All pants are hot pants, at the moment.
  12:10pm
Jeremy Shatan:

I work in a refrigerated environment - been wearing a sweater for the last hour. On days like this I feel better about that!
  12:10pm
Mike East:

  12:11pm

  12:17pm
robyn:

  12:17pm
still b/p:

I was in Texas a while, in a mostly dry heat region, but when you burn your fingers on the car ignition metal, that don't much-a matter. Hot be hot.
  12:18pm
chris:

NJ: Its not the heat, its the humidity.

TX: Happy birthday, Robyn!
  12:19pm
Mike East:

  12:20pm

  12:21pm
electronik^aki:

  12:21pm
robyn:

  12:21pm
Caryn:

And happy birthday, Robyn!
  12:22pm
Mike East:

ain't turned on...no studios booked=no clients=boss is trying to save $$
  12:22pm
Jeremy Shatan:

This is rocking. Is it from around the same time that Little Richard did Freedom Blues? Kinda of a 50's renaissance going on in 70, 71, 72...
  12:23pm
Mike East:

where'd you go, Caryn?
  12:24pm
Caryn:

@Mike East: Iceland for 9 days
  12:24pm

  12:27pm
Mike East:

that sounds great, Caryn.
  12:31pm
Cheri Pi:

Welcome back Caryn!
  12:34pm
Caryn:

Thanks, Cheri! It was lovely. Great nature, plenty of street art, artist communes and small shops, good food and cheap prices. Highly recommended!
  12:37pm
robyn:

  12:43pm

  12:43pm
Eli:

  12:44pm
miss cheri:

  12:45pm
Caryn:

@Robyn: yep, everything from bubbling mud springs to steaming hot springs to big geysirs. Including the original Geysir, after which all the others are named.
  12:45pm
Duane:

Here's the link to Will C's excellent Remix album. It's free! http://monkeyboxing.com/content/will-c-adieu-or-die-2012-%E2%80%93-free-download-lp-video/
  12:45pm
Jeremy Shatan:

James Asher - very cool.
  12:49pm
miss cheri:

hey duane how was your fathers day this past weekend?
  12:49pm
C. Pigeon:

Chess getting into a little MOR at that time. Nice Dells cut. Listening in the Catskills Duane. Your show is always great. Keep on!
  12:51pm
Duane:

My Father's Day was great cheri. Thanx for asking. My Dad couldn't come out to NYC this time, but we watched the Paquiao fight together the week before. How was yours?
  12:52pm
Duane:

Thanx C. Pigeon. Catskills sounds amazing right now
  12:53pm
Mike Love Not War:

Brother, the Beach Boys subsidiary? Was Blondie Chapman or Ricky Fataar involved?
  12:54pm
miss cheri:

my dad had a terrific day duane!
  12:55pm
Will C.:

Mike Love Not War: That last record "Get Your Mind Made Up" is from The Flame's self titled album. Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar were both members and it came out on Brother Records around the time Sunflower came out. Their self titled album is the only album on Brother Records that was not by the Beach Boys
  12:57pm
Duane:

miss cheri: Great to hear :)
  12:58pm
Mike Love Not War:

Bobby Goldsboro had a great seasonal song ... Summer (The First Time).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYHEBa6Xx48

Will C - I recently found a 45 on Brother called Gettin' Hungry by Brian and Mike Love - had never seen it before.
  1:01pm
Will C:

MLNW: That's A Great One
  1:03pm
Mike Love Not War:

For me, fave Beach Boys is a toss-up between Surf's Up and 'Til I Die. Wild Card: Girl Don't Tell Me. OK. My Beach Boys flxation is sated for now. Great Set!
  1:06pm
robyn:

nice set will c!
  1:07pm
Murray:

I'm a genius too.
  1:07pm
fxo:

Will C.: great mixing!
  1:09pm
Will C:

Murray Wilson!! You Ruined my Life!!
thank you fxo
  1:10pm
Will C:

thank you too Robyn
  1:10pm
Jeremy Shatan:

This is confusing me. It sounds so much like real music while most Beach Boys does not to me.
  1:11pm
fxo:

that would be Murry, who ruined Brian's life.
  1:11pm
Caryn:

"Surf's Up" is definitely my fave Beach Boys album. And it's great to hear the lesser-known bits of the BB catalogue get some love.
  1:13pm
Pacific Ocean Blue:

Did Dennis ever finish Bamboo?
  1:14pm
Fourth Lad:

Spring ... wasn't Marilyn in this band. I know she was in The Honeys.
  1:14pm
Jeremy Shatan:

No - it was a work in progress and released as a bonus disc with the incredible Pacific Ocean Blue reissue.
  1:14pm
still b/p:

The Boys didn't ruin my life , but let me down a little -- not their fault: Never paid attention to Don't Worry Baby lyrics until it was running through my head a lot a year or two ago and I looked 'em up. Disappointed and amused to find not a straight love song, but references to car bragging and race safety. Not untypical, just unexpected there.
  1:16pm
Mu:

Merrill Fankhausen has to be nearby!
  1:19pm
Duane:

FourthLad: Yeah Marilyn and Diane, marilyn's sister both
  1:19pm
Tomorrow Never Came:

Boz ... Down Two Then Left - Forgotten Treasure
  1:24pm
Sudden Jolt of Interest:

Miss you darlin' - miss you so hard. Wasn't that on a Brian solo release?
  1:26pm
Dr. Landy:

I wrote many of these compositions.
  1:26pm
Will C:

Absolutely, he later revisited "Can't Wait Too Long" on his solo album from last decade, "That Lucky Old Sun."
  1:28pm
Duane:

Dr. Landy: You is a funny man!
  1:29pm
Dr. Towel:

I wrote about a third of the St. Anger LP.
  1:30pm
Duane:

Dr. Towel: That album sucked!!!
  1:32pm
Eli:

Really great set.
  1:52pm
Jeremy Shatan:

Whoa - Lena letting her hair down!
  2:00pm
Dr. Towel:

I am just now, after 28-minutes, able to respond to your absurd assertion that St. Anger sucked. Time will reveal the genius of the record, and my obviously helpful and influential presence at its making. Not to mention my hard lobbying to bring the crab-core bassist onboard, though his name presently eludes me.
  2:08pm
paula pc:

this mix is so excellent...
  2:12pm
Duane:

Dr Towel: You Made Dave Mustaine Cry..
  2:14pm
steve:

Dr Towel, you need to write a memoir. I'd buy it.
  2:16pm
vanya temporarily in iowa:

i would subscribe to episodes of it on wfmu chatboard
  2:19pm
Dr. Towel:

Duane. True. David did weep, but in doing so, he opened channels to an important wellspring of internal pain. Now he is free to interact with his former bandmates, whether to love them or berate them, these emotions are now coming from a place that is no longer constipated with psychic blockage. Perhaps I could set up an appointment with you, to help you realize your full disc jockeying potential. Several convenient scheduling options and paymnent methods are available.
  2:20pm
God:

Boy that was some hippie nonsense!
  2:26pm
Dr. Phil:

I would have put the focus solely on Lars. As goes Lars, so goes Metallica.
  2:29pm
Jeremy Shatan:

Dr. Towel - when did you change your name from Dr. Sweater?
  2:30pm
Dr. Pepper:

I am tremendously gassy. I am in a 16-oz. plastic bottle in the trunk of an abandoned Ford Maverick Grabber. I'm about to blow my cap. Imagine the flies that may result. They'll get in through a tiny hole which was originally drilled for the installation of a Midland Citizen's Band radio.
  2:36pm
Jeremy Shatan:

Dennis had more soul that all the other Boys put together.
  2:38pm
Dr. Towel:

Funny you should mention that, Jeremy. Although I have never referred to myself as Dr. Sweater, I do, indeed, perspire profusely when challenged or when exerting myself in any way. The slightest motion of either arm sends torrents - cascades, really, of man-sweat literally shooting from all of my important glands. Luckily, I am scentless. Though I have tried all the obvious methods of treatment. Ban Roll-On, Mum, Speed Stick, etc. - completely duct-taping my underarms - sealing them - seems to work best, though some area-specific back swelling often occurs. Hope this helps. Now let's pay attention to Duane and his great program.
  2:41pm
Jeremy Shatan:

Actually, I was referring to the colorful sweaters that are your trademark. But now I know why you're Dr. Towel.
  2:49pm
steve:

yes! please do a walter gibbons show!
  2:50pm
Faye:

My vote for a Walter Gibbons show!
  2:51pm
Duane:

Ok. Done! Walter Gibbons Show Coming in July!!
  2:53pm
robyn:

walter gibbons!!! yessss
  2:54pm
Caryn:

Great show as usual, Duane! Getting everyone over the hump of hump day. And Will C: I salute you!
  2:56pm
Will C:

Hey I really want to thank you all very very very very VERY much for tuning in and digging some of the stuff I played today! That goes to everybody out there. Thank you and I hope you enjoy "Adieu Or Die" at willcmusic.com
  3:00pm
Jeremy Shatan:

Cheers all! Thanks for making my Wednesday bright, as usual.
