Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from January 15, 2013 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

I have flexed my boogie and am thus prepared.
  3:07pm

3 hours is a lot of Boogieing. We'll see how much I'm good for. The audio seems kind of quiet tho.
  3:07pm
Jeremy:

Is this Freedom Rock? Well turn it up!

the pleasures of the net: listening from greece!

Loren:

How will they keep this up without a ballad!?
Avatar 3:10pm
BT:

This is all pre-recorded just FYI.....over a loooong time (the two FMU sessions were marathon nights) Jesper fished out the cream of the boogie
  3:11pm
rizze:

I'm curious. Like that music muchmuchmuch. Greetings to Greece

Thanks BT and Jesper for this quality stitched product!
  3:14pm
Mike East:

3 hours of this, you say? Ok, I'm on board.
  3:14pm
DCE:

they should sample some Canned Heat in one of their jams. it would be so damned meta.
Avatar 3:15pm
BSI:

It is the true nature of Boogie to have no end, no?

"Twenty Minute Jam Getting Out Of The City" LP going for a cool $750... WTF!?

We get it for free, three hours non-stop... this is freeform at its best!!!!!!

Since when did Matt Sweeney join the band? Has he been involved in the band for long?
Avatar 3:22pm
BT:

He's played on and off thru the years but as of late seems like he's the center guitar man.
Avatar 3:23pm
BT:

This is noteworthy because now Endless Boogie are directly linked to Adele .
  3:23pm
glenn:

does it strike anybody else as funny that there's a guy in a devo hat watching an endless boogie show?
  3:24pm
Loren:

BT, will this super session be archived?
Avatar 3:24pm
BT:

That pic I took at Primavera 2010, for some reason a lot of people that year were walking around with Devo hats (Devo didn't play)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm
Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: Confirmed and verified by our Canadian cultural ambassador!

@ Loren it will stream, waiting on word for download.

What, you're not wearing your Devo hat!?
Avatar 3:26pm
BSI:

This one reminds me (very favorably) of the 1972 live boot of hawkwind doing "We Do It" that's been circulating for ages...
  3:27pm
Cecile:

An OH SHIT moment.
I think my friends and I made a Troyka album into a potato chip bowl in 1980 because we could not grasp the power of the boogie.

Well, $100 down the drain.
  3:27pm
Tom G:

Someone might be selling it for $750 but the most it has sold for is $90 and one sold for $30. People list the 1st 2 records for insane amounts too but they don't sell for that much.
  3:29pm
Cecile:

eh, I just listened to the songs. They sound about as dopey as they did then. Still $100 back then...
  3:30pm
Cecile:

well, nobody would have paid $100 for it back then. My friend bought it for .50.
  3:31pm
Loren:

I remember when a buddy who notoriously flipped records sold those first two volumes for an outrageous amount of money, over and over again. he's not that evil, just an unemployed record collector. This was back about 6-7 years ago when you could put an early American Tapes release on ebay and Rollins would buy it no matter what the cost. Oh, did you know Henry Rollins collects American Tapes releases?
  3:31pm
glenn:

dear new york mets: thanks for r.a. dickey. signed, toronto.
  3:32pm
northguineahills:

That's curious that Henry Rollins would be into American Tapes.
  3:33pm
Cecile:

Henry Rollins is into everything, it seems.
  3:36pm
Loren:

Maybe we could go as far to say that he felt akin to American Tapes and the ethos behind getting out there, like"out-there", man, and driving your van full of gear into the heartland and jsut destroying the joint with a brand of loud pummeling noise that could have only come from a place like Michigan. Or, maybe he just likes the idea of starring at feathers affixed to a cassette tape with gravel laced roofing tar wrapped with fluorescent green barbed-wire?
  3:39pm
Jeremy:

Great twist in that Top Dollar is himself a dealer of ridiculously expensive private press LPs. Bet he wishes he held onto a box or two for himself...
  3:46pm
glenn:

fuck lance armstrong. oprah should have these guys on.

This is great. Thanks to bro Ray up in RI for the tip.
  3:55pm

hmmmm. i bet they got to dopin' a loooooooooong time ago.
  3:58pm

admit it you guys, if brian was playing the allman brothers, you'd be hatin' on him with all your power.
  4:38pm
Loren:

nope... love me some Duane Allman... even the Boz Scaggs track he's on - smokin'!
  4:40pm

It could be Dickey Betts & Great Southern... them's some fine tunes... a bong rip would be nice though.
  4:42pm
cheer:

Hiya Brian! sounding pretty great!
  4:43pm
Mike East:

I just saw a poster for the Allman Bros. Band advertising that they're ONLY playing ten nights at the Beacon Theater. I got nothing wrong with the Allman Bros, but I feel like ten nights is more than enough.
  4:48pm
glenn:

it's due to inflation. they only had to play 2 nights at the fillmore 40 years ago
  4:50pm
Loren:

Wiki says they were scheduled to play the Beacon in 2010, but it got moved to United Palace Theatre... FYI - they have played 200 shows at The Beacon... I guess 10 is a drop in the bucket.
  4:53pm
Nate K:

Just tuning in now. What's been the ratio of boogie to choogle so far?
  4:55pm
Loren:

The Allman Bros. have been palying at the Beacon since 1969... the laast set of shows got moved due to an extention of a Cirque Du Soleil..."however, the Allman Brothers were invited back to the Beacon Theater in 2011, and played 13 shows from March 10 to March 26. The March 25 show was their 200th at the Beacon."
  4:55pm
Loren:

With all that, Mike East, totally understandable...
