Options Brian Turner: Playlist from November 13, 2012 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Tue. 11/13/12 3:09pm Matt from Springfield:

WFMU: Will get you laid in the 70s better than any other modern radio station.
  Tue. 11/13/12 3:09pm kata:

I just heard this ethnographic farce record a couple weeks ago. The beat-poet track is hilarious.
Tue. 11/13/12 3:14pm Matt from Springfield:

Hi kata!
Thanks for the rec--so it's actually a new parody, masquerading as a very old parody? The sound production was dead on 50s/60s on that last one!
  Tue. 11/13/12 3:17pm Cheri Pi:

Wow!!! Hi BT & the gang.
Tue. 11/13/12 3:19pm Matt from Springfield:

Here, here! The gang's...partially here.
Tue. 11/13/12 3:19pm tim from champaign:

Riding on the BT Express!
  Tue. 11/13/12 3:20pm kata:

howdy MFS -- actually, looks like it isn't in BT's playlist. It's a Henry Jacobs record. One of my vinyl collector friends here had us over for drinks and we heard parts of it. Was made in the 60s or earlier. Pretty funny and cooky stuff.
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 3:24pm BT:

Whoop, thanks for reminding me to add that! Discombobulated!
  Tue. 11/13/12 3:26pm kata:

  Tue. 11/13/12 4:26pm kham:

When all else fails WFMU can just use an old Yamaha sampler like this.
Tue. 11/13/12 4:29pm Matt from Springfield:

@kham: Ah, so the Joe Belock music is just an old keyboard sample? :)
Tue. 11/13/12 4:30pm Matt from Springfield:

And a Kathy McGinty BT Promo to boot!!
Along with Randall, you've gotten some pretty good "celebrity" endorsements!
  Tue. 11/13/12 4:31pm kham:

Impressive. What would it take to get Kathy McGinty to do my voice mail message I wonder...

  Tue. 11/13/12 5:52pm northguineahills:

Always love Philip Corner. Been missing a lot, trying to unclog ye ol' crapper. This is the first time the plunger hasn't been effective w/in 10 minutes.
  Tue. 11/13/12 5:56pm Crapper:

  Fri. 11/16/12 5:48pm Fish Eye:

You make a little mistake about Dva zagorodnyh doma/Post-Materialists split cassette. The track you have broadcasted written and performed by Post-Materialists, not Dva Zagorodnyh Doma
