Were those goats on the restaurant roof animal crackers or real animals? Also, for years, I thought "Footloose" had like 2 big songs on it (since I'd seen the film once as a little kid and remembered barely nothing about it). But a couple of weeks back I checked out the track listings for "Footloose" and there's a huge amount of big hits in that movie...

Flora, fauna and micro-organisms all together form biota. Microorganisms are lifeforms. In the case of bacteria, fungi, archaea, and protists, they are non-flora/fauna, but there are also microscopic plants (e.g. green algae) and animals (e.g. plankton and the planarian).

Dan B From Upstate:
It doesn't help that we eat "beef" or "steak," not cow. We eat "pork" or "bacon," but not pig. We eat chicken, not.... well... there's no helping that one. Anyway, it makes it harder to put a face with the name.

Caryn:
A number of animal rights organisations have stated that if the world goes vegetarian, millions of food animals will have to be exterminated, because they've been bred to have multiple babies and multiply exponentially, and keeping them all alive without eating them would create a huge increase on the need for food in the form of flora. In the end, I think a balanced diet with a bit of meat is a more animal-friendly alternative than just killing them all without utilising the meat, offal, skin etc.
