Listener comments!

Thu. 11/17/11 9:04am Good Morning Jason:

Dead Corporate Eyes
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:04am Cheri Pi:

Ooo I love this style of horns & glockenspiels.very 80's/
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:05am Cheri Pi:

well-maybe there are no horns,,, did I imagine it?
Thu. 11/17/11 9:08am Dead Corporate Eyes:

the brain is a tricky thing, as are the ears. Has anyone hit any animals while driving?
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:10am Cheri Pi:

Not that I know of, but my mom hit a black bear on the highway last year.
Thu. 11/17/11 9:12am Dead Corporate Eyes:

a bear--wow, coming out slugging. I thought we'd start with squirrells and skunks, but a bear!
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:14am Jason:

good morning!
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:15am Cheri Pi:

She had just crossed the Macinac bridge going south at night, not much traffic luckily going about 80. Totalled the passenger door and the bear ran into the woods. She was able to make it back to Cincy just fine.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:16am Jason:

have never hit an animal while driving *knock on wood*
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:16am dc pat:

the bear lives in Cincy?
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:16am r i s k y:

Go jay!!!
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:19am AbeSomething:

Just tuning in, maybe I missed something at the start of this song but - what makes this version of "Little Johnny Jewel" a rarity? Sounds like the album version...
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:21am glenn:

what album version? it was released as a 2 sided single on ork records.
Thu. 11/17/11 9:23am Dead Corporate Eyes:

my brain always says "Girls on Film" when I hear that guitar lick, though.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:23am Marmalade Kitty:

Great opening set Jason!!
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:24am Jason:

Little Johnny Jewel is a bonus track on Marquee Moon reissue
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:24am AbeSomething:

@Glenn Until this moment I always thought the track was on Marquee Moon. I see now that it was on the CD release as an extra.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:25am Cheri Pi:

No this was a UP bear in Michigan. We go up there a lot and now always cross our fingers when we're on that stretch of highway.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:25am BSI:

@DCE: Regarding the roadkill question: My wife took out my brand new earth-killing SUV for the first time (2000) and promptly nailed a gorgeous bright red cardinal. The thing exploded like a tiny supernova. The vents were open. I'll say no more.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:27am BSI:

postscript: after moving back to dc, promptly sold it. Felt like driving a huge buffalo on the beltway. Thing was ideal for southern AZ but not so good for city driving. Now proudly car-free for several years...
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:29am dc pat:

congrats BSI. I don't know why people even thinking of having those things in the city. Big moby dicks trying to fit into tiny parking spots...
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:29am dc pat:

I love Abner Jay. he did his own thing..
Thu. 11/17/11 9:30am Dead Corporate Eyes:

@ BSI--that cardinal was kind of a canary in a coal mine.
Thu. 11/17/11 9:31am Dead Corporate Eyes:

I've been driving 25 + years and have been lucky enough to never have smushed nothing. I see so many dead animals along the road, I just kind of wonder who is the jerk who hits them all?
Thu. 11/17/11 9:33am pgw in mntclr:

don't stop Sharrockin'
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:34am glenn:

in the springtime here, i can easily see 100 dead raccoons on the road in a 20 mile stretch.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:34am Jason:

hey everybody been following the Stop Online Piracy Act? It's dangerous and very real -- check out the links at the top of the page and we'll chat about it at 10:30 with media piracy expert Joe Karaganis
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:34am Cheri Pi:

I love this album! And Monkey Pockie Boo
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:34am BSI:

...grew up in DC, and seeing the gridlock (and the long lines during the '70s gas crisis), never wanted to drive. Didn't even learn until age 31.... Though i will say, taking the xterra up those goat-path mountain roads between tucson & sedona was plenty awesome. But back home, it's nasty business.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:35am Lee:

This Sharrock cut is one of my hands down all time favorite songs. Thanks for the continued RRrockin' Jason
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:36am nyc:

Morning Jason, all. Wow, lot's of conversation already!
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:36am BSI:

also, yes. Looking forward to the Karaganis chat...
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:37am dc pat:

THIS IS AMAZING!

Yeah, I don't mind driving Suburbans straight up the mountains in PA. Good stuff...
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:42am JInx:

what was that song played at 9;30....sounded kind of like The Doors, the lyric was something like "got my morning bells..."
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:44am Cecile:

Cheri, I am a'skeered of bears. They are nuts. Glad your mom got home OK.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:52am Cheri Pi:

The insurance adjuster had never seen dents with bear hair in them.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:53am Cecile:

well, not down there.
LOL!
Wolves and big cats (unless they are protecting young) will leave people the hell alone. Bears? You just never know. They go their way, I go mine.
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:59am John:

Your show has driven my coworker to leave the office. she could not stand the woman screaming. Awesome show! thanks,
  Thu. 11/17/11 9:59am BSI:

Ah nice. A favorite TG item there (the live version on, i think it was, Thee Psychick Sacrifice, particularly)
  Thu. 11/17/11 10:19am Cecile:

I'm not a fan of Kristin Hersh musically, but she is a huge model for those of us living with mental ailments and illnesses.
  Thu. 11/17/11 10:20am Cecile:

She's the poster child for how to handle bi-polar disorder right.
Thu. 11/17/11 10:26am Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel, Earth):

Hello everyone, jumping in
  Thu. 11/17/11 10:27am dc pat:

this set is kicking...
  Thu. 11/17/11 10:43am rada:

copyright infringement is your patriotic duty.
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:00am earwax:

What are the proposed penalties for false accusation of infringement? Would it be possible to shut down a Disney web site with an accusation of infringement or does this sword only cut one way?
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:00am bw:

good to hear that Jason!
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:00am earwax:

Thanks Jason and Joe
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:01am AbeSomething:

Thanks for that interview, Jason. It's an issue we all need to be very aware of. Much appreciated!
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:02am don:

great interview, jason.
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:06am rada:

  Thu. 11/17/11 11:22am Jason:

  Thu. 11/17/11 11:39am Carmichael:

Where's Pierre when you need him?? Hey hey, everyone.
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:43am Roy:

it means something like: ego explosion in a "(boutique) haberdasher's shop GB, notions store US." of self educated mind.
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:44am Roy:

it´s dificult to translate mercerie
  Thu. 11/17/11 11:53am Roy:
