Thu. 7/12/12 3:07am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

"Nighthawks" is a surprisingly solid flick.
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:10am ?:

Good morning Julie. Hello everyone else.
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:11am Glovanie:

hahaha. forgot to put in my name.
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 3:12am Julie:

Good morning everyone! Taking no birthday requests, but I have something you will like later, Cheri. So have a happy.
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:15am listener mark:

I'm happy!
Bought a new shower curtain.
Living like a rock star!
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:15am Lynn Lockjaw:

Getting the mileage out of the wind instruments on this one. Also, LOVE the Moody Blues :)
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 3:17am Julie:

Shower curtain? Aren't we fancy!
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:22am listener mark:

Fancy? Yes. But not 'new soap dish' fancy.
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 3:23am Julie:

You made me laugh mark!
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:24am hamburger:

I think my yellow duck shower curtain will need replacing some time soon... not sure there's a better pattern than that
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:30am Mary Wing:

Wow, I never thought I'd hear someone cover Mary Margaret O'Hara!
Thu. 7/12/12 3:30am fred von helsing:

sometimes it pains me that the rubber duck has displaced the rubber chicken in pop culture
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:30am Marmalade Kitty:

Good morning Julie, listeners!! Happy birthday Cheri!
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:31am listener mark:

Park B. Smith Ducky Time Watershed Shower Curtain? Looks impressive! Where were you when I needed you, hamburger?
Thu. 7/12/12 3:32am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I found an ad for some old bed sheets that have a sandwich motif.

It's like Bed, Bath & Beyond on the comments board tonight!
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:32am hamburger:

I was in the -shower- mark! oh the chuckles are truly endless here!
Thu. 7/12/12 3:37am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I saw a "Psycho" themed shower curtain many years ago. I'm sure it's been replaced by an "American Psycho" themed shower curtain.

"Psycho" : Rubber chicken :: "American Psycho" : Rubber ducky
Thu. 7/12/12 3:42am fred von helsing:

francoise! pit-a-pat pit-a-pat
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:48am Orvan Taurus:

So this place is developing a Psychosis?
Thu. 7/12/12 3:51am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

:rim shot:
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 3:52am Julie:

"developing?"
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:53am Marmalade Kitty:

  Thu. 7/12/12 3:53am Orvan Taurus:

That or the place is Psycho-active.
  Thu. 7/12/12 3:59am Marmalade Kitty:

  Thu. 7/12/12 4:01am Chris:

Love the Nighthawks shout out!
Thu. 7/12/12 4:02am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Lots of Universal flicks have suffered music rights clearance issues for home video release. "Slap Shot" and "Sixteen Candles" both had different songs [often similar sounding knock-off tunes] until recent years.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:03am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I thought the glitch was an extended remix.
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:04am Lynn Lockjaw:

Sex in Headphones. All I'm gonna say.

Okay, also *howwwwwl*
Thu. 7/12/12 4:07am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Does that box set have "The Wall" tour rehearsals?
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:07am Julie:

MK you must go see Ray. And HI so good to see you! :)
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:08am Julie:

Hmmm I don't know if it does.. it's got all kinds of stuff
Thu. 7/12/12 4:11am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

There's a moment in the rehearsals where Roger starts yelling at the stage crew for building the wall too quickly and throwing off the timing of the show. There's other "Roger yelling" moments, but that one is my fave.
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:17am Julie:

(dancing)
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:20am Marmalade Kitty:

Yes YOU behind the bike shed...stand still laddie!!!
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:21am Rachael:

Hooray! Thanks for this! What a great theme!
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:21am Julie:

Thanks Rachael!
Thu. 7/12/12 4:22am fred von helsing:

"bike shed" sounds very much like a deviant practice
Thu. 7/12/12 4:23am larry in portland:

so i work at the library and today i had to return the dark side of the moon immersion box set. i left it on the bus. i randomly tune in now and had no idea there was a wall immersion box. this is either am amazing sign from the floyd gods or a hellish portent that i will owe $150 to the place i work at.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:26am fred von helsing:

floyd-o-rama! what's the occasion?
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:28am Julie:

All will be revealed :)
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:29am Orvan Taurus:

Seeing pink heffalumps?
Thu. 7/12/12 4:29am larry in portland:

flashbacks to dark bedroom in 6th grade
Thu. 7/12/12 4:30am fred von helsing:

heh heh this is cool !
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:31am Julie:

yeahhh Larry!
Thu. 7/12/12 4:31am fred von helsing:

@LiP, did you mean flashbacks to... flashbacks
Thu. 7/12/12 4:33am larry in portland:

FVH, sort of as 6th grade is when i immersed but maybe then i was flashing back to kindergarten and my first wall exposure! if that's what you meant. this damn album ruled my life til i found the butthole surfers in '86... big run.
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:35am hamburger:

I didn't know there was a Winnie the Pooh movie in 2011, and wasn't made in 3d! and even the Roger Ebert approved...
Thu. 7/12/12 4:35am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Larry: I've regularly seen the immersion sets available online for 30 to 40 percent below the list price. Do some checking around and you should be able to find them for under $100.
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:37am Julie:

BADGUY WHEREWHEREWHERE
Thu. 7/12/12 4:37am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Julie, I just uploaded photos of the postcard set sold at "The Wall" shows in 1980 into a Facebook album. I posted a link on the DNOTS Facebook page.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:37am larry in portland:

@BGZ unfortunately if no one turns in the library copy i lost they'll charge me what they paid for it... i know i work there! sad story, hoping my returning of lost items karma will pay off.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:41am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Larry: Ten-four. Karma does a great job of making sure people get what they give. I hope it comes through for you. :)
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:42am Julie:

I could probably do a dark side set too with covers...oh a slippery slope
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:43am sweet cheri:

julie--did you happen to see "ted" yet?
Thu. 7/12/12 4:43am larry in portland:

@BGZ thanks.... @Julie... thx... my first listen of the Flaming Lips DSOTM was truly rewarding!!!
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:48am Julie:

I dunno what the Flaming comment was about, but I do plan to play some next set
Thu. 7/12/12 4:50am fred von helsing:

wow this hops
Thu. 7/12/12 4:52am larry in portland:

oh you mentioned dark side covers... the flaming lips cover of the album i thought was amazing... that's what that was suppossed to be about.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:52am fred von helsing:

gotta run a quick errand. pls don't play any peppy goth-pop for a bit! :)
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 4:52am Julie:

ohhhh sorry! I will have to check that out
Thu. 7/12/12 4:54am larry in portland:

seriously? wow they do the whole album, amazing, peaches sings great gig in the sky! and it rocks! and rollins does all he background talking and that even works!!!!
  Thu. 7/12/12 4:55am sweet cheri:

julie i can't wait for what you have in store for me later..
Thu. 7/12/12 4:56am larry in portland:

man this is really a great show... been so long since i popped into wfmu randomly... love it
Thu. 7/12/12 4:58am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Julie: Amazon and WalMart have the lowest prices right now...
Dark Side of the Moon ($129.98 list) - Amazon: $125.85 | WM: $123.88
Wish You Were Here ($179.98) - Amazon: $129.99 | WM: $139.98
The Wall ($199.98 list) - Amazon: $109.95 | WM: $107.88

Yes...I know some of you may have an issue with WalMart. I'm just showing the lowest prices I found.

Right before "The Wall" immersion box came out Amazon had the other two for under $100 each. I thought about picking them up but decided to visit Jersey City and NYC instead. If I see a tremendous deal on any of them I'll post something on the DNOTS Facebook wall.
Thu. 7/12/12 4:59am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Also..."The Wall" has one of my favorite backwards messages on it.
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:00am Orvan Taurus:

Ah, Julie belongs to the NEN Club? (Not Exactly Normal...)
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:02am Lynn Lockjaw:

Heh ... "normal"

Watched a 13 year old boy discover The Wall in my house all over again only 5 years ago :)
Thu. 7/12/12 5:05am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The non-English "Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtracks are good.
Thu. 7/12/12 5:05am larry in portland:

yes, one of my turns was the deepest cut...and when you finally saw the movie it was a big whoa! @lynn that is really cool.
Thu. 7/12/12 5:07am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

No Gilmour. Or Mason or Wright.
Thu. 7/12/12 5:07am larry in portland:

pretty sure gilmour wasn't there... my first show ever was floyd at Madison Square Garden.... but I never went and saw Waters --- i've always had an aversion to dudes who go solo! alright i need to quit posting.
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:12am Lynn Lockjaw:

@Larry He has since moved on to properly obnoxious stuff I'd never listen to, as every generation must for a while ;)
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:13am Dave B:

Greetings! It nice being able to sleep without the AC
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 5:14am Julie:

morning Dave B, you missed the Floydfest
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:16am Dave B:

  Thu. 7/12/12 5:20am sweet cheri:

julie i hate to be a nag,,but what special tune have you got planned for me?
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 5:20am Julie:

No comment from Cheri?
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 5:21am Julie:

THIS IS IT, Cheri, Nancy Sinatra
Thu. 7/12/12 5:21am BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Therese is responsible for my current Lee Hazlewood obsession. I wasn't terribly familiar with his stuff and really dug the stuff of his she played on her show. So I've been picking up his CDs and records when I can find them. Most are out of print (even on CD).
Avatar Thu. 7/12/12 5:23am Julie:

It was his birthday this week, that's why I pulled one out. Usually I prefer Nancy alone.
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:23am sweet cheri:

cool!! julie thank you very much,, i love nancy,, you're the best!!!
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:26am sweet cheri:

  Thu. 7/12/12 5:30am sweet cheri:

  Thu. 7/12/12 5:35am D in Miami:

Good morning, all! Great song. This is a good version. Cindytalk (Gordon Sharp) does a nice a cappella version of this on Wappinschaw.
  Thu. 7/12/12 5:37am Orvan Taurus:

Julie, regarding an early discussion on another venue... I have a question of formatting. hopefully I got the email right. Also: Moo.
