thinking about the Jim Prince Show that would be an interesting idea; have DJs play music for a few minutes but have a whole bunch of them, like 480 (1440min per day/3min = 480)
  Mon. 4/23/12 3:17pm Looms:

Heya Scott!
Very funny Pierre Vassiliu cover

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:22pm Looms:

Partido Alto is a cover of Pierre Vassiliu's "Qui c'est, celui-là ?"
  Mon. 4/23/12 3:23pm fred:

@Looms: more likely the other way other, Vassiliu covering Chico Buarque
  Mon. 4/23/12 3:23pm Looms:

@fred: really ?
  Mon. 4/23/12 3:24pm Looms:

Don't know much about Chico Buarque actually...
Avatar    Mon. 4/23/12 3:24pm Scott:

yeah, I think Fred's right here Looms - tho I'd love to hear Vassiliu's version! Is it on that CD we gots here in the library?
  Mon. 4/23/12 3:26pm Looms:

Fred is absolutely right indeed!
Avatar    Mon. 4/23/12 3:27pm Scott:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:27pm BSI:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:28pm fred:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:37pm Carmichael:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:45pm Waqas:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:47pm glenntern:

  Mon. 4/23/12 3:58pm 100% pure dc pat:

yeah, I guess that's how we all feel about bryce. Felt like I had to mention it though..
Speaking of "fuck." I was taking my son to his birthday dinner (he's 6) yesterday and saw a woman with a Bruins shirt on. I did a friendly "boo" and thumbs down as they were playing against the Caps that very moment. She looks at me and screams "FUCK YOU!!!!" Craziest overreaction I've experienced in a long time.
Mon. 4/23/12 4:00pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

never underestimate the insanity of sports fans
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:01pm BSI:

Jeezus, DCPat... I've gone down the pub to watch Arsenal matches & surrounded by enemy forces (Chelsea fans), there's always good-natured jeering but never that level of animal nonsense.
Avatar    Mon. 4/23/12 4:02pm Scott:

that reminds me of the best reason to see Cabin in the Woods (and there are lotsa good reasons): Richard Jenkins repeatedly screaming "FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!!!!!" at a classroom full of 9-yr old Japanese schoolgirls
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:04pm Waqas:

screaming at a classroom of 9-year old Japanese girls??? that's mean :X

yeah me too
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:11pm Carmichael:

I was in LA a week or two ago, and found a brewery next to my hotel. Thought it was great, until I discovered it was the Dodgers home opener. The game was over, and the joint was mobbed with blue-shirted assholes of both genders, the perfect storm of fat, loud and hammered. I was shocked at the level of bestiality in the place, though the bartenders just shrugged it off as another day.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:12pm 100% pure dc pat:

BSI: never had any trouble with soccer fans either although it's a different story in England from what I hear.
Mon. 4/23/12 4:13pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

presumably that's why I rarely venture out of punk dives, weirdo coffee houses, and art galleries.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:15pm Waqas:

@Dead Corporate Eyes that's what makes it fun! the weirder the better! weird/strange = originality
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:18pm Cecile:

I like traffic lights
I like traffic lights
I like traffic lights
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:19pm BSI:

oh hell, Cecile. That's evil.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:19pm BSI:

someone needs to do a gabber-style cover of that one.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:23pm Waqas:

"coke weed" ouch that must be one hell of a drug.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:23pm Carmichael:

For the briefest of moments, I read Bless Them That Curse You as being by Loggins & Messina, and panicked. All is well now though, at least comparatively.
  Mon. 4/23/12 4:28pm Ian:

Scott: many thanks for playing the Dancing Mice track. I see the album is getting a few plays in different shows on WFMU.

Aww, Das Ding sounds like an 80s computer tracker song, a mod or sid file.
Mon. 4/23/12 5:25pm Chris from DC:

Drat, missed Tronics. Saw Freakapuss last night, absolutely great
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:27pm Caryn:

They Saved Hutler's Brain is a GREAT cheesy movie. I saw Logan's Run on Saturday, reminded me what a wuss-face Michael York is.
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:47pm emmagineering:

is that fursaxa in this harleman's song???
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:48pm Carmichael:

"Hutler" ... he he ....
Avatar    Mon. 4/23/12 5:49pm Scott:

good call emmagineering! I'm also hearing Prince Rama & several others here, but this thing's from '75
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:49pm paula pc:

@ emmagineering -- harlemans are from the 70s! and amazing!!
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:51pm emmagineering:

Oh wow, so those effects are tape based! Crazy, I'll have to research them... Thanks!
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:55pm Caryn:

@Carm: yeah, but the Sandman uniforms are very snazzy. I actually translated the "Logan's Run" book into Finnish as part of my thesis, so I know way too much about that universe.
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:56pm Philo Gristle:

I'll second CHUD and Q: The Winged Serpent. Any Larry Cohen films, in fact, are worth watching. The ones he directed at least. Even A Return to Salem's Lot with Sam Fuller as a vampire hunter.
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:57pm Caryn:

Over here, it's already April 24: the birthday of the guy who invented the zipper.
  Mon. 4/23/12 5:58pm Dr. Leary:

You want the key?
  Mon. 4/23/12 6:00pm Cheech:
