Live performance and chat with Adam Cohen
The family resemblance is strong in Adam Cohen, evident from the first notes he sings on his new album, "Like a Man." His dad Leonard returned to performing a few years ago, spurring Adam to do likewise after a very long break. Disillusioned after three major label albums with a lukewarm reception, the younger Cohen took a five-year break to return with a new album reminiscent of is father's early, spare sound. Adam Cohen visited WFMU to play live and chat.

  Mon. 4/2/12 12:15pm Torbjørn:

This is the son of Leonard Cohen ?
This guy sounds nice, but voice needs more doom, gloom, whiskey and sigarettes ..
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:16pm joerg:

  Mon. 4/2/12 12:16pm Kelvin:

Yeah, he is a chip off the Cohen block all right. Irene+Cohen = low-stress start of the week.

The anti-Rush...
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:18pm Geddy:

Limelight!
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:23pm kat330:

@Torbjørn: Likely that would achieve dad's deeper register, but it's just fine and clean where it is.
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:27pm kat330:

Heh! :>
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:33pm kat330:

The way he hits, kinda punches the note at the beginning of a word is so much his father....eerie... This is so lovely. Thanks Irene and thanks especially to Adam.
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:35pm Chris:

OMG! Not only his fathers genes but his soul and poetic sensibility as well. You have a new admirer.

Thanks Irene.
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:39pm joe:

Adam I did not know who you were when starting to listen to this. I enjoyed what I heard before I was even aware of who you were.
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:40pm Chris:

There can never be enough Cohen in the world! Longtime fan of Leonard and happily brand new admirer of Adam.
Mon. 4/2/12 12:40pm Van in DC:

I "imagine" Julian Lennon feels much the same?
  Mon. 4/2/12 12:40pm dE3L:

  Mon. 4/2/12 12:41pm Asanarama:

Mon. 4/2/12 12:44pm Dwon Goes Brazier!:

Makes me want to find my old Dairy Queen™ promotional LEonard Cohen promotional flexi-disc, 'Ice Cream Cohen' from the '70's.

  Mon. 4/2/12 1:24pm Inda-Gestion:

This Bismol-colored webpage is making me queasy. Reminds me of those peppermint lozenges Aunt Veda used to keep in a little dish on the coffee table by her Kimball organ with the Color-Glo keys.
  Mon. 4/2/12 1:33pm G:

Page is beige in IE. Do different browsers display the page in a different color scheme???
Mon. 4/2/12 1:37pm Van in DC:

Huh. Maybe it's a combination of browser and version? In IE, this page is white for me. Pepto Bismol colored in Firefox.
  Mon. 4/2/12 1:44pm kat330:

Pink if FF, yep. Hey, G., Gotta tell you about my saving Grace.
  Mon. 4/2/12 1:44pm Inda-Gestion:

Avatar Mon. 4/2/12 1:50pm Irene:

Sorry about the Pink. I'll find a more IE-friendly color after the show. Daniel, please send a note to me via email (irene@wfmu.org) with the details. I'll certainly give a listen.
Avatar Mon. 4/2/12 2:00pm Irene:

That's kind of the idea. Spring-like.
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:24pm Mike East:

This is the color of a sweet Psychedelic Furs Teeshirt I wanted to buy last week, but was only available in girls' sizes. I'm a dude, but I can wear pink, too.
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:29pm still b/p:

Color of my lunch smoothie was somewhere between these two shades.
And I bought a Bombino ticket at lunch and am tickled two shades of pink.
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:30pm Apollo 58:

This is the color astronaut Buzz Aldrin saw just before he doubled-over and urped up some Tang. Kidding. Love it.
Mon. 4/2/12 2:30pm Van in DC:

That last tune reminded me kind of sort of, of some of David Sylvian's stuff.
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:32pm Mike East:

where's Bombino playing, still b/p?
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:35pm still b/p:

Portland on Wednesday. Doing a handful of dates around the northeast.
  Mon. 4/2/12 2:37pm Mike East:
