Mostly a music show tonight Chris (I apologize if you already said so as I'm fading in and out with work tonight)
  9:26pm
Skype:

That's ok, MK, I won't even exist in five years or so.
  9:30pm
Rob from Seattle:

Thank you, I moved from New Jersey last December, and I remembered during Hurricane Irene last October how much listening to WFMU meant to me. I had at least the radio to listen. I couldnt imagine hearing dead air in the dark cold. So vibes, prayers and thoughts to all affected.
  9:30pm
On the Yazoo:

Great show tonight.

I'm new to this show.
  9:31pm
Skirkie:

We all are, sort of.

Thanks for being there for us and continuing to play such great music.
  9:41pm
Mike East:

@Rob from Seattle - thanks for your wishes. Not hearing Billy Jam in the car after getting off work really threw me off.
  9:41pm
Skype:

Is it ok where Pseu lives?
  9:41pm
Skirkie:

Yeah there's a curfew on cars and people after 7 in JC. I guess be careful on the way back?
  9:47pm
Caryn:

Here, Saturday is All Saints' Day. We're on a slightly different schedule. Which makes me wonder whether the few Catholics over here still have All Souls' Day at the same time as you do? Hmm...

  9:59pm
Marmalade Kitty:

The statue of "Liberty" survived the storm..?
  10:01pm
?:

Hey Chris,
It sounds as if you've made it through the storm relatively unscathed. I hope that is the case. I have a question, that I don't know if you can answer. But here goes. Can't the record fair be postponed slightly as opposed to being canceled completely? Revenue for WFMU and a wonderful weekend for all of us that love the RF. Answer if you are able. Thanks for being here tonight. Be well.

spidermank:

Hey Billy , great show tonight. I've been reading posts on an "alternative news" site about peoles positive stories of how people have been helping each other in the wake of sandy, warms the cockles of mi heart how most people just want to have a good time and help each other.
Respect and thanks to all the WFMU crew.
  10:05pm
Billy Jam:

hey Spidermank - thanks it was fun doing two hours for a change....And yes there seems to be a lot more good out there than negative - from what I have experienced - with people looking out for one another.....
  10:09pm
Jett Brando:

Interesting Italiano phase here. Mi piace.
  10:15pm
Rob from Seattle:

Play Down in the Hole by Tom Waits?
  10:22pm
tomasz.:

nice
  10:23pm
Rob from Seattle:

Amen!
  10:23pm
Danne D:

@? Ken has addressed that elsewhere. A big problem is that vendors come from all across the country and plan for that particular weekend. Also, Met Pavillion has other events that take up its weekends throughout the rest of the year. That's 2 of the reasons that it's not possible I believe
  10:25pm
the duke:

scarcity of tanks "fox back?'
  10:27pm
On the Yazoo:

Come on now.. !!.
  10:29pm
Skirkie:

I have Skype but I don't know how to skype. Also not much to say.
  10:32pm
Snortley:

Also @?:
Another factor may be that, economically, the station is suddenly in the hole by 200 grand or more, and it costs around a third of that to launch the fair.
  10:33pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Marmalade Kitty: I wish I could say that. At my previous job my boss at corporate HQ conducted conference calls via Skype so "we could all see each other." My webcam was "lost in the mail."
  10:40pm
SteveL:

Snortley: Good point. While the fair brings in about $70,000 (I'm told) how much to launch. I heard WFMU was not getting a refund on the exhibition space. If true, it would be tough to go down twice that amount, in addition to other costs involved. Sucks, but I feel they will prevail.
  10:40pm
Brian from Rochester:

What record is this version of Embryo from?
  10:43pm
SteveL:

Joe Friday frightens me. I promise to be good from now on.
  10:43pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I believe Ken said that though the deposit likely will not be refunded that some of it will likely be able to be used towards the 2013 deposit.
  10:45pm
On the Yazoo:

Sorry.. got to go..
  10:48pm
Skirkie:

Poll: Sipowicz or Friday?
  10:51pm
Skirkie:

Or Munch?
  10:52pm
Caryn:

@Skirkie: well, Friday never made us look at his naked ass, so my vote goes to him. Thanks, Joe.
  10:52pm
Scott W:

chris, what's the music bed behind this "good 4u friday"? killer
  10:52pm
Danne D:

@Skirkie - Caryn beat me to it
  10:57pm
Skirkie:

Eh' I go with the "which would you rather have a beer with", and Friday doesn't strike me as a drinker.
  11:00pm
Caryn:

@Skirkie: well, see, I don't drink, so Friday would be more my type that way, too. Plus, there'd be no exes, kids or other complications to deal with.
  11:00pm
Danne D:

@Skirkie I don't drink either and we seemed to converse fine at the bar Skirkie.

Btw, Chris, I'm really enjoying the show.
  11:02pm
Skirkie:

@Danne I suppose that's why I added Detective Munch in to the mix. He seems to me a happy medium between the other two.
  11:02pm
On the Yazoo:

LOL
  11:03pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Oh.

My.

GAWD.

[my reaction to ORB version of 7NA]
  11:04pm
Caryn:

Actually, can I pick Kojak? He's cool, and I like lollipops.

Woohoo, Gorillaz!
  11:04pm
Danne D:

Yeah BGZ I enjoyed it too :)
  11:06pm
Skirkie:

I still know all those rap lyrics. Del the Funky Homosapien
  11:07pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I pick Joe Bookman over Friday, Kojak and that whole lot.
  11:08pm
Caryn:

I like how the track changes with every rapper they have doing it. What is it now, 4 or 5 versions?
  11:09pm
Skirkie:

Bookman was a hardass, I can kinda see that. I know quite a few librarians.
  11:10pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

ME TRIVIA: I was born the day The Stooges began recording this album.
  11:11pm
Chop Scott:

Cheers Chris! Great to hear your streaming company, sorry we couldn't manage the End of the World remote. We still have time...
  11:11pm
Caryn:

@BGZ: heh! I might take Baretta for a couple of days, just because of the funky theme song, but then get the hell out of there.
  11:11pm
Skirkie:

And if there are other rappers besides Del recording Clint Eastwood, I ain't heard it (but would like to.)
  11:16pm
Caryn:

@Skirkie: well, most of them are only available on documentaries and recordings of live shows, but the De La Soul/Bootie Brown version is on the "Dare" single.
  11:18pm
Skirkie:

Excellent. Noted. Anywho I have to be up early so best of luck on the detective debate I started.
  11:26pm
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

You make teethonade!
