Live performance and chat with Joy Askew

With an impressive resume featuring singing stints with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Joe Jackson, Laurie Anderson, and Sufjan Stevens, Joy Askew is still a relative unknown as a songwriter. Joy's fourth album of originals called "Drunk On You," playfully touches on themes dear to the heart of Occupy-Wall-Streeters, of social justice, and she even throws in a few creative love songs. Joy Askew brought in her band (Rob Jost: bass, vocals Robert DiPietro:drums, vocals; Steve: Elliott: guitars, vocals) for a live set.

Looking forward to hearing Joy Askew. Interesting that she has sung for Peter Gabriel? Can you ask her about that? :)

The "more info" link for Joy is not correct...it is pointing to .net and not .com

Miss Askew's singing brings to mind a question raised by another listener on a different show last week - why do people with strong national or regional accents lose those accents when they sing?
