Bartók kicks ass as 20C composers go. He actually died here in NYC in 1945 as a war refugee, and later when Hungary got free of Russia in 1989, his family there and the Hungarian govt. asked for his body back and did a belated state funeral for him.... He and Liszt, the two Hugarian greats in classical music... | |
