Listener comments!

  Wed. 6/27/12 3:02pm Calendar:

@Show Motto: Or perhaps actually a fortnight ago, on the 13th.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:02pm kat330:

That ladder looks absolutely unnecessary.

Speaking of space people, hello, Irwin! We're both returning from somewhere away.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:03pm Dan B From Upstate:

What will space people look like? I'm sure they'll be the same color as the pinstripes on your suit!
Wed. 6/27/12 3:03pm Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin: It's just a jump to the left...
Wed. 6/27/12 3:04pm Matt from Springfield:

Space people will use their eyebrows to smell.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:04pm Space person:

They look like me, duh.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:05pm Dan B From Upstate:

They're suprisingly compact, despite being "space" people.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:06pm Caryn:

I think the unnecessary ladder is there due to the space health & safety officials.
Avatar Wed. 6/27/12 3:06pm Irwin:

Funny that they use handshakes on distant planets. Or they've studied our protocols.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:06pm Exobiologist:

Space people: The Final Carmine
Wed. 6/27/12 3:07pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Will they enjoy listening to WFMU?
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:08pm Otis:

i think some of wfmu is programmed by Space people./
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:08pm Sunscreen Maker:

Their asses are white as rice. Wait till the dog pulls their trunks down.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:08pm kat330:

Maybe s/he thinks he's handing over something. The one in the hatch appears concerned. Suppose he's the Howie Mandel of outerspace and will insist on hand sanitizer after contact.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:09pm Caryn:

They might not know about handshakes, Irwin. The spaceman would be holding out his other hand then.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:09pm Dan B From Upstate:

Yes, the one getting out is the only one with any modesty. The one waiting to grab the guy's hand is already nearly naked.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:10pm Matt from Springfield:

The human thinks they're about to shake hands; but the spaceman? Who knows what he plans to use the hand for.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:11pm G:

He's got a job buzzer inm his palm
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:11pm G:

joy buzzer. i've been typing too much for work today, waaaaah
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:12pm kat330:

The Earth dude must sing with a Barbershop Quartet.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:12pm Droll:

I remember when I first landed and this scene played out. I was thinking "Awesome! Soylent Green comes in a red flavor, too!" but it turns out it's just food coloring. It's all pink goop before they put it into molds.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:14pm Matt from Springfield:

Wow, this Spanky & Our Gang sounds like a weird "Banana Splits" type theme song.

Or, something TMBG would perform nowadays.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:15pm kat330:

I guess the art department found a sale on pink and black.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:15pm Mark in DC:

Bizarre even for Spanky/Gang.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:15pm kat330:

Very S.O.C. lyrics.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:17pm kat330:

Hey, Matt, made it to the KSC, but didn't calculate half enough time for immersion. Still, it was very cool. Atlantis will be housed there and open to the public a year from now.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:17pm Raffi:

Leopardskin Phone or Banana Phone: Which is Deadlier?
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:18pm Space person:

In space, all you need is a collar, anklets and a utility belt (no pockets, see?)
Wed. 6/27/12 3:20pm Matt from Springfield:

He was a Good Doctor indeed (as was John Sinclair).
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:21pm G:

I thought Ken furnished the meds??
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:21pm kat330:

Got ya beat, Irwin. I haven't been back since 1994.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:22pm Matt from Springfield:

@kat: Awesome! There's always more fun stuff than what you can calculate! :)
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:22pm G:

You weren't already out to lunch? :-)
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:23pm LA County Sheriff's Dept:

Those weren't awards, Mr. Chusid. We were issuing summons to you--you can bet you have warrants out now.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:23pm kat330:

We had no idea, so we missed a ton of stuff. Now I know why they sell a "season pass" for a few dollars more than a single admission: People take 2-3 days to enjoy it.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:24pm Matt from Springfield:

@G: Sometimes Ken doesn't taken enough meds, and remembers to put them away. Normally substances at FMU are whatever Ken left lying around.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:24pm G:

Gotta drive, bbl
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:25pm Caryn:

That is so cool, kat! Hope to get there some day myself. Of course, not been to the States since 1998.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:26pm kat330:

Be safe, G! Drive better than your typing today! :)
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:27pm kat330:

@Caryn: Yeah, seeing the space people theme here works for Cocoa Beach as well as for L.A. :) Kinda funny that Obama followed us down there and then he was on the tarmac at Atlanta when we were waiting for takeoff. If he's in Louisville next...hmmm.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:30pm Caryn:

@kat: the space people picture is clearly a premonition. That's going to be you and PG landing in Louisville, only to be met by Obama. PG is happy to meet a president, but you're hanging back going. "What, him again?"
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:31pm kat330:

And remember, it was in Helsinki's airport we saw the then current Finnish prez! [don't recall her name, but she is Conan O'Brien in drag.]
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:32pm Caryn:

Yeah, I remember! You are clearly presidential stalking fodder. (the name's Tarja Halonen, BTW)
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:33pm kat330:

@Irwin: A nice, earthbound groove you have going on here.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:34pm Caryn:

Suitable track for yarmulke day.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:34pm Matt from Springfield:

Ha ha, "Walking Jewish"!
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:34pm Wild Guess:

Is this an unreleased Beastie Boys tune?
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:37pm Julian:

Wait, didn't I hear this on jm in the am?
Wed. 6/27/12 3:37pm Morty the Agent:

They say any publicity is good publicity, but this? Ehhhh..might want to consider it again...
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:37pm listener David:

Don't think Nachum would play that!
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:38pm kat330:

@Caryn: Ah, thanks. Well, I'm multitasking to the hilt, so I'm more scarce than usual on the keyboards while catching back up with the world.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:38pm Morty the Agent:

Hey, I got several people gigs in Advertising just this month!
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:38pm Wild Guess:

N. has the balls, but not the foreskin...
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:39pm Caryn:

First a Beastie Boys' side project, then last year's Irish Eurovision entry. Oh wait, that was a different song called "Lipstick"...
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:40pm paula pc:

I have not heard this Advertising song in forever...merci...
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:40pm northguineahills:

I would never recognize this as Freddie Mercury
Wed. 6/27/12 3:41pm Matt from Springfield:

I was wondering if this was Freddie when I heard it progress! Awesome! New release, old bootleg?
Avatar Wed. 6/27/12 3:43pm Irwin:

Pre-Queen
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:44pm G:

wiki: "Lover of Life, Singer of Songs (with the subtitle The Very Best of Freddie Mercury Solo) is a compilation album of Freddie Mercury's solo songs. It was released (except in the U.S.) on September 4, 2006, the day before the 60th anniversary of Mercury's birth."
Wed. 6/27/12 3:45pm Matt from Springfield:

Leonard!! Is this the album version?
Wed. 6/27/12 3:47pm Matt from Springfield:

Whole album of Pre-Queen Freddie--I should investigate that.

Yep, this is the album version of "One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong", the one with the distressed, "drunken" ending.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:47pm Carmichael:

Hi there Irwin. Hi there folks.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:48pm rrg:

Me too me too.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:48pm Caryn:

Is it all pre-Queen, though, Matt? I mean, he did solo records while in Queen.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:49pm G:

My classical guitar teacher in high school was big into Cohen in the early 70s. I ended up learning the arrangements from a published books of tabs he got me. How could I ever have performed songs like this in front of parents at a senior-class fundraiser at the American school in Sao Paulo, Brasil???? What do kids know...
Wed. 6/27/12 3:50pm Matt from Springfield:

It's "Leonard Cohen funny"--and that about explains it all.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:51pm G:

You guys need a Jesse Tree at this point
Wed. 6/27/12 3:51pm Matt from Springfield:

Jesse *Krakow* -- the "Minor Music" host.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:51pm kat330:

The Cohen brought me to attention, but G, you brought me to the keyboard again: How late into the '70s were you in an American school in Sao Paulo? Amazingly small world that I have a Swiss friend who taught English/lit at just such a school in S.P.
Avatar Wed. 6/27/12 3:52pm Irwin:

Sorry about the Jesse mixup. DAMN ME!
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:54pm G:

I got moved around a lot. I spent my senior year of h.s. at the Escola Graduada de S.P., 74-75. Some siblings went to Chapel School in S.P. There were other US-curriculum private schools in the area.
Wed. 6/27/12 3:56pm Matt from Springfield:

"Damn you, damn you, they oughta take a rope and"...um...uh, ham you??
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:56pm rrg:

With clues like that a determined stalker could identify you.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:57pm kat330:

Hunh. I think "Herr Professor Deuss" got there in '77 or '78.
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:58pm G:

I actually considered that. One letter and one year of school. If someone is *that* interested, when they find me they should get in touch LOL
  Wed. 6/27/12 3:59pm Carmichael:

This sounds like a found tape of Vietnamese pop I picked up off the street in San Francisco.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:00pm kat330:

Double piano duo.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:00pm G:

I had a German teacher at "Graded" in 75, not Deuss. He was knowledgeable but angry, and it would not surprise me if he moved on soon after 75. :-) A sibling of mine graduated there in 1977, though.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:00pm still b/p:

I want to see Bobby and Cissy dance to this.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:01pm C-Pig:

Ferrante and Teicher. Very nice Irwin. Tasteful.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:01pm kat330:

Non sequitur alert: I love Victor Borge. Guess I'll check the database to see if anyone else has at FMU over the years.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:02pm kat330:

Lovely cover.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:03pm G:

Waterloo Sunset: as good as anything the Beatles ever did, and better than most of their catalogue. Is that snarky, or my stab at a fair evaluation?
Wed. 6/27/12 4:03pm Matt from Springfield:

This one goes out to DJ Julie.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:04pm Muswell:

The aliens will be red, not green as we have anticipated, and they will be greeted by what appears to be a barber.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:05pm Carmichael:

Works for me, G. I've always been a devout Kinks fan, much more so than the Beatles.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:05pm Muswell:

Kinks can't hold the Beatles athletic supporter, or the Zombies or any of the others.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:06pm G:

Stirring the pot can be good :-)
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:07pm kat330:

Especially if you're cooking with beans.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:10pm northguineahills:

I've always dug the Chicago Underground Duo and other Rob Mazurek projects....
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:10pm rrg:

One of many Victor Borge appearances on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj8fEC2m6LQ
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:12pm Scoot:

Rob Mazurek was awsome with the Doors!
Wed. 6/27/12 4:16pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh that's great Irwin!
You can steal Pseu's pop song selections with record speed now!
Wed. 6/27/12 4:16pm Matt from Springfield:

Chicago Underground Duo sounded great. I wish they were less "underground".
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:17pm kat330:

Thanks, rrg! Found him here: Phuj Phactory with Ergo Phizmiz in 2006.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:21pm kat330:

NOW I.'s cooking with gas, and we're lifting off from terra firma.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:21pm Doyle:

I was told you'd play some Foghat.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:22pm Laura L:

This here Brat-Man's a good song, thank you, Irwin.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:22pm kat330:

Can Klaus be far behind?
Avatar Wed. 6/27/12 4:22pm Irwin:

This one's for you too, LL.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:23pm Laura L:

But this one's even better. Poor Robert Alberg.
Wed. 6/27/12 4:23pm Matt from Springfield:

This is considered melodious in the culture of those spacemen, right?
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:24pm common:

brilliant
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:24pm kat330:

What would Amber like to hear? Or maybe she's busy playing Scrabble: http://www.newyorker.com/images/2012/07/02/cartoons/120702_cartoon_068_a16619_p465.gif
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:25pm kat330:

That one note he's playing is true.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:25pm G:

Did he ever dedicate a tune to Uranus. :-) Kinda like Holst, I mean.
Wed. 6/27/12 4:25pm Miami Bob Perry:

Hi Irwin Long time listener. In keeping w this Martian Motif. Got anything by Bob Viddoloff?? Miami Bob
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:29pm Doyle:

Mars Cowling ... bassist for Pat Travers.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:32pm H-Bomb:

Here's a forgotten Brownsville Station novelty - The Martian Boogie.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZShVsRM_-c
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:32pm Brownsville Station:

Can we get a little Martian Boogie here?
Wed. 6/27/12 4:32pm Matt from Springfield:

ALbatross! ALbatross!
Wed. 6/27/12 4:33pm Matt from Springfield:

Love the dBs, however.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:34pm H-Bomb:

Speaking of Brownsville Station, Stephen King was a big Cub Coda (RIP) fan. And Iron City Houserockers.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:34pm rrg:

The Martian Hop. That's what we want to hear.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:35pm rrg:

We have just discovered an important note from space. The Martians want to throw a dance for all the human race.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:36pm rrg:

Baby Mick.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:37pm kat330:

Awwwright! From my first Stones purchase.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:38pm Today's Birthdays:

Khloe Kardashian - 28
Bob Keeshan - RIP
Tobey Macguire - 37
Helen Keller - RIP
Ross Perot - 82
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:40pm Howard Cosell:

Robert Alberg is my bastard son.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:41pm Greta:

Jandek should have remained hidden and protected that wonderful mystique.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:42pm rrg:

The Good Doctor doesn't keep a playlist either.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:42pm kat330:

So did local FMU listeners get any bees in their bonnets? Strange NYC story to hear about on vacation.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:42pm fred:

@TB: who cares? Can you list Irwin and the Old Codger's birthdays and settle who's the oldest?
Wed. 6/27/12 4:43pm Matt from Springfield:

"Not the way I program my show". Phooey!
Nonexistent Theme Park with Irwin
Wed. 6/27/12 4:43pm Matt from Springfield:

Genre Surf Park with Irwin. Bring your own tokens.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:44pm kat330:

@fred: Glad you said what I was thinking. Maybe it was in hopes of establishing the first entrant's paternity?
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:47pm fred:

@kat: I'd think any claimant to that paternity suit would have died of old age by now, they should be safe.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:49pm kat330:

Um, the name at the top of T.B.'s list is what I was referring to.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:50pm rrg:

I can't even spell Kardashian.

No, wait, maybe I can.
Wed. 6/27/12 4:52pm Matt from Springfield:

Play It Again, Marco B!
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:52pm cglenn:

enjoying the show thoroughly as usual Irwin..
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:52pm kat330:

Obviously it was a day for the K.'s
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:55pm Bedspinna:

This is flat out queasy. I may hurl.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:55pm kat330:

Mmm, this is very interesting.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:57pm fred:

@kat: that totally changes the meaning of "first entrant". Not sure either Irwin nor the Old Codger have a shot in court there. So they should be safe. Which doesn't settle who's the oldest, mind you
Wed. 6/27/12 4:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Raymond Scott on acid!
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:58pm Faktoidz:

The Old Codger is a Sagittarius who was born Feb. 29th, 1942 in Blair, Nebraska (Weighing a whopping 11 lbs. 8 ozs.). The son of a drawbridge oiler, his mother is said to be the inventor of Squirt.

Irwin was born April 20th. 1964 in Paducah, KY. Son of a decorated badminton instructor, he was forced to bleach birdies early on in life, accounting for his ultra-white hands. Irwin spent countless years as Trini Lopez guitar tech before assuming his position at WFMU. Weight 144 Height 6-2 Sign - Virgo
Wed. 6/27/12 4:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Which in some ways is, admittedly, regular Raymond Scott.
  Wed. 6/27/12 4:59pm Faktoidz:

Correction. Codger is a Pisces.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:01pm kat330:

@Faktoidz: Bet you have a bridge over the East River to sell, too.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:02pm Matt from Springfield:

Until the volunteers are finished sending out swag. Then, they're ordered to break kneecaps of 7SD non-compliants. But, owing to Andy's influence more than Ken's, the volunteer muscle merely shows up at your door, chewing gum. They look at you a moment and walk away, saying "it doesn't matter..."
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:03pm fred:

@Faktoidz: that's laughable. The old codger being born in 1942, I might believe. Irwin in 1964, no way!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:05pm kat330:

I am about 3 weeks older than Irwin [take that and run with it, potential stalkers per rrg's concerns] I'll accept '64. ;)
Wed. 6/27/12 5:06pm Matt from Springfield:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Parker

The original "salesman" of public landmarks to gullible tourists.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:07pm Quentin:

I love reading about the Cardiff Giant.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:10pm Droll:

If Irwin was born in 1964, that means his show on FMU started before he hit puberty. The archives don't go back that far, but YouTube has some airchecks from that era of his voice breaking up and playing jacks on the air for 20 minutes. Great shows.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:10pm Quentin:

I also loved Calder's colorful Branniff jets.

Here's a factoid. If you click on the "All Artists played by Irwin" link on this page, you get a list with 7,124 lines in it. Perhaps more by the time you read this, people of the future.

Now there might be a few variations and alternate spellings in there, so the actual list might be a little smaller. But knowing Irwin, not much smaller.

AMEX Orchestra.

And that's just from the shows for which there are online playlists. Which isn't even all the shows for which there are archives. And doesn't include the 25 years preceding the year 2000.

AMEO made a Cameo in a Raydio video.

Real age on wiki. No secret.

When you're doing a "tape edit", I don't believe you're supposed to hear the stopping and starting of the source tape..
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:20pm Kud:

Rice Krispie bars!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:21pm fred:

@Irwin: we know that, the OC is the secretive one... Afraid of suits?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:21pm Kud:

@Matt - It's a window into the 'process.' Actually quite bold.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:22pm Matt from Springfield:

And yes, Irwin's wiki page has a birthdate consistent with all other reliable sources I've seen. Can't tell you if it's *THE TRUTH!!!*, but, reliable sources are in agreement.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:24pm kat330:

Year of the Rabbit/Cat. 'Course, so is '63, which I'll accept as well.
Avatar Wed. 6/27/12 5:25pm Irwin:

I changed my BD on FB two years running bec I didn't want endless HBs from strangers. This year I received a warning that FB only allows users to change their BD a limited number of times. So I'm stuck with April 22.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:26pm fred:

@Matt: was that birth certificate issued in an original state when it was an original state?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:26pm kat330:

Oh, well then, never mind.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:28pm FB:

Those aren't strangers, Irwin, they're friends!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:28pm rrg:

I must complain (again) about people saying "Wiki" when they mean "Wikipedia", which is only one of many Wikis (though certainly it's the most famous one).
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:28pm Truther:

Irwin's Kenyan!
Wed. 6/27/12 5:28pm Matt from Springfield:

Re: Old Codger, Social Security began sending benefits in 1938, and so the Codger would have to be at least 65 then (born 1873 or before), as "The reason there's a Social Security crisis is because the Codger started collecting 66 years ago [in 2004] and he's STILL ALIVE!"
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:28pm fred:

@Irwin: thanks for giving me another reason not to join FB.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:29pm Matt from Springfield:

"Spring and Things That Rhyme With Spring" -- GREAT concept album!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:30pm kat330:

All those good wishes must be very tiring and taxing. As are all the emails requested. :)
Wed. 6/27/12 5:30pm Matt from Springfield:

"So old, his social security number's only three digits". And of course, his phone number is only one digit.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:30pm Lizardner Dave:

If Irwin is Kenyan how come I've never seen him win a marathon, huh? HUH??????
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:32pm Mobster:

@fred: Yeah, FB is a bitch. Hard to slip away when it's so easy for people to keep up with you, who you'd, uh, rather not...
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:32pm Like Me:

Facebook, Twitter ... ugh. Being a participant in social media is almost manditory these days. Somehow Orwellian.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:32pm fred:

@Matt from Springfield: Thanks for showing me the so called SS crisis is a good thing!
Wed. 6/27/12 5:32pm Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin: HUZZAH for the "Burmese Land" bed music!!!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:33pm Bill:

Readin Irwin's wikipedia entry...would I be correct in concluding that Irwin was an influence on Stereolab?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:33pm AnAnonymousParty:

Is that "Song of the Burmese Land" in the background on the piano?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:34pm Denny Lyman:

Irwin's probably been to the Kaiser Aluminum-Domeā„¢
Wed. 6/27/12 5:35pm Denise in DC:

Damn. It is indeed. **aches with longing for The Incorrect Music Show**
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:36pm Carmichael:

Could the "Burmese Land" be Burma?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:36pm fred:

@Bill: you're on your own as to what you conclude from wikipedia.
@Mobster: We know each other, and I think you actually owe me a Guinness, and I mean a pint, of course.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:38pm bloopy:

who is rod davies? he sounds like that dude from fountatins of wayne
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:40pm Droll:

It's odd people use aliases here on FMU where we say pretty pedestrian things, but use their real names on FB where everyone's watching to see if you say something embarrassing. I'm way more concerned about being stalked on FB than FMU.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:40pm Bill:

Well, let's see if I can get ans answer from the man himself. Irwin: Could you please, within the confines of this message board, sumarize any pre-1993 encounters you may have had with any members, producers or associates of the band Stereolab?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:41pm Isao:

FMU should go Quad.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:43pm Matt from Springfield:

@Droll: Which could be why I'm not intimately involved with FB, yet say pretty crazy things on the FMU comment boards! Always express yourself under a moniker, just to be safe! :)
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:44pm PiLA:

What a great show, can't wait till Friday. Should I bring donuts?
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:44pm kat330:

@Droll: I think there's zero concern about being stalked from commenting at FMU. I've never really and will never (period) have a FB account.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:44pm Matt from Springfield:

@Carm: "Burmese Land" is within Burma, but only to spiteful overseas expats who consider it "like Monkey Land". Comes from a "legendary" song-poem Irwin's played a lot.
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:45pm kat330:

See some of ya's on the other side. Fine show, I.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:45pm Today In History!:

1864 - General Sherman is repulsed by Confederates at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.

People, just go see Joe McPhee while he's alive and totally kicking ass. There will be time to discuss his worth later, but he's touring right now and an amazing musician.

The *soaring* voice of Robert Alberg...
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:51pm Droll:

I've been wearing these FMU shirts around Seattle for over a decade waiting for the day another FMU listener comes up to me to say "Hi". I don't think FB users have the same hopes for meeting strangers.

. o O (Listening to this Pistols tune only underscores how non-threatening Lydon sounds on the new PiL record.)
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:51pm Laura L:

Deft fuckin' use of the censor button on our forbidding planet, Irwin!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:52pm Spock:

Robert Alberg off the port bow, sir.

Wow, this Sugar Ray demo sounds way different than the finished record.

@L.Dave: Yeah, Sugar Ray used A LOT of technology in post-production to sound half decent!
  Wed. 6/27/12 5:58pm G:

Tolja I was driving. But the FM radio works. Primitive but serviceable.
Wed. 6/27/12 5:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Nice show today. Let's see if 7SD kicks it up a notch.
