Welcome to another installment of "Put The Needle On The Record" and another in the extremely important post Hurricane Sandy fund drive - WE NEED YOUR HELP - so help W F M U out with whatever you can spare via the PLEDGE box that appears on top of playlist - Show your support for this show (even if u gave already) and for the best damn radio station there is - to keep us on the air. ......Today I am joined in the studio by my man amEdeo who also hosts his own great WFMU show on late Sunday/early Mondays "Ohhhh, The Sweet Sounds of Humanity!" -Today, as PTNOTR producer, amEdeo will handle the playlist, comments board, phones, and ticket giveways. Am kicking off this week's show with an excerpt from my very first show I did for WFMU ten years ago. It was for WFMU's ever open minded Music Director Brian Turner who invited me to submit a special one hour show for his (sadly defunct) Re:Mixology series that he curated a decade ago during the summer seasons. You can find the full show in the WFMU archives - but today I will play the first 19 minutes or so of the session that was recorded in the Bay Area for Brain and WFMU......In the spirit of last week's show - during which I played some old call in raps from my KALX days - I am inviting folks to part take in a test call in rap session today. Are you man/woman enough to rap on the air live over the phone? Yes you are. So when I announce it (in the last third of show) be ready to do so - ya heard? /////// The photos on top and bottom of playlist were both taken this week at the (must see and free) Tatzu Nishi's Discovering Columbus exhibition at Columbus Circle - that got extended until December 2nd......It is amazing and is worth it just for the view of Central Park and the rest of NYC u can see from its perch. -------THANK U for listening to W F M U -
