Malo's 1972 Top 20 hit single, "Suavecito," was written by timbale player Richard Bean, who initially wrote it as a poem for a girl in his high school algebra class. The song has been called "The Chicano National Anthem."

So, '71-73, Kenny Rogers & The First Edition had a TV show with music acts, called Rollin' on the River, and later just Rollin', and that's where the Malo clip apparently is from. Rollin' name is supered at end of clip. I think that's Mary Arnold of the First Edition doing the intro.

There are plenty of Indian restaurants around here, but only 2 worth even thinking about. The one I went to today is actually Nepalese, although I can't figure out what makes it different than Indian.
