Ken & commenters, good morning!!
  9:02am Aaron in Jcity:

Good Morning Ken!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08am Ken:

Hi Everbody!! me not feel very good....
  9:09am pierre:

Bien le bonjour listener

Bien le bonjour Ken !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Ken:

Any sick - dizzy - nauseaus - hungover - lyme disease music requests?
  9:11am Tim Serpas:

I think PedroHin's gallery goes with your top-of-the-list images: http://www.flickr.com/photos/paul_662/sets/72157594172867131/
  9:11am SteveL:

Nausea, by X, always seems to come up when I have the flu.
  9:12am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Rita Hagen's sneezing song (forgot the name).

Get better soon, Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Ken:

Yeah, X is my go-to Nausea song. I think I'm pregnant again.
  9:13am Tommy Roe:

"Dizzy" -- on a 45 played at 33 rpm!
  9:13am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Groves Emulsified Nose Drops song/track
  9:14am pierre:

— Mono Vomit by Felix Kubin is A GOOD nausea tune ! —
  9:16am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Any Mariah Carey song? I dunno if that counts but sure they all give me nausea.
  9:16am Detroit Mac:

Request for sick music: Itsy Tenny Polka Dot Bikini, played on an off-center hole (It was torture for Horst Buchholz in the movie "1-2-3")
  9:16am Emile:

There's 'Achoo' by Sparks but I can't really figure out if it's about being sick: "Who knows what the winds gonna bring when the invalids sing?" Wha? Anyway feel better Ken!
  9:16am Lizardner Dave:

Drunk On The Train to Chicago by Drink Me?
  9:17am λɯəɹəɾ:

don't have any suggestions for you, but this is basically how I am feeling today. I'm curious to see how effective the music is going to be.
  9:18am SteveL:

Remembering a weekend with a girlfriend, (almost) that was spent half- conscious in bed, (alone of course) with "Nausea" playing on loop in my head. Not as amusing then as it is now.
  9:19am Caryn:

Too bad all the songs I can think of with sickness-associated names aren't actually about sickness... Under the weather myself, Ken. Get better!
  9:20am r i s k y:

AHHH GO KEN! Haha! Go ken! Yeah hahahaha
  9:20am Vivian:

Ken, I hope you feel better! Remedy for a hangover- boiled peanuts and bloody marys. Stat!
  9:20am eirikur:

oooh yeah the weekly dose of twisted songs and gifs hath cometh
  9:21am bbell:

Ken-I importune you to not engage in the bladder holding contest tonight. Expecially if you are under the weather. Release the toxins!
  9:23am Leonard Graves Phillips:

"I've Got A Splitting Headache"
  9:24am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

I found three Lyme Disease songs:

1. "More Than My Skin (ode to Lyme Disease)"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVSwE2Ov-n4

2. "Lyme Disease Song (Under My Skin)"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNZYvWGkn8s

3. "This Damn Disease"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MioOfysFMJY

I'd say the second song in the list is the most suitable for a Ken's show (it has the "it's so bad that's good" vibe). The fist song sounds over produced. The third song's intro is way too pessimistic.
  9:24am still b/p:

Is that the music to cue a call from a medical professional?
  9:25am moose:

oo what's going to happen!
  9:27am a medical professional:

Cool hangover/headache treatment:
http://tinyurl.com/7wflefc
  9:28am SteveL:

"Sick Things" Alice Cooper. Sort of nauseating.
  9:30am Caryn:

Of course, if you feel so bad you keep throwing up, Ken, you'll be so dehydrated by 7SD that drinking all that liquid will just make you rehydrated and you won't need to pee. In other words, being sick might actually help you win.
  9:31am Doug:

Lyme disease has been a poor companion for over eight years now. Lose That Skin has been my theme song.
  9:32am Tim Serpas:

I was going to say something snarky about shopping radio, but the instant interview was beautiful.
  9:34am AnAnonymousParty:

"Pepto-Bismol is the champagne of anti-diarreah medicine" -Oscar Leroy.
  9:35am kat330:

Consider the source of where Ken purchases sushi on a regular basis. Maybe he's unfairly blaming Lyme disease for his stomach troubles?
  9:35am Nick the Bard:

Pepto Bismol tastes like root beer, just thicker. Why couldn't real root beer be like that?
  9:36am Emile:

It's demon heat!
  9:36am moose:

ken is illin'
  9:37am Caryn:

I feel like the head shops I know about are more old school. Never heard of Pepto-Bismol or lottery tickets being sold in one.
  9:37am kat330:

That's whack!
  9:37am dc pat:

I think it's suppose to make you puke, Ken so, by design?
  9:38am AnAnonymousParty:

Well, imagine what it would taste like if they didn't put stuff in it to make it taste 'better'.
  9:38am Cecile:

Oh, the whole Tall Dwarfs Throw a Sickie is a concept EP about Alec and Chris being sick one weekend.
  9:39am Cecile:

AAP, that would be called "the 70s."
Or the spoonful of sugar after the medicine. Or the quart of water.
  9:39am trish:

Chalky taste is tough to mask.
  9:40am bw:

Ken has finally done it
  9:41am Cecile:

Everyone says the test dye you have to drink before an abdominal scan tastes so much better than before. It's horrible, so I can only imagine.
  9:41am AnAnonymousParty:

I prefer the Nyquill approach, just dissolve it all in a slug of whisky.
  9:41am Cecile:

Or GoLytely. With the pineapple flavor. I couldn't look at a pineapple for weeks without hissing.
  9:41am Mark:

I always thought Imodium ad worked best
  9:42am Cecile:

Caryn, same here. Actually a nice one is attached to the Electric Fetus record store which also has a gift shop. One stop shopping!
  9:42am pierre:

I understand a thing of what's happening. But still enjoying it.
  9:43am Lizardner Dave:

I have a dump waiting for after this mic break is over.
  9:43am bw:

This is why you didn't make it in yesterday?!
  9:43am Caryn:

Yeah, or the stuff you drink before a colonoscopy. Vile taste and texture, still needs to be drunk with buckets of water. And still, about 90 % of people vomit much of the second dose up, because it's so disgusting.
  9:44am Will:

What is this I don't even??
  9:44am BSI:

Keep chugging that pepto and you'll be dumping yourself.
  9:45am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

I'm 12 and what is this
  9:45am Lizardner Dave:

Wasn't that a song, when I think about you I dump myself??
  9:45am bw:

genius !!!!!!!
  9:45am still b/p:

This is Ken's State of the Innards address.
  9:45am bw:

oh no KEN THIS SONG HAS 3 F BOMBS in it! what are you going to do???
  9:46am Twelve:

Hey I'm 12 too!
  9:46am Caryn:

@bw: that's why he was talking about the FCC dump button. Just getting ready for this.
  9:47am dc pat:

dump, dump, dump.....flush.
  9:49am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Caryn,
thanks for carynfying. I was wondering what pepto bismol had to do with the FCC dump button.
  9:51am Caryn:

Well, it was just a guess... The other alternative is that Ken has totally lost it. Maybe those antibiotics really are antipsychotics...
  9:51am mott:

dont know the title here but it reminds me of the Merman..
  9:52am Cecile:

antipsybiotics
  9:56am Irene:

Even when Ken is sick he does a great show. Feel Better Ken!
  9:56am Cecile:

that's true, Irene, and your show was lovely the other day...
  9:57am Roberto:

When Ken is sick he does his BEST shows. Post-concussion Ken was one for the ages.
  9:58am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

I search over 9000 pages and came up with ZERO results. Name of the track 6 from Chris Brokaw's Stories, is the latest musical mystery.
  10:01am bw:

this is cheating
  10:01am Aaron in Jcity:

Ken you find the best gifs
  10:01am Cecile:

Hugo! My husband was in the running for a Fan Art Hugo in the late 70s, just didn't make the final ballot.
  10:01am AnAnonymousParty:

Wasn't The Isolator one of Doctor Who's adversaries? I'm sure I've seen that guy before.
  10:02am SteveL:

Didn't Nina Hagen have a song about sneezing? Its a bit more chipper than the tone now though.
  10:02am Cecile:

Hugo Gernsback, king of the pulps!
  10:02am Caryn:

Every time I hear this, the opening helicopter pan from "The Shining" flashes in my mind.
  10:04am dc pat:

SteveL -- yeah, Ken's played that before. Play now Ken!
  10:04am SteveL:

I took another almost girlfriend to see The Shining on a first date. Bad choice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05am Ken:

Oh yeah - Hatschi Waldera by Nina Hagen - but I aint sneezing!
  10:05am Emile:

Dirge it up, Ken!
  10:07am Caryn:

Didn't Dave Navarro take take Carmen Electra to see "Requiem for a Dream" on their first date? And why the hell do I know this? Still, my idea of a date movie is pretty unusual too. My longest relationship started with us romantically holding hands while watching "Starship Troopers".
  10:07am dc pat:

I took a first date to see MP's Meaning of Life, also not such a good choice...
  10:08am Luke:

Good morning from the middle lands. I am hoping to hear some decent music this week. Last weeks hippy-noise blackout was hard on me.
  10:09am andymorphic:

totally in the mood for opera today
  10:09am Cecile:

that's just silly. And can hurt you.

Ow eeeeee
  10:09am dc pat:

Ken, I know you can get a prescription drug to "reduce frequency" but might be too late to visit your doc.
  10:09am pierre:

will there be a doctor in any case of bladder explosion or something?
  10:10am Caryn:

Ken, everyone keeps saying "Stories" only has 3 tracks on it, so track 6? Tough to identify.
  10:10am Michael:

I find the 'cherry' Pepto-Bismol disgusting...but the regular sort I don't both because I like wintergreen a _lot_ and because I have been conditioned to associating its taste with feeling much, much, better.

Ken, are you looking for the "brakeman's friend", also known as a 'Texas' or 'bulb' catheter?
  10:10am moose:

do people really dislike will shortz so much?
today's puzzle was good
  10:10am andymorphic:

starship troopers is brilliant!!!!!!!!
  10:11am SteveL:

will there be video in any case of bladder explosion?
  10:12am Lisa Nowak:

Ken, take a tip from an Astronaut and do we what we do on long drives.
  10:13am Mark:

yean holding in your pee for old men can lead to prostate issuses
  10:13am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Since it appears people is not making cool choices when taking their first date to the movies I shall suggest the following ones:

Salo 120 Days of Sodom
Man Behind the Sun
I Spit on Your Grave
Bloodsucking Freaks
Last House on the Left
Maniac
Cannibal Holocaust
Henery: Portrait of a Serial Killer
In a Glass Cage
Nekromantic
Illsa She Wolf of the SS
Combat Shock
Eraserhead
  10:14am cosmic muffin:

Retrograde ejaculation...? Tough to rate a day that includes that.
  10:14am Michael:

"Starship Troopers" is beautiful in that if you were a very dense Heinlein fan (and not just your neck-beard) you would think Verhoeven had done a decent job conveying the book's basic message. If you're not, I think it's best described as Verhoeven's take on what the system Heinlein describes would rapidly _become_.
  10:14am Caryn:

If you get a "retrograde ejaculation" to someone other than your spouse, can you claim you have retrograde amnesia and can't remember it?
  10:14am Sun:

Stop looking at me!
  10:14am AndrewK:

Retrograde Ejaculation is definitely the term of the day
  10:14am BSI:

retrograde ejaculation.
fully awesome.
  10:15am AnAnonymousParty:

Don't forget Caligula for a first-date film.
  10:16am Cecile:

Alien...
  10:16am Caryn:

Should I be concerned that I own most of Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:'s bad date movie list?
  10:17am Cecile:

I'm so over Verhoeven.
Showgirls wasn't anywhere near as weird and crazy as I was led to expect.
  10:17am Caryn:

And while we're on the subject, I suspect most "tentacle rape" anime would make the list of unfortunate date movies.
  10:18am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Retrograde ejaculation entry from Wikipedia:

Retrograde ejaculation is the ejecting of semen with a retro style twist from the male reproductory tract..
  10:18am Cecile:

Just don't invite me over for movie night...
  10:18am glenn:

yes, but robocop and the fourth man more than make up for it.
  10:18am BSI:

Salo was a'ite, but I was left with deep psychological scars after Milo & Otis, actually.
  10:19am framer:

Retrograde ejaculation = Lover, Come Back...wards
  10:19am Caryn:

They just showed "Robocop" on tv again. Man, it was better than I remembered! (Of course, the political stuff went over my head when I was a kid)
  10:19am Cecile:

those are great movies.
But with his crappy movies, when he's criticized, he's all "oh, I meant to do that...." Right.
  10:19am Jack:

"Starship Troopers" is OK for a grade B cheese movie, and only if you haven't read Heinlein's book. Shooting giant alien bugs with machine guns? oy!
  10:19am dc pat:

NOTEKILLERS!!
  10:20am Cecile:

Ooh, Ken, got any MX-80 (Sound)?
  10:21am AnAnonymousParty:

Don't make me pull out "'Manos': The Hands of Fate", the yardstick by which all bad movies are measured. The Gold Standard.
  10:22am Caryn:

"Starship Troopers" isn't great, but my undying love for Michael Ironside and the sight of Neil Patrick Harris in a Gestapo-style leather jacket will always triumph over any objections, and thus I will watch the damn thing if it's on tv.
  10:22am andymorphic:

st is i b movie for sure but it is always difficult to do justice to any good book on film but the vfx where fantastic and the energy was great...just like robo cop
  10:22am Cecile:

I'm partial to Robot Monster myself.
  10:22am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

""Starship Troopers" is OK for a RETROgrade E cheese movie "

FIX'D.
  10:23am AndrewK:

I'm more partial to movies like Blood Feast.
  10:24am Cecile:

I'm not a gore person, but I have a soft spot for 80s teen sex farces.
  10:25am Schlitzie:

I like Freaks!
  10:25am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Cecile, you mean like PiGS? o.O
  10:25am AndrewK:

Gotta love Micheal Ironside. Still a huge fan of Space Hunter. Which is also an early Molly Ringwald (sp?) flick.
  10:26am BSI:

There's a huge difference between "B"films and "bad" films. Case in point:

Milo & Otis is a "bad" film. Perhaps the worst film of all time. Whereas Blood Orgy of the She-Devils is a "B" film, and perhaps the greatest film of all time.
  10:26am Cecile:

I haven't seen that one.
  10:28am PSA:

The Muldoons
  10:28am John de San Antonio:

Pony policy get out the gay dust
  10:29am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Freaks, literally, is a freak of nature kind of film. It won't never happen again. Like any of Ken's show. Extraordinary, unrepeatable, irreproducible, unreproducible.
  10:29am Caryn:

"Manos" is bad, but I've seen worse. Including an absolutely ridiculous Brazilian horror movie and its sequel (I have both on DVD, but lord knows where, and who can remember what their names were...). They've recently been showing obscure 80's teen sex farces on late night tv on Fridays, Cecile. Some so bad they're good, some just lame. Seeing a young Johnny Depp & Rob Morrow as the stars of one was pretty weird. Guess that was before Depp became all about doing unconventional movies & fighting his hunky looks...
  10:31am Leonard Graves Phillips:

Killer Klowns from Outer Space!
  10:31am Roberto:

Useless fact: I met Michael Ironside in a hotel elevator in Mexico City in 1989.
  10:31am Ken From Hyde Park:

The Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie.
  10:31am clyde stubblefield:

1st time hearing Cash Money- i am on rollingthe floor- people at work don't know what to do
  10:31am whoopi:

Light Bladder Leakage is an issue that affects 1 in 3 freeform DJs. Sometimes little leaks happen, Ken.
  10:32am Caryn:

"Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" is gloriously "B movie" in every way. Roger Ebert writing its script still blows my mind. Has a great soundtrack, too!
  10:32am Cecile:

Here are ten movies I enjoy. Go analyze.

Ran
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Local Hero
Paris is Burning
Hail The Conquering Hero
The Oscar
The Reno 911! Movie
Army of Darkness
Zero Effect
  10:32am Nursing Home:

One word: Depends.
  10:33am andymorphic:

empire??? really.
  10:33am Caryn:

My analysis, Cecile: we should totally hang out and have a movie night! Totally enjoy those myself.
  10:34am AndrewK:

Werewolves on Wheels is an interestingly bad movie. Devil's Rain would be another.
  10:34am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

The Get Money, Turn Gay video-song...hilarious! Guy's with boots-as-hats for Presidents! Viva la Revolución!
  10:35am Lane Meyer:

Better Off Dead
  10:35am BSI:

Z-MAN in 2012!
  10:35am Cecile:

Still watchable, and I've seen it over 35 times.

Although 20 times was when I was dressed as a snowtrooper for a Star Wars promotion when it first came out
  10:37am Eat My Shortz:

@moose: "hate" is too strong of a word, but his endless self-promotion is more than a bit tiresome. He's really not all that.
  10:39am glenn:

michael ironside's niece just opened up a new bar in my hood.
  10:39am still b/p:

Was just reading a little yesterday about Paris Is Burning backlash, naysaying, disputes and money tussles that I hadn't been aware of in its day.
  10:40am Caryn:

Have never met Ironside (but boy, would I want to), but I did meet his bestman once.
  10:42am pierre:

@still b/p : just today, Paris is raining.
  10:42am holland oats:

wow these gifs are truly nauseating
  10:43am Bridget:

Hey Ken! Yes, these gifs are warped!
  10:43am still b/p:

That should help suppress the fires, but will ruin the finer fabrics.
  10:44am Ike:

Oh God this eye pain is excruciating. Anybody got any dog trnquilizerrrs?
  10:44am Caryn:

Have hung out with Robert Picardo, but couldn't talk to him about any of the Joe Dante movies he was in. Guy kept singing karaoke and drinking! Which brings me to Dante, whose movies could be considered B or not. Who cares what they are. They're good, and that's all that matters.
  10:46am Buzzby:

I have not formed here, for I have no form, so don't try to formulate me Ken!
  10:46am kat330:

@Sven: Seen any northern lights? Great pic at this site:
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120124.html
  10:47am kat330:

Ken, ginger water or ginger ale would be soothing your tummy ache.
  10:47am Ken From Hyde Park:

That's got to be the longest train whistle I've ever heard.
  10:48am The Doctor:

Put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up.
  10:48am Cecile:

Caryn, one of the best movies - it has suspense, comedy and good special effects - is Tremors. I never thought it was a B movie at all. Just an A with a low budget.
  10:49am Cecile:

sbp - yes, there was a lot of shit swirling around Paris is Burning, but thank God it got made.
  10:49am kat330:

@Caryn: Same question as to Sven -- any aurora borealis your way?
  10:49am Cecile:

it has a line I use all the time - "F*ck the House of Labeja!"
  10:52am AndrewK:

B-movie is one of those terms that has changed in definition over the years. Use to just mean it wasn't funded and released by one of the A-list film companies.
10:52am Link suggested by song being played now:

Whales give lift to dolphins:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC3AkGSigrA
  10:53am AndrewK:

I used to see some of the Aurora growing up in Northern Ontario. it has to be much more intense as you get further north though.
  10:54am Cecile:

son of strelka, pretty please?
  10:55am glenn:

where in northern ontario?
  10:55am glenn:

  10:56am Jack:

"Tremors" is one of the best.
  10:57am Caryn:

@kat: yep, they were visible all across the country. Unfortunately, cloud cover made sightings impossible over here :(
@Cecile: "Tremors" is definitely on my list of all-time favourite movies. It is brilliant in every way!
  10:58am kat330:

@Link: Thanks for that -- cool!
  10:58am checkers:

sounds like the saltines are kicking in.
  10:59am Webhamster Henry:

I think Nixon should have a slot on FMU.
10:59am Link suggested by song being played now:

Ken,
How good Richard Nixon would rate as a radio DJ? It seems to me jovial, funny, insightful, knowledgeable, magical, magnetic, etc..
  11:00am kat330:

@glenn: ditto on the link.
  11:00am Jack:

warm flat ginger ale = sugar water with caffeine. mmm....good
  11:00am Parq:

Johnny Cash performing a Shel Silverstein song for Nixon -- the wonder of it all.
  11:01am Roberto:

Tremors! Yessss
  11:02am Lizardner Dave:

A Shel Silverstein song inspired by Jean Shepherd (the radio guy, not the country singer).
  11:02am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Parq,

Close only to Kenny G performing a weather forecast as a poem for Obama.
  11:02am kat330:

@Caryn: Explains why J.T. is comfortable around here. I bought him a telescope many years ago, but like the kantele, it's more a piece of sculpture. ALWAYS cloud cover over Kentuckiana whenever there's a sky phenom.
  11:02am Mark:

yeah Tricky Dick asked Johnny to sing "Okie from Muskogee" , "Welfare Cadilac" and "A Boy Name Sue" and Johnny told him to stuff it re the first two
  11:05am Cecile:

awesome!
  11:05am Caryn:

Oh, the joy that is "Tremors":
Earl: Damn it, listen to me. I'm older and wiser.
Val: Yeah, well you're half right.

Earl: We gotta run. We've got a schedule to keep.
Val: Yeah. See, we plan ahead, that way we don't do anything right now. Earl explained it to me.

@kat: apparently, they were easy to see everywhere else in Finland. But here: clouds. Dammit!
  11:06am Buzzby:

I can hear all the subliminal messages Ken, but it still won't form me!
  11:07am Mark:

actually Johnny respectfully but firmly denied the requests
  11:08am Caryn:

I'm getting a weird Ken Burns documentary feel from this...
  11:12am Ike:

Son of Strelka would be better if it made even the slightest bit of sense. Somebody more clever, more sane, and/or more patient could surely make a *real* alternate narrative out of a bunch of re-shuffled Obama book passages.
  11:14am Detroit Mac:

The SOTU and the Response: The Great Political Circle Jerk - They came and we got fucked again.
  11:14am holland oats:

i saw it ken. i'm with you.
  11:14am Cecile:

I saw the tail end of it.
The Republican response sounds logical, but was really deeply insane.
  11:15am holland oats:

stop beating yourselves up.
  11:15am SOTU:

Did Breckman write the spilled milk joke?
  11:16am holland oats:

@sotu heh
  11:16am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Ike, there's a lot of things in Ken's show's content that don't make any sense at all (i.e. Hitler over the rainbow image). This is why I like his show.
  11:16am The Log Lady:

Yo, Ken - have you performed your special log task yet? Don't forget to do it!
  11:16am holland oats:

i thought he was gonna do a 'thank you, goodnight!' after that
  11:17am SOTU:

...or "I'll be here all week"...
  11:19am holland oats:

heh or 'for at least the next several months'
  11:19am Caryn:

We don't get the SOTU here. Our prez just does a tv broadcast on new years' day, akin to ERII's X-mas message. I just keep wondering who exactly Ken keeps talking to, who we can't hear clearly.
Speaking of presidents, I'm currently ill because I spent Sunday and Monday counting presidential election votes in a freezing-cold public gym. Either the cold or being surrounded by dozens of people during flu season has led to me being sick. And in two weeks, gotta do it again for round 2 of the election... Hope I don't get sick again.
  11:20am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Are we talking about the Home-Depo front door?
  11:22am blip:

Ok, so I welcome the strangeness/seemingly randomness of Ken's images, but what is the image next to "Wire" about?
  11:22am holland oats:

@caryn where's here?
  11:23am Caryn:

@holland oats: Finland
  11:23am PAS Music:

Great show today. Those nude animated gifs are awesome.
  11:24am holland oats:

ahh gotcha
  11:27am Dan B From Upstate:

Bruce is easily my favorite kid.
  11:27am BDR:

KiTH!
  11:27am Caryn:

@blip: have no idea, though the background makes me think about "The Tomorrow People"'s opening credits... Which reminds me, anyone ever see the "Tomorrow People" episode where Doctor Who turned up in sparkly hot pants, a cape, a pink cowboy hat and a blonde afro wig and proceeded to fondle anything fallic on the set? Very odd childrens' television... But would make for an awesome gif.
  11:28am Caryn:

Yay, Bruce! Spent last week watching KiTH clips on youtube.
  11:29am kat330:

@Caryn: I thought Ken was talking to his own echo? [I got sidetracked by a phone call however and missed much.]
  11:29am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

blip,

My guess is that an army of pedobears is crossing a bridge trying to escape the WFMU land because is supported by a Justin Beaver cloud. The effect would be the opposite if it were a Rebecca Black cloud.
  11:29am PAS Music:

More Bruce!!! That Doors song was killer!
  11:30am kat330:

Ah, this is PERFECT for this morning for me! Dead car battery but fixed now.
  11:30am fishmonkeystew:

For the record, I hate the Doors.
  11:30am Caryn:

@kat: well, it occasionally seemed so, but then you'd occasionally hear this muffled talking answering Ken every now and then, like someone on the phone or by the door not looped into the mic.
  11:32am kat330:

So I understand the Finn's have a choice between the Green candidate and a rather right-wing one? Though J,T. said he would be considered liberal in this country.
  11:34am dc pat:

for the record I like the doors.
  11:35am Mark:

for the record I hate the Doors
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Ken:

I like The Doors also. Too bad about that singer though...
  11:37am kat330:

For the record, I like SOME Doors, hate Rod Stewart.
  11:37am kthxbye:

For the doors I hate the records.
  11:37am Sam:

Yeah what ever happened to their singer? Did he die and become the messiah? Or am I ocnfusing him with someone else?
  11:38am Caryn:

@kat: yep, the top 2 are the Green candidate (who is, incidentally, also openly gay, which I doubt would happen in the US) and the Coalition Party candidate, who's mostly known for his rollerblading, his puppy, his poet wife and his first wife's death in the tsunami. He was way more right-wing when he was young, but is more "centre" nowadays. Both are kinda low-key gentlemen. It seems most of the sports stars are supporting the Coalition candidate, and most of the musicians are supporting the Green candidate. One of my fave bands is reforming to perform at his benefit concert. Tickets sold out in an hour, so won't get to go :(
  11:38am Mark:

for the record I hate Rod Stewart's doors
  11:39am Hugol:

for the record, I hate when Doors slam your fingers.
  11:39am still b/p:

For the record I hate all Rod Stewart's recordings of American songbook standards.
  11:40am subcom:

i just became a palomar fan right now
  11:41am kat330:

At least that Doors singer never made my throat ache when listening to him.
  11:41am BSI:

This may be blasphemous, but have been totally ambivalent about The Doors since forever. Don't hate 'em, don't love 'em. It's like berry-flavored fizzy water. If I'm thirsty, I'll have regular ol' water. Or a proper ale. No point going for the fizzy water. ... HEY, that was borderline profound. I will now pause and be awesome.
  11:41am dc pat:

for the doors, I hate everything Rod Stewart ever recorded, EVER.
  11:42am Caryn:

for the Rod Stewart, I hate records' doors... I think we've taken this to its illogical extremes.
  11:43am Ken From Hyde Park:

Palomar, meet Paramore. Paramore, meet Palomar.
  11:43am Jeff Beck's Truth Album:

No you don't.
  11:44am dc pat:

JBTA: I hate you.
  11:44am Mark:

what flavor berry, acia is horrible
  11:44am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

dc pat,

The only part I liked about the Rod Stewart concert I went last year in London (don't blame me, I was invited) was when he started kicking balls to the audience (which signals the end of his show).
  11:44am kat330:

Surprisingly poppy, tuneful song for this list usually.
  11:44am Caryn:

@Ken from HP: Is that the radio listeners' version of "Uma... Oprah. Oprah... Uma"?
  11:45am Robert's Rules of Ordure:

Those in favor of slamming Rod Stewart's fingers, tonsils and hair in a door, say aye.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Ken:

Ken From HP? I'm From Highland Park.
  11:46am dc pat:

..slammed by a big fat drunk Jim Morrison, AYE!
  11:46am AndrewK:

I've always the Doors were a band you should discover and then grow out of very quickly.
  11:46am kat330:

Rod's getting long enough in the sack he better watch kicking those balls in the future.
  11:47am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

Robert's Rules,

Pointless unless you include the throat.
  11:47am Caryn:

Can the car door be one of Rod's yellow Ferraris? The ones his own kids keep telling him he shouldn't buy in such "midlife crisis" colours?
  11:48am Cecile:

I like Rod Stewart up until 1975. Then after that, his brain got eaten by alien parasites, and he's done a whole lot of crap.
  11:48am Balzac:

I resemble that remark.
  11:48am Ike:

My ex is in Highland Park, Ken, so now I will forever associate Highland Park with repression of emotions and thwarted romance.
  11:48am seang:

young hearts be free tonight
  11:48am dc pat:

That's the only GOOD thing about Stewart, he's a footballer....
  11:49am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

dc pat,

...and professional scorer. He has a brand new baby.
  11:49am Caryn:

I actually often don't mind Rod Stewart in interviews. I think his Scottish charm can come through sometimes. If we could just convince him to stop recording...
  11:50am Brian C.:

Even when I liked the Doors (High School) I thought Jim's poetry and film stuff sucked. Now I think the music pretty much sucks too. That said, it was interesting to hear that "new" song they unearthed a coupla weeks back (new to me anyway).
  11:50am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hyde Park, NY 12538 Noted for a Vanderbilt mansion and the home of FDR. On the fringe of the WMFU 90.1 FM signal.
  11:50am dc pat:

I like Jim Morrison up to about 1971, then his brain rotted...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Ken:

That's funny Ike, I also associate Highland Park with thwarted romances. And a lot of other things too. Having spent 18 years there.
  11:51am Cecile:

Obviously no Faces fans here.
Sure, he's so bougie that George Hamilton looks like Johnny Rotten compared to him, but Rod's alright. I cut him a lot of slack.
  11:51am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

I thought the Doors were the best band ever. Then I turned 8.
  11:52am kat330:

I liked Jim Morrison until he got tub-by.
  11:52am Cecile:

He has an actual talent unlike Real Housewives and Kardashians.
  11:52am Mark:

oh I liked the Faces
  11:53am trish:

Hope you feel better. Ken. Thanks for the radio/pics.

(pee holding trick #4: imagine a bulldozer pushing it back up)
  11:53am Caryn:

I did love Kenny Everett's Rod Stewart impersonation. And I think early Rod (Faces etc.) is okay. Now, though... More and more fetal wives, crappy albums and desperation.
  11:53am Cecile:

anyway, I want to go see that Liam Neeson winter survival movie. Looks awesome
  11:54am Inquiring Mind:

What r those broads fighting over in aisle 7?

the only song ROCKS!!!
  11:54am still b/p:

Morrison's habits even made much of the '91 movie story boring. Stoned/drunken unreliable nuisance...again? ....a shame, but, yawn.
  11:55am AndrewK:

Rod Stewart is basically the pop singer in Love Actually
  11:55am kat330:

Andy & Ken have deemed it cool now to be smart, but someone on a playlist here was actually referencing Beavis & Butthead to dis Kate Bush. Sheesh, they ruled when it was cool to be stooooopid.
  11:55am glenn:

i am with cecile. rod did some great stuff.
  11:57am Caryn:

In recent years, Liam Neeson seems to have decided to only play one kind of character in one kind of movie, which is disappointing. Some of those films and roles can be good, but they all start to meld into one. Although he seems to be aware of this, and totally mocks himself in that new Gervais show. So good for Liam!
  11:57am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

I'm also fan of the ONLY song. Too bad is not a massive loop, 74-hours long.
  11:57am dc pat:

man, all alone again. It's cold here...
  11:58am Ŧ๏Ŧ๏ (:

KEN, thanks so much for the show! Good luck with the pee show and get better!
  11:58am Marge Schott:

Rod was good in the beginning, but went too far.
  11:58am kat330:

Wow, I just did a search and got this in return: "You asked:
What instruments does rod stewart play?
Sorry, there has been a problem in answering your question. Please try again later."
  11:59am AndrewK:

I didn't appreciate the Only Song until I tuned in one day and Ken was looping it.
  11:59am Ken From Hyde Park:

My Firefox browser did go haywire. At least now I know why. Good luck on the bladder contest.
  11:59am Cecile:

Yeah, caryn.
I like Liam and also the fact there are a pack of hungry wolves pursuing he and his buddies.
  11:59am kat330:

Yes, thanks, Ken, and hope you feel better!
  2:48pm Aaron in Jcity:

hey ken - where did you find those gifs of the half women?
