  10:53am
listener james from westwood:

been playing your archives a lot during a heavy proofreading job these past couple of weeks; ideally suited to this sort of work. glad your sunday-morning gig has extended past when the schedule ordinarily would have switched to fall/winter.
  11:04am
Jay/ London:

good afternoon all
  11:12am
Lamin:

Late good morning all!

James, yes. we'll be here for another week or so... then it's back to Reggae Schoolroom for you all. We might be back in June.
  11:13am
slugluv1313:

  11:16am
slugluv1313:

  11:17am
slugluv1313:

@ listener james in westwood -- WOW where does one get proofreading jobs these days???
  11:18am
stefan:

i woke up for the last 45! feeling sane again..,
  11:21am
Mello:

Woke up to the sound of Lamin. The music is upbeat and nice way to kick off the day. Much love and keep them tunes coming.
  11:21am
Chris from Midwood:

LAME. I like the substitute teacher better than the regular schoolroom teacher. Sorry Jeff...
  11:22am
Lamin:

Yeah, I'll be here for fill-ins. I'm actually looking forward to those!
  11:26am
stefan:

parsing these comments, you're no longer the principal host!?
  11:28am
listener james from westwood:

glad there will be fill-ins and a possible june residency again. bummed that i won't hear what a lamin marathon premium compilation might sound like, but hell, the whole damn archive is a marathon premium. thanks for the extraordinary music.
  11:31am
listener james from westwood:

@slugluv: it's out there, much of it in pdf form vs paper; i do both. i actually lucked into the current one by overhearing an editor at an adjoining table in a restaurant saying the copy editor she had used for a job had done crappy work. i interrupted, said, "*i'm* a copy editor," and i was in for editing/proofing work.
  11:34am
Lamin:

Yes, Stefan -- no longer a principal host. Seriously though, thank you all so much for listening and supporting. It has been a wonderful experience, playing music on the radio regularly for the last couple of months.
  11:39am
stefan:

it deeply saddens me to hear that. no radio program has so thoroughly delighted and challenged my ears as yours. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. <3
  11:42am
slugluv1313:

@ listener james from westwood -- WOW! that is wonderful that you got that gig! and true, last editing/proofing job i had was in pdf form (a massive manual done on a volunteer basis for a very worthy cause) just wondered about paying jobs b/c sooooo much of that had dried up years ago (and you can tell by the "quality" of writing out there now, YIKES! even regular mainstream news stories are ridden with really glaring errors -- stuff that would have sent *me* to the unemployment line!)
  11:43am
ERD:

Bummer that you won't be on every week Lamin. Thanks for the great music.
  11:44am
slugluv1313:

YES Lamin i am saddened too! your Sunday morning shows have been pure JOY! aside form the WFMU website, any way we can know when you will be doing fill-ins?
  11:46am
stefan:

ugh this k-s.h.e. record is a lot
  11:49am
listener james from westwood:

ditto on the fill-in thang. if you've got a social media outlet or a music blog you tend where you might post such info, along w. musical finds, etc., i'd follow it
  11:51am
Lamin:

Yeah Stefan -- I have been listening to a bunch of Terre Thaemlitz aka DJ Sprinkles aka K-S.H.E. lately.

I'll be here again next Sunday for the last show this fall... I'll make sure I announce it on Twitter (twitter.com/laminfofana) or on Dutty Artz (duttyartz.com) when I'm doing a fill-in.
  11:51am
listener james from westwood:

slugluv, it's been a sad battle for those of us who care about writing to see how editors, managers, and pub-company owners seem to have grown less concerned (or less able to concern themselves, due to time/money factors) with technical precision. but they're out there. editorial freelancers association and the copyediting listserv are two bastions of give-a-hoot that restore my faith.
  11:52am
listener james from westwood:

thanx for the linx!
  11:59am
Rick from West Orange:

Great set. Came to you late and now I will definitely dive into the archives. Hope you are back on the regular schedule soon.
  12:04pm
slugluv1313:

thanks Lamin! i do not have a Twitter however i shall check out the other website!!!

@ listener james from westwood -- exactly! and i can totally see the economic constraints too -- caring about proper editing, etc. yet not having it "on the budget" . . . and THANK YOU for those resources (just wrote 'em down on my unemployment printout, ha ha!)
  7:59am
natural-d:

We need Lamin here regularly, but we also need Jeff, don't forget without the connection to the music Jeff plays, much of the beautiful music we hear elsewhere would never be made
