THE DAMNED live/Hurricane Rebroadcast Appeal!
By now u guys must have heard Frankenstorm Sandy has hit the NY/NJ area. As far as i know all WFMU staffers are safe. Myself & family are ok, but i have no power, water, heat, TV, Net etc. I had to flee to my mom's house who was unaffected. Traveling is very difficult from where i'm at: no gas, no power, no traffic lights & many streets are blocked by fallen trees& powerlines. I'm running rebroadcast of when THE DAMNED played my show 2009 (thx heroic Amedeo!!) & i'm "here" online via my spotty cel. BOTH WFMU transmitters were knocked out & the station lost power during the storm.at 91.1 still has no power. Now that power is back on at our studio and one transmitter site, we find tons of equipment damaged by electricity & water- all of which is needed to keep us streaming &on the air. Plus the Record Fair has been cancelled, turning a major source of revenue into a massive LOSS. So we need to get over the station's 200,000 goal as soon as possible. We're probably looking at a huge $250,000 loss! So please PLEASE use that form ABOVE to make a pledge to the Cherry Blossom Clinic so that WFMU can keep bringing you the rock for many months and years to come! Hey everybody, I'm checking in from my apartment in Staten Island. I was very lucky during the storm. I never lost power. My front yard is minus two trees and I had some minor flooding in my kitchen, but aside from that (and the fact that my car is running low on gas with little opportunity to refill), I'm fine. As you may have heard other people on Staten Island weren't so fortunate.

So please, donate to relief efforts if you can. And please donate to WFMU which was hit hard by the cancelation of the Record Fair, one of the station's few sources of income. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Michael K!! No I'm not at WFMU physically - WFMU is rerunning my show from when THE DAMNED played in 2009. I'm ok- but I have no power, water, heat& I had to flee from the area. I saw The Damned at last year's Fun Fun Fun Fest. Was hands-down the best set of the fest and far, far exceeded my expectations. They performed "Damned Damned Damned" from start-to-finish and most of "The Black Album" before having to end their set because of Austin's 10pm noise curfew.
