  9:32am
BenG:

Once again tried to make an omelet the way Jacques Pepin does on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57afEWn-QDg
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am
Liz B.:

Sounds tasty, you guys (well, except for hamburger's sad egg)! For me, it was a tie between chicken adobo and white pizza.
  9:33am
Vfats:

I had a really great fried green tomato steamed bun thing.
  9:33am
hamburger:

though two weeks ago had a poached egg in some beef with cold udon in hot broth which was. prettttty tasty

I have guests in town and this weekend was pretty decadent... I'm nearly certain that yesterday must have been a 3000-calorie day!
  9:35am
Mickey Mephistopheles:

Linguini marinara, Greek salad, Three Heads Brewing "The Kind" IPA and mocha torte.
  9:37am
Vfats:

Hey Liz! Did you guys hit a lot of pizza spots? What was your favorite?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am
Liz B.:

Only hit a few spots, but I really dug Best! Thanks for the rec, Michele! Will hit the S. Brooklyn hotspots later this week...
  9:44am
Cheri Pi:

Liz B, I'm here quietly lurking in your beautiful sound shadows.

Yesterday = cream/custard/cheese-filled pastries, fruit, dim sum (dumplings/buns galore), beef soup with hand-pulled noodles, pizza. Today = salad!
  9:53am
Cecile:

dim sum, yum yum!
  9:55am
Cecile:

Best thing I ate this weekend was the lamb burger at Rachel's in Minneapolis.

Support this place! They are old-fashioned in an 80s ways and just lovely. They're like the first fancy restaurants who had good hamburgers with cloth napkins and tablecloths. I shouldn't be able to get into that place as easily as I do.
  9:55am
Cecile:

Also, if you get a cocktail, it's really enough for 2 drinks. And some.
  9:55am
DCE:

I hear ya on the decadence/fast routine. I'm feeling like I should become a monk today.
  9:56am
Cecile:

yeah, I have ground turkey and green beans ready for stir-fry tonight.
  9:57am
Decade in Exile:

The pork chop at my neighborhood Irish bar was pretty darn good, the slightly underdone fries notwithstanding.
  10:17am

  10:26am
BenG:

I agree with you DCE and DVD. Best day of FMA, yet. Liz, thanks for sticking with it.
  10:33am
duke:

Agreed. The FMA is an endless source of riches. I have listened to hours of stuff from there and still have only scratched the surface.
  10:33am
Parq:

"Battlecry" is killing me.
  10:40am
the glowing one:

  10:55am

  11:34am
Kyril:

Hey all, quick question for you FMU experts - is there a DJ/timeslot that's heavy on arabic/middle eastern music? I listen, but apparently not diligently enough. Thanks!
  11:35am
Chris from DC:

The latest DKs singer is Skip McSkipster from the Wynona Riders. Weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Liz B.:

Hi Kyril, you might want to check out DJ/Rupture's show on Wed at 8pm:
www.wfmu.org...

Or try Transpacific Sound Paradise with Rob W. on Sat at 6pm:
www.wfmu.org...
  11:39am
Cecile:

Kyril, Irene sometimes plays the more meditative pieces from that region, and Jason Sigal (who's currently on hiatus) always plays lots of middle eastern music. Check the archives for his shows. All the shows will sprinkle it in, but these are the ones I've encountered the most.
  11:39am
paula pc:

@ Kyril -- Doug Schulkind Give the Drummer Some on the stream too...
  11:40am
Cecile:

I think it sounds more like Ray Davies working with Giogio Moroder.
  11:47am
Kyril:

Awesome - thanks guys!
  11:49am
Sean in Bristol, UK:

Hi Liz,
