This is as good a place to ask as any: Anybody know anything about Georgian (the country) polyphonic folk/traditional songs? I was visiting there & heard some 20-somethings around a dinner table at a restaurant with a guitar, singing hauntingly beautiful melodies with barbershop-tight harmonies. What I'm finding on Youtube seems close but not quite right.

@Knile: I don't know anything about it, but I got an email last week saying this group http://www.mzeshina.fr/ just release a record on Buda (the label of the Ethiopiques series). Seems like there are a couple tracks on their site (which is in French)

I am in awe of your consistently excellent Dead programming. The tracks you pick highlight the darkest, and in my opinion, best elements of the band. Your show is a dear new favorite part of my life. keep it up brotha. cheers
