Bonjour Liz !
so glad to be here.
Freezing but sunny days in Paris
are good for listening to Liz's show.
Mon. 1/16/12 9:07am Ken From Hyde Park:

Sunny and cold north of NYC, too.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 9:13am Liz B.:

Hi everyone, good to see you here. Welcome all! Jersey City isn't so tropical today, I must say.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:13am milopkl:

Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 9:18am Liz B.:

That's not the point, Glenn, the point is complaining about it! Ha ha! Welcome milopkl, glad to see the southern hemisphere checking in.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 9:27am Liz B.:

Quick poll: coffee or tea?
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:27am glenn:

coffee. duh.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:29am Mike Sin:

Hot Chocolate loaded up with Frangelico.

Good morning, Liz Berg. I hope you don't mind that I've decided to attend your show in a bathrobe.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:29am milopkl:

coffee
Mon. 1/16/12 9:30am Ken From Hyde Park:

I never buy or make coffee, but if it's being served at a luncheon or something, I'll have some. I have made tea before, so put me in the tea camp.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:32am Abby:

Coffee, please, Liz.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:32am pierre:

Both.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 9:35am Liz B.:

I have always turned my nose up at tea unless I'm sick, and even then I'm not a fan. But! I'm trying to understand where the tea people are coming from, because it has always mystified me.
Mon. 1/16/12 9:36am Chris from DC:

Tea once in awhile when it's a nice pot of the good stuff (Teaism here in DC), otherwise coffee all the way.
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:37am milopkl:

  Mon. 1/16/12 9:38am alex:

  Mon. 1/16/12 9:42am Abby:

  Mon. 1/16/12 9:46am Ernest (Vienna):

that sound in the background of Track 6, is that exactly the same as in Cat Power's Bathysphere? Or is it me?
  Mon. 1/16/12 9:58am Raf:

Greetings from Portland, Liz!
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 10:02am Liz B.:

  Mon. 1/16/12 10:04am Raf:

  Mon. 1/16/12 10:40am Mike:

Yo Liz! Word on the coffee/tea bit. I am with you.... :-) Have a lovely day, from Boulder CO!!!
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:41am BW:

LB!!! nice demonization of the other on MLKJR day!!!
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:41am glenn:

coffee and cats for me.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:42am Nasal Stylings:

Tea is superior to coffee when your breakfast is full of greasy meats because of the astringency. But I agree that if you want coffee (or tea), then tea (or coffee) is not a reasonable substitute. Also from Boulder.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:45am glenn:

although, when i go for pho, i always have green tea. coffee just wouldn't work in that situation.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:45am Detroit Mac:

You want a tea that zaps you better than coffee? Try Morning Thunder. It is full of Yerba Mate. I like both Tea and Coffee, but too much coffee gives me disturbing heart arrhythmia... so I drink more tea than coffee
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:46am pierre:

In any of those beverages, water remains the important ingredient. So water for me.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:46am yoman:

NS: "full of greasy meats"

Nice phrase, I had to savor it :-)

Liz, just tuned in, looking at the playlist I missed some stuff, but it's good to be back.

Virginia, USA
Mon. 1/16/12 10:47am Disturbing Heart Arrythmia:

Pussy.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 10:48am Liz B.:

BW, I'm trying to bring some understanding between two opposing parties! I want to learn about the tea thing, not demonize it.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:49am yoman:

The real problem with demon tea is getting them into the little bags before you brew it.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:50am Detroit Mac:

MISTER Pussy to you, buddy! (and you wouldn't talk like that once you had a bad episode of you heart skipping beats for 30 minutes)
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:50am earwax:

COFFEE!!!!!
Mon. 1/16/12 10:51am Dead Corporate Eyes:

drinking some hazelnut brew from Panera with some soy creamer. I pirated what was left over in from an office meeting on Friday morning.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:52am yoman:

I guess I should vote:
Tea is good, there's nothing like coffee, caffeine is of the essence!
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:54am Mike:

Hello Nasal Stylings.....I bet we work in the same building!!! Or not... Hot Coffee Cocoa.....Mocha Madness!
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:54am Nasal Stylings:

How I stopped drinking coffee and started drinking tea: My Colombian (!) wife and I took a trip to Ireland and I always embarrass myself by going native. Irish breakfasts are replete with meat, not to mention non-Cosby puddings. The only acids to be found were the omnipresent roasted half-tomato and Assam-heavy Irish breakfast tea. I also tend to be tightly wound, so the tea is probably better for my nerves. I still prefer coffee with dessert, or dessert-like breakfasts. Can't we all just get along?
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:54am Detroit Mac:

The REAL question here should be: Paper or Plastic. If you are paying for a good cup of joe - it has to be in a ceramic cup.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:55am yoman:

Detroit Mac: OTOH, my spouse can't handle any of that stuff. We knew caffeine was a no-no, but she had some ginseng tea put her in the cardiac emergency unit. It was a little too exciting.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:56am Mike:

Hey Nasal, I fell in love with Irish breakfasts after a visit a few years back....those are most certainly non-Cosby puddings!!
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:56am Mauri:

The songs made my jog real good. From and to the family cottage by the lake saimaa. The nature under a thick layer of snow. Greetings from Finland.
Mon. 1/16/12 10:56am Chris from DC:

Mac, I came pretty close to arrhythmia once when I had some real strong coffee and then some chocolate coated espresso beans. Bad move. Had to pull off the highway to catch my breath. Actually sort of scary.
Mon. 1/16/12 10:58am Dead Corporate Eyes:

my daughter is making me wear a princess crown and telling me I have to be a "nice king". It's going to be a long day.
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:58am yoman:

My favorite caffeine OD was buying a bunch of coffee bean centered malted milk balls and seeing the movie "Traffic" at a 99 cent show. I scarfed all these chocolatey coffee beans, by the time I left the movie I could hear snails walk :-D
  Mon. 1/16/12 10:59am glenn:

aw. that's the cutest thing ever, dce. take pictures.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 11:03am Liz B.:

I sadly had to cut way back on the coffee a few years ago due to acid reflux probz, so I hear ya Detroit Mac! It's a bummer. Tried yerba mate but thought it tasted like dirt and grass.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:05am yoman:

Ummm, dirt and grass!
Mon. 1/16/12 11:08am what your daughter should say:

The Dead Corporate Eyes are dead! Long live the Dead Corporate Eyes!
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:10am Rutschky:

now that is surprising to hear max goldt in an american radio show. even among germans, his musik is rather unknown compared to his books, because he is rather known for writing nowadays, well, i'm close to tears though
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:13am Detroit Mac:

Yeah: Mate tastes fairly awful, but it fun to pass around like a bong when it is served Argentine style in a silver cup with a silver straw! (gourmets cultivate the taste of "Bitter" over "Sweet" as bitter flavors can be much more complex and identifiable.)
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:14am kat330:

Sorry to tune in so late my first time here with Liz. Better late than never.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:14am kat330:

Liz, I understand you are to be greatly thanked for your part in pledge swag. J.T. and I thank you for all the great stuff we are still only beginning to enjoy!
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 11:19am Liz B.:

Thanks kat330! I am part of the machine that makes the swag happen.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:19am kat330:

Reading back in the discussion here: I do coffee M-W-F-Sa mornings, but tea on T-Th-Su. J.T. is tea only, and we are both cat people (though I appreciate other people's dogs very much). Wonder what does that show?
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:30am kat330:

New Orleans is wonderful -- you'll love it, Liz. [Moreso if you're feeling 100% of course.]
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:31am glenn:

new orleans is definitely a coffee town.
Avatar    Mon. 1/16/12 11:32am Liz B.:

Thanks kat330, never been there so I'm totally excited! Hope to have a belly full of marine crustaceans by the time it's all over.
Mon. 1/16/12 11:37am Chris from DC:

This Sunflare is killer.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:38am Joe:

Really love the Sunflare
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:53am Joe:

Wow what a great set...I have just been turned on to 6 new "bands" that are super cool
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:56am CP:

Very Pistols sounding. Pretty Vacant.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:56am andymorphic:

my favorite thing about working day is your show liz....great set. thanks.
  Mon. 1/16/12 11:57am kat330:

Yes, sorry I was so late to the party. Be well and safe, Liz, and do everything I would (and wouldn't) do in Nawlins!
  Mon. 1/16/12 12:04pm yoman:

Is that Dick the Bruiser singing "The Crusher"?
  Mon. 1/16/12 12:06pm yoman:

Thank you! Take care.
