Back in 1979, I made the decision to accept Dr Demento as my personal savior. Since then, with the help of his apostles Spike, Al, Stan and Black-Eyed Susan Brown, I have made it my mission to spread the Gospel of the Firesign and the Word of the Waller. Please join me and my fellow seekers as we find the Wisdom we crave and the Rapture we deserve. A new sermon every Tuesday (and NO collection plate!).

September 25, 2012: Lifehouse
LIFEHOUSE was a rock opera by Pete Townshend that was intended to be the Who’s follow up to Tommy. It’s a sci-fi thing set in a polluted future where everyone lives indoors and experiences life through something called The Grid. Townshend had in mind a film, a play and a sort of interactive concert experience, but the project had a host of problems and never really saw the light of day. However, much of it survive as WHO’S NEXT as well as Townshend’s solo albums WHO CAME FIRST [1972]and PSYCHODERELICT [1992]. For more info, go to these Wikipedia pages.

I ran into many of these tracks while researching a Jon Entwistle podcast I did last June, and they blew me away. There are more that we’ll explore in the near future. Enjoy.
