Didn't know dyngus or details -- "It was custom to throw water and hit the girls on their legs with twigs or pussy willows. Cologne was used instead of water by the more gallant lads. The ladies would reciprocate by throwing dishes & crockery and Tuesday was their day of revenge, imitating the same tactics."
|
Mon. 4/9/12 9:15am
Dead Corporate Eyes:
crazy...Cheri that's NOT a healthy breakfast!

I admit I have a problem controlling myself when it comes to reese's peanut butter eggs. I could eat 'em for breakfast, lunch, and dinner day in and day out. |

Steaknet:
Hi Liz! what's up? Did you get rid of your stalker fan?
|
|
♥
Mon. 4/9/12 9:34am
Liz B.:
Hi Steaknet! I found out that with these fancy new phones, the phone company can't block numbers, so I just assigned a silent ringtone to my phone stalker so now he won't wake me up. He has only called/texted 2 or 3 times since last week, so perhaps he's given up. |
|
Mon. 4/9/12 9:34am
Lucas:
@Liz: i have no tried that one yet

Mon. 4/9/12 9:37am
Skirkie:
I love that Resse's changed the shape of the egg to a tree or pumpkin depending on the holiday and then finally went, "You know what? Here's a giant peanut butter cup. Same thing."

Splendid music this AM, Miz Liz. Can't think of anything that would more make Monday bearable.

Isn't Tleilaxu from Philly? I think I remember him being part of that old Flowchart axis.

According to the FMA, Tleilaxu is in L.A., but perhaps he recently relocated: freemusicarchive.org... |

Good morning, any Easter candy hang-overs?
|
Mon. 4/9/12 9:55am
northguineahills:
ahhh, would make sense, as Sean O'Neal (Flowchart) relocated to Berlin after he started producing techno. It's been about 10 years since I've seen Tleixaxu.

Mike East:
Serious overstock of hard boiled eggs at my house. Methinks some egg salad is necessary to go through them all.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:11am
Cecile:
They revamped Cadbury eggs. Instead of mimicking raw eggs with their fondant, now they mimick soft-boiled eggs. Still tasty, maybe tastier, but I miss the ooze.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:11am
Cecile:
Ooh, I made macaroni salad with shrimp, lemon, peas and rosemary yesterday. Twas yummy.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:12am
tim from champaign:
I went to see The Hunger Games this weekend. It was a really confusing plot because there weren't any teen vampires in love in it.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:13am
Mike East:
that sounds awesome Cecile. I've got a ton of rosemary left from what I didn't use for the ham. I'll probably use it for whatever soup I make from the ham bone. Dill usually goes into my egg salad.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:15am

hah, tim. Lenny Kravitz looked good in it. Maybe if he becomes a famous actor he will stop making music.

I've been so blissfully ignorant of everything... Folks mentioning something called "Hunger Games," didn't know if it was a film, TV show, video game, or some wacky iphone app.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:18am
tim from champaign:
One can only hope, Cecile. What's your take on the Johnny Depp "dracula goes to the 70s" or "Abe Lincoln - Vampire Slayer" movies? I saw previews for them at the Hunger Games.

Liz B.:
Whoa, thanks for the report on the "new" cadbury egg, Cecile... never thought they would change the recipe. It is kind of a gross concept, eating a raw egg that is made out of syrupy sugary goo... |
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:22am
glenn:
mmmmmmm, goo. | |

Is it me, or does the Hunger Games look like it borrowed heavily from Battle Royale?
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:22am
Cecile:
I don't know, tim. It looks kind of hilarious. But then again in terms of revisionist Lincolns, it's going to be hard to top the Electric Six's Gay Bar video.
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:23am
Cecile:
yes, Battle Royale, Rollerball, Most Dangerous Game, Running Man....

Dead People = great name; Feel the Light = great tune.

It was a totally messed up way to obtain the tickets. But I guess since they are playing at such a small venue (which, for a group as popular as Kraftwerk, is also pretty messed up) it was better than sleeping on the sidewalk overnight. Or maybe not. My bet is they'll return to the US before long to play a proper tour at a proper venue. I sound so optimistic, don't I?? ;)
