Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 12:23am G:

Heard this on Joe McGasko's 2012 premium a few weeks back! Nice to hear again while it's still familiar :)
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 12:23am Matt from Springfield:

Ooooh! Is this from the Joe McG "Muddy Water" comp? This is a great one!

This whole first set is very lovely country in fact!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 12:26am Matt from Springfield:

I wish the rock band Fancy would cover "Fancy"!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 12:30am Matt from Springfield:

It was really great, Holly! Kick that connection's ass :P
  Mon. 2/25/13 12:59am Marmalade Kitty:

Good evening/morning Therese & co!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:00am G:

The question of the hour is always:

Is MK up really early, or up really late? :P
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:01am BadGuyZero:

I'm coming up!
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:01am Marmalade Kitty:

I have emerged from much needed and rejuvenating deep slumber etc..
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:02am BadGuyZero:

Hi Marmalade Kitty!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:04am amEdeo:

Methadone-logical.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:04am Skirkie:

You guys got that co-host schedule up somewhere where I ain't found it yet?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:04am Matt from Springfield:

Leave Scott W a message in his dreams, by thinking, whispering or dreaming it. He'll receive it and get back to you tomorrow...

Hi Kitty! "Sleepers Awake"!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:05am Matt from Springfield:

Greets amEdeo! I'm sure you'll concur on the dream-messaging.

Hey Skirkie, haven't seen the co-host schedule yet! But Joe McG has announced his personal co-appearances!
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:07am Marmalade Kitty:

Matt those lyryics, are they Emmy Lou Harris & Rodney Crowell per chance?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:07am Skirkie:

I saw the sign up sheet during a volunteer stint last week but failed to memorize it.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:08am Matt from Springfield:

@MK: The lyrics I quoted at the beginning? Those are from the Townes van Zandt song "Dead Flowers".
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:09am amEdeo:

Hey Matt! Indeed. However, dream messaging IS a double-edged sword. Don't want to leave your mind open to any unwanted nightmare invaders.
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:09am Marmalade Kitty:

duh! oh yeah..
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:10am BadGuyZero:

Thursday night I spent three hours in the FOT chat while wearing my headphones out of habit. I mention this as I couldn't hear the show. That'll happen on Tuesday.
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:11am Marmalade Kitty:

all of the flower in the whole woyld are for you my dear
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:15am Matt from Springfield:

@MK: "A gift from a flower to a garden"!--yet all the flowers are part of the same garden to begin with! :)

@amEdeo: If only I could have a mental "security camera" to inspect incoming dreams before they crash in uninvited!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:16am Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: Totally missed the notice on the pre-recorded call-in show! But, this fulfills an early sketch on "Mr. Show"--glad to see it was Tom who did that!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:17am amEdeo:

Mental security cameras are our next project, after we finish writing that Telly Savalas star vehicle you pitched the other week.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:18am BadGuyZero:

@Matt: Several people referenced that Mr. Show. I don't think I've seen that one. I've seen many of them but that one doesn't ring a bell. I need to get the DVD set that has all the seasons.
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:19am Marmalade Kitty:

Did you like my Jersey City accent right there?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:22am BadGuyZero:

I haven't heard Popstrangers before. I'm definitely going to check that album out.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:22am Matt from Springfield:

Cute, Kitty! I thought it was a typo, but a Joisey accent--whadda woirld! :D
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:24am Matt from Springfield:

@amEdeo: Sounds good to me. Telly is fine for musical numbers, but my camera would definitely be on the lookout for Telly trying to give me a nightmare.

@BGZ: Apparently it's on Season 3, "The Return of the Curse of the Creature's Ghost"
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:24am amEdeo:

MK: As a recent transplant, I apprecioted it!
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:28am Chris:

Eff yeah early Screaming Trees! Thx Therese.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 1:29am KP:

Hello Therese, sorry I'm late, Zwelleger wouldn't leave the party.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 1:29am KP:

Zwellweger?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:31am Matt from Springfield:

Hi KP. Did you finally get Zellweger to attend your after-party as she was shooting scenes in your building?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:34am BadGuyZero:

Bettie Serveert have always been an underappreciated band in my opinion.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:36am BadGuyZero:

Toughskins were from Sears.

They were part of the school uniform at the Baptist school my parents sent me to as a child. [Yes, I know that answers so many of your questions about me]
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 1:37am KP:

That was lena Dunham. And no.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:38am G:

Did she remain clothed? I can handle either answer.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:39am Matt from Springfield:

Band name: "Th Grrls Wth N Vwls"
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:40am Marmalade Kitty:

Id love to see *those Golden Girls's rocking hard :D
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:42am Marmalade Kitty:

did I miss the episode where they played a rock gig dressed like RAMONES?
  Mon. 2/25/13 1:43am woof:

great show therese!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 1:58am Joe B:

Hi Therese, darn, missed the Screaming Trees!
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 1:59am KP:

Screaming Trees were awesome
  Mon. 2/25/13 2:01am Jim:

Great show, and that background music is so soothing after watching that godforsaken Oscarz show.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:02am KP:

G, are you asking about Lena? I only saw the trailers and cameras. But I did send her a tweet telling her to come up to our floor. Waited in vain.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:05am G:

No worries. If she'd come, she just would have said something depressing and then left again. Haven't you seen the show? :P
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:06am BadGuyZero:

Was that the same friend that owned Jelly?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:08am Therese:

Ha! No, but they were neighbors.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:14am KP:

I saw almost ep of the first season. I really liked the character who was her friend, the nutty one not the pretty one. Never really made it to second season
  Mon. 2/25/13 2:20am Lopez:

Everything's been great but ON-J is seriously blowing my mind right now
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:22am Therese:

I love ON-J.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:24am BadGuyZero:

The music is reversible, but time is not!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:24am BadGuyZero:

Turn back! Turn back! Turn Back!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:26am BadGuyZero:

That's what that voice says if you play the record backwards.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:26am KP:

I was listening to Partridge Family earlier. Does that count?
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:28am BadGuyZero:

One of the bands I worked with in the 90s used "Fire On High" as the intro music at their shows.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:31am KP:

Have to admit I had the Xanadu soundtrack (but it was a "gift" from work) and liked it quite a bit.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:36am BadGuyZero:

I had the "Magic" 7-inch. I was not allowed to lsten to the b-side because my mother said it was acid rock. I don't think ON-J ever ventured anywhere near musical territory that could be classified as acid rock.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:38am BadGuyZero:

Are you still trying to top EFD's number of Nick Gilder spins?
Mon. 2/25/13 2:45am James in ATL:

Really enjoyed the show tonight. Thanks!
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:46am KP:

Well I'm not sure if that is ELO on magic but it sounds like them. Anything with that phasey sound is slightly psych. Take it from Capt. Trips II.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:53am BadGuyZero:

The b-side of the "Magic" single was another ON-J tune: "Fool Country."

My mom thought just about everything with a guitar solo was acid rock. When I would tape songs off the radio I would have to pause the recorder so as not to record any guitar solo. Just about every song on Top 40/rock radio in the early-/mid-80s had a guitar solo.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:54am BadGuyZero:

My mom thinks The Honeydrug Moon is acid rock. Listen to that guitar. A-C-I-D R-O-C-K.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 2:57am KP:

Therese seems to specialize in music your mother would not like, ESP. tonight.
Now my mother would like have liked all this.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:57am G:

Tell you what, those moms know how to draw a freaking line in the sand.
  Mon. 2/25/13 2:57am Lopez:

Stark Reality for president! Yes!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 2:59am BadGuyZero:

I'm just glad my mom never got wise to the fact that I had recorded Slayer records over the Christian music tapes I had.
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 3:00am KP:

My mother tried to pick up Gary Duncan when I took her to a quicksilver reunion show in Berkeley. He was a handsome dude in that fringe jacket.
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 3:00am BadGuyZero:

Petra's "Beat The System" had "Reign In Blood" on it!
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 3:01am BadGuyZero:

GBH [the band] > WGBH
Avatar Mon. 2/25/13 3:03am BadGuyZero:

Have a great week, Therese!
Avatar    Mon. 2/25/13 3:04am KP:

Night Therese. 'twas fun as always only more so
