Ah, Delta 5. Way better than Delta 4. Thanks for playing this. I've had "You" stuck in my head all weekend, but this is an acceptable substitute.

Bon soir, cheri.

@OD: Thanks.
  Sun. 3/18/12 7:53pm Marc Farre:

I was about to say, sure sounds like Mr. Thomas...
Really awesome song.
  Sun. 3/18/12 7:55pm Steve:

If only Mo could see what you did to her show
  Sun. 3/18/12 7:57pm Marc(omatic):

As he just said, it takes a man secure in his masculinity to play Shirley Bassey.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:00pm Marc(omatic):

"Durst" means thirst in German. Kind of perfect for a song called "Salty Ledge."
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:05pm Dave M:

@Steve: I'd never play anything Monica wouldn't approve of.

  Sun. 3/18/12 8:10pm Destroit:

Thanks for the great sounds Dave, really enjoying it.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:13pm Marc(omatic):

Au contraire, mon frère.
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:13pm Dave M:

Thanks, Des.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:19pm frenchee:

fantastic version of "Lilac Wine," Dave! A lot of the music on FMU today has sounded like Mayo Thompson to me — until you played the Judy H. and Sandy D. songs. Gaylord's "Postcard" show was chockfull of MT-soundalikes...
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:19pm Marc:

Thanks for Sandy, Dave. Always so appreciated.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:22pm Kate Chanba:

Lovin the show Dave!
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:25pm Destroit:

Traffic, particularly low spark is welcome in my house.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:26pm miss cheri:

excuse me for saying this dave,, but sandy denny sounds my kind of person!!! party all the time!!
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:27pm frenchee:

yes, but did she jump or was she pushed?
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:27pm Dave M:

Welcome, Kate!
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:28pm Dave M:

@Frenchee: Fell, unfortunately. In fact, I think she had her young child in her arms at the time. She was drinking pretty heavily at the time.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:30pm miss cheri:

well night again dave i'll see you soon,,,
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:30pm Demon Rum:

Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name...
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:32pm frenchee:

Yeah, Dave, I know. Just wanted to be all smarty-pants with Richard Thompson/Linda Thompson lyrics.
Did the kid die too? Hope not, that's too horrible.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:32pm Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Dave and all the listeners.
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:33pm Dave M:

No, I think the kid survived. Not sure where he/she is today.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:34pm miss cheri:

it was great hanging out with you all!!
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:35pm Destroit:

Richard, hello!
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:35pm Wikipedia, "Sandy Denny" article:

Sandy Denny's daughter Georgia Denny has never spoken about her mother in a public forum and in the mid-2000s turned down an invitation to write the liner notes for Sandy Denny Live at the BBC. Georgia gave birth to twin daughters on 29 April 1997, and a tribute album, Georgia On Our Mind, featuring many of Sandy Denny's former band mates and friends, was compiled in the children's honour.
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:36pm Dave M:

What do you know about that. I had no idea. Thanks, Wikipedia.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:37pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Destroit.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:37pm Wikipedia, "Sandy Denny" article:

I see all, and know all. Just sayin. Well, nearly all. 0:-)
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:48pm G:

I lived in the UK in 1971-74. I actually remember the 10538 Overture, which I hadn't thought of in decades till you played it. So it was at least a minor hit over there. But in 1972 or so, Roy Wood and Move were the ones lying on their backs playing cellos on the "Top of the Pops" Thursday night chart-countdown telly show...
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:49pm Dave M:

I actually found a video of it on YouTube the other day. It's funny, but kind of destroys the mystery of the song.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:50pm miss cheri:

this was a really wonderful show dave,,, i really enjoyed it!!
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:50pm G:

Looked it up. That single peaked at no. 9 on UK singles chart in summer 72. ELO did not get popular over here in the US till maybe more like the mid 70s.
Avatar Sun. 3/18/12 8:52pm Dave M:

Yeah, that's true (about the US). Look for that video. It's really bizarre. They're all wearing animal masks. And Jeff Lynne is dressed as a pirate.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:56pm Doug S.:

Loving this one, big time.
  Sun. 3/18/12 8:57pm G:

Tx, I'll look it up... Many of the acts over in the UK in the early 70s were trying for a weird/distinctive visual look. That showed up in one way in glam, in another way in prog (with Gabriel costumes and slide projections above the stage), Bowie of course -- and yes, Lynne and Wood went for an original visual look. The outlandish-looking Wood was totally compelling if you were a teen TV watcher in the UK in 1972, as I can testify personally!
  Sun. 3/18/12 9:00pm Destroit:

Great stuff Dave, thanks again .
