Live Performance & chat with Dave Foster and Mark Humble
As a founding member of the pop purveyors Bubble, Dave Foster moved on to making music with the Losers Lounge. Dave then started hosting "Bubble Do the Beatles" for adults and their children. He's also released a couple of solo albums of power-pop wonderfulness. Mark Humble is a longtime friend and fellow musician, first heard on WFMU's airwaves at the Simon & Garfunkel-inspired duo "Perry Humble." Mark Humble just released CD, One Centre Street, featuring many melodic, moody and often quite funny tunes. Humble has also contributed songs and soundtracks to Scrubs, A&E’s Biography and The Smithsonian Institute. They both dropped by to play a few tunes in WFMU's Love Room.

Listener comments!

Mon. 5/21/12 12:01pm Van in DC:

Tribute to another fallen legend right off the bat. Well done. Hello Irene!
Mon. 5/21/12 12:03pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I may have missed other Gibb tributes. Glad I'm able to catch this one. They certainly changed their style as time went on, didn't they?
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:05pm Parq:

Nice to hear some older BeeGees. Reading some of the newspaper coverage yesterday, you would have thought they came out of nowhere to do SNF.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:07pm Bill:

Heard this late one night on WOMR 92.1fm (community station) driving out of Provincetown, along the Cape.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:07pm pierre:

Bonjour Irene !
Mon. 5/21/12 12:12pm yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

Hi Irene;)
Do you Robin's 1970 solo album?
Mon. 5/21/12 12:12pm Van in DC:

  Mon. 5/21/12 12:14pm Bill:

And of course Provincetown and the Cape are in ... Massachusetts.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:14pm v k:

these tribute sets are also great for those that were under-exposed to important musical acts
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:15pm zoot:

Always enjoyed the B side of NY Mining Disaster: I Can't See Nobody.
Mon. 5/21/12 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Now I see that the drummer for Crowded House, Peter Jones, has died of brain cancer at age 45.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:17pm Parq:

Wikipedia: When the Bee Gees wrote the song, they had never been to Massachusetts. The group simply loved the word. The song was written on a boat near the Statue of Liberty.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:18pm miss v:

Thank you for this, Irene! I am both happy and maudlin.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:19pm AGB:

Gotta Get a Message to you - one of my favorite tunes in Junior High in 1968- Damn, time flies
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:20pm Bill:

His "Mother of Love" in 2006 is beautiful. It was his tribute to Maurice and kind of obscure.
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:20pm zoot:

Don't know if it is possible to pull off a seque into some tunes from Chuck Brown, Godfather of Go-Go and much missed by those of us in DC
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:27pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Great tribute Irene. Reminds me of wearing out the vinyl of "The Best of the BeeGees in 69 or 70. Pity 90% of folks no nothing of their non-disco days!
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:30pm KevinfromBayRidge:

oops! NOT no nothing, meant" know nothing"
  Mon. 5/21/12 12:34pm Mike East:

That's funny, Kevin...my boss mistypes know for no in emails all the time..."we have know studios booked for Memorial Day."
Mon. 5/21/12 1:01pm Van in DC:

Wonderful set!
Mon. 5/21/12 1:11pm Ppy in Bay Ridge:

  Mon. 5/21/12 1:19pm Dave:

These guys have totally rescued a lunch that started really badly with a Veggie Delite from Subway.
Mon. 5/21/12 1:57pm Van in DC:

So Irene, you engineered One Centre Street? It's amazing that Mark had it shelved for a decade. I see the connection there to another of your recent guests, The Left Banke....
  Mon. 5/21/12 1:58pm Marmalade Kitty:

great shw Irene! cosy nap music is the best!
  Mon. 5/21/12 1:59pm paco LaMay:

All I have to say about what I catched from the show today is: :)
Mon. 5/21/12 2:54pm Van in DC:

Ah yes, the Kate covers :)
  Mon. 5/21/12 2:55pm northguineahills:

I enjoyed that Lee Feldman track.

@Marmalade Kitty: Yeah, it would make good nap dream soundtrack music. Might try that some time.
