them.
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:52pm Amanda:

Hi Stanley! Hope the archives treat you well and thanks for FINALLY JOINING US (looks at watch).
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:53pm Carmichael:

OK, I'm mellowing out. Serenity NOW!
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:53pm Stanley:

@Brian - you do go in for the remote places. You might catch nesting ospreys in the forest, if you're lucky and you like that sort of thing.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:53pm listener james from westwood:

will def. come back to this show to hear the 2nd half at full volume; had it on during the call, but needs to fill the room for best effect. loved the full-throttle first half, though!
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:55pm Brian in UK:

Stanley, I am good at looking upwards. Just can never remember names of trees, birds & flowers, & mushrooms.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:57pm Brian in UK:

Nice one Amanda. Take care everyone.
Avatar    Wed. 5/15/13 1:57pm ndbob:

Thank you, Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 5/15/13 1:59pm fleep:

Great way to start the day here, Amanda, thanks!
