FWIW, that Slade was released in the UK as "Merry Xmas Everybody". They always misspelled something in their titles to sound more working class.

@MK: 73 was the year of the Slade, Wizzard, Elton "Christmas single" competition, which Slade won saleswise. Evan played two of the three on this show. That year's "competition" really raised the cultural profile in the UK of the "Christmas single." Here's wiki on that, with a yearly list back to the early 50s:
