A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

iTunes lets you "deactivate" the old devices. The 5 computer limit only applies to 5 devices at any one time.
Tue. 9/18/12 10:13am Tom in Marine Parkway Brooklyn:

hiya Trouble Hi Kids happy rainy Tuesday... ! I use loony tunes myself but all this stuff in the WFMU archives and other great sources and I do buy tuned myself time to time,, but all my old records gone now !! ... BOO HOO !!!

What a fun song to lift me from a rainy morning mood.
Tue. 9/18/12 10:16am George from Romania:

yeah, but after your death Apple won't transfer the files if I want to let them to my kids, is outrageous!

i really avoid itunes... and eventually, when i have the time, will install winamp into this macbook and use that exclusively. i use itunes for radio now, but hate the fact that i have to
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:18am SteveL:

Eeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Digital culture is much more like oral culture in some ways... You can't browse someone's MP3 collection the same way you can browse their LPs.
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:19am ausmanx:

pulp have been around a long time, but no one knew who they were till the mid-90s, whereas PSB had an immediate hit in 1984, so in terms of the zeitgeist Trouble, you're right, PSB hit it ten years before Pulp did
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:21am Andrew Waterloo:

I prefer Foobar2000 to iTunes and Winamp. Right now I use ziepod for podcasts but I'm not impressed with it.
Tue. 9/18/12 10:25am another chicago john:

Good morning Trouble, better late than never...
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:25am Jennique:

I went to the Yayoi Kusama show at the Whitney. Although I saw all her paintings and sculptures I was not able to get into the Infinity Room, which is what initially drew me there. If you do go, get there first thing in the morning and get a ticket for admission to the Infinity Room. They sell out fast, but at least you are allowed 10 minutes to yourself inside.

BTW, thanks for playing the Cramps. I miss Lux.
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:25am annie:

i'm such a luddite that winamp is da bomb so far. i think i investigated foobar long ago... winamp also allows for transfer of itunes data..
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:31am timotato:

Very Spice Girls-ey
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:32am dcp@:

what th-? I don't like this kind of music, why do I like this Kendra Morris tune?
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:37am Andrew Waterloo:

@annie, Winamp fell out of favour for me when I discovered table based playlists and databases.
Avatar    Tue. 9/18/12 10:37am trouble:

it's not the musicyou don't like dcp@ it's what it's clothed in...
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:42am annie:

aahhh!!.. i only use it for radio, some podcasts, and creating my own playlists.. i avoid all that pre-destined what-you-want-to-hear stuff..
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:42am dcp@:

yeah I don't like clothes...
  Tue. 9/18/12 10:51am annie:
